This was really helpful! Being a new to kbp person the part that was most helpful was the part where you evaluated a current listing to see what might be problem areas within keyword searching. I would be very interested in seeing longer videos where you evaluated more books. You could either do random ones or maybe some of your viewers might link their books that aren't selling and you could evaluate those. Thanks for all you do!!

Hello. I’m thinking about selling books on KDP / Amazon. I have a question about paperback vs hardcover? My target audience is 2 to 5 year old kids. Do you think paperback is a good option for them, considering how easily paper can be torn by kids.

I think paperback is totally fine. We have lots of books for my daughter and most of them are paperbacks and I don't think she's ever ripped one. Sure some kids will but parents don't avoid buying paperbacks.

Hey Caroline, I love your channel I love that you take time to let us in on all of these terrific hints and ways to be successful ….I appreciate you! ❤I did have a question how do you feel about the word “unofficial” on the cover? I am working on a medium content book but will have popular characters from a cartoon for this activity book. I have visited all of the FAQs and even chatted and emailed and I can’t get an answer from Amazon on this!

She didn’t answer you but I think you could research the names of the characters you want to include in the book to be sure you won’t face any possible copyright or trademark roadblocks. I just don’t want you to work hard putting a lot of time in then get banned from kdp. That’s the worst.

DreamCreativeBee has some good videos about trademark. In another about Jade Summer she says using 'unofficial' won't keep you safe. She showed examples of people doing just that on their book covers, but when it looks too close to trademarked stuff, better stay far away.

Hi Caroline, great video as usual. I have a question on a copple of important spot in your video. Click+buy is the perfect combo, this is clear, while click without a buy impacting negatively sounds a little bit rigid. In a world made by impressions, clicks and sale, is there a desired ratio of events? from what you say it seems that if you don't make a sale every click your book will fall deep in the BSR, while normal life suggest that a 100% conversion rate is not realistic. DO you have any idea on what is a good conversion rate? Impression vs click and click vs sale? Thanks. It would really help

This is the message I got in my email I'm confused Hi! We checked your files and found issues you need to fix before your book can be published on KDP: Interior We noticed your book’s low-content classification was incorrect, so we corrected it. To publish your book, please 1) return to the “Edit Paperback/Hardcover Content” tab of your title setup, 2) update the “Print ISBN” option, and 3) re-submit your book. The low-content checkbox in the “Categories” section of title setup should be selected if your book contains little or no interior content, such as a journal, notebook or planner. Low-content books have different ISBN and distribution options, so it’s important to classify them correctly. Learn more about low-content books.

Re: the flower coloring book used as an example...would you use their current title as a subtitle? For ex.: Flower coloring book: botanical... I thought it was such a good description and though not used as often, it might well be used by some people in their searches. Thanks.

It is selling. But me personally maybe the subtitle. Flower or floral coloring book. Then Botanical minimalist. They are searching for that stuff it's bit trendy. Looking they put that up in sept it has sales. Could it be better? Maybe or not. Depend on how many ppl want a minimalist coloring book. So funny it popped up in the clip I personally just saw it the other day because it did pop up under floral coloring book search.

I should add so Amazon obv. picked up on the keywords floral and coloring book in the the title portion. It did. I thought it was kind of cool it was different. Great one to examine also for merch "Botanical Minimalist Coloring Book: 50 Simple, Aesthetic Floral Coloring Pages for Teens & Adults Perfect for Stress Relief & Relaxation " right to the point. name of book few other desc. That's it. When I started bad advice saying add as much book detail in the sub. ppl calling it keyword stuffing. Per merch I did very simple to the point title then that shirt sales almost daily. Others I had to throw in some keywords to help others. I was told the title main thing. Mostly straight to the point. It may pull a word then another it will popup in the search. People learned that decided to just copy my entire text in the listing sell a different shirt to try and confuse the system I guess. If they omitted the word floral they would be in trouble. Word flowers or floral had to be there because that is what that book is. They did ok there. It would not have shown up without floral unless it was there. Maybe on the keywords we put in addition that don't show up might help. Not sure.
