I'm in Melbourne Australia. I subscribed your channel several days ago. The day before yesterday I bought two different colour buddlejas. I didn't know those plants at all before, just like the name butterfly bush. Can you imagine how excited was I when I watch your vedio today. Did you make that for me?😂🤣
Welcome Grace! It is good to have you hear! Many new hybrids of butterfly bush are dwarf varieties, I forgot to mention it in my video. You will enjoy all the butterflies near your shrubs! Happy gardening!
@@OlgaCarmody Thanks for your information. I found perfect spots for them instead of planting them among the roses. I like your garden and the way you love your garden!
I actually have a magenta color to my butterfly bush. This year I noticed a branch coming out from under my Bluebeard bush (same family). I though first it was a shoot from that plant, they have similar leaves, just smaller. Well, much to my surprise this year, that branch produced a white butterfly bush! Now in the fall, I will dig it out and transplant it in another location. I felt like someone gave me a free gift! Birds are abundant in my yard, so maybe they brought in a present for me since I feed them....😁
Maybe you are right, birds gave you a free gift! I so look forward to the fall. We have huge stretch of days without rain here in CT, 12 I believe. Enjoy your Butterly bush, I love mine!
I took a White Buddleia cutting in July 2014. It didn't grow very well because of location and competition from other plants. I moved it in Autumn 2017 to somewhere sunnier and it grew beautifully. I have it on the top left of my channel homepage, sadly it died in May 2019 due to wood rott at the base. Luckily I had already taken a cutting from this plant in 2018 when it started to grow for me. This cutting is the one I have today and it is looking very healthy.
Hi great video thanks, I'm in the next state over in RI so we are neighbors....so the winters here are crazy for sure...one day could be in the 40s and then next day in the 20s...wind chills 10 below in the next....

Hi there, I am glad my videos are helping you in creating your wonderful garden! I am going to create a post where I will invite everyone to put their suggestions for future videos. And I will be closely filming everything I do with my roses this spring. As for zone 9 b recommendations ( your zone in Florida). Here is the link to roses which will flourish in that area -www.davidaustinroses.com/collections/roses-suitable-for-zones-8-to-9
