Haven’t yet played with my ND filters and only have them for the drone. I do have a mic for my DJI Osmo which does make a great difference of you can keep it attached. Last weekend I came down the MTB track and it came whanging off so might have to look at finding something extra to make sure that doesn’t happen again lol. I have all my setting in as presets but tend to shoot at 60fps just in case I want to slow film down. I’m now beginning to find the limitations of the camera but finding there is so much you can do when editing and that at times is the best option. I will say though that at the moment prefer still photography.

Yeah another thing that dictates equipment choices when you’re cycling! Not as straight forward as other filming scenarios 😂

Some good info in there, as always - thanks C366. I find the use of ND filter and slower shutter speed can give some great stills shots from my GoPro 11, but find this combo can sometimes impact the camera’s stabilisation owing to the slower shutter speed - have you had this issue? I’ve also considered an external mic, but there’s only so much faffing I can tolerate when out on the bike, so make do with a foam windslayer which does reduce wind noise and also offers a wee bit of drop protection. 👍

No worries! Yes it’s noticeable on off road sections I’ve found. If it’s smooth road then it’s not bad. That sounds good! I’ve found using a ride wireless is the least faffy way of doing it, that way you can leave the transmitter on the camera and have the mic mounted somewhere else 👍

I switched to dji action 4 few months back was unlucky with GoPro kept over heating and locking up happy with dji just got work out audio next

@@Cycling366 yeah i went through 3 camera setups in the last year .. canon gx7 III WITH RODE wireless go mic then switched to iPhones only good for transferring files easier then switched to dji mic drones camera all edited on iPad Pro .. just working out work flow now

ref the Sound on the go pro , having worked with PA systems & mics I find a cheap Gopro foam cover works really well for what I need .

Yeah it makes it better for sure, but if you want the absolute best it would make sense to get an external mic, but it’s a great fix. :)

I recorded my LEJOG a couple of years ago on my GoPro hero 8 that I was given for a present but I've never got round to learn how to edit it ,for some reason I just think it's going to be a headache .

Thanks for doing these videos ,Could you advise on how to get GoPro footage onto a pc for editing ? Do you save it on a SIM card & do it when you get home ? I find thr GoPro software rubbish .I've only got a GoPro 8 .

No worries mate! Yeah I don’t use the go pro software. Just get an SD card reader and you can copy it straight over. 👍
