Hey Pamella, your Dendrobiums should do very well in your neck of the woods. Interesting that they are not blooming though. DM me so we can see what you could do differently as the dens tend to bloom all year round. Best wishes.

Hello there Ms. Pat. I totally agree with you them dens certainly knows how to make an orchid grower happy. They are taking back their places in the orchid world. Lol. I'm happy for your success in getting them to give you multiple spikes. I can't wait on my newly planted ones to become nice and blooming. Thank you for the complements. Cheers!
Hi Doc, I did enjoy that…very creative…I want to try the log idea…One problem I find with dendrobiums is that they attract thrips like wow ! Can you or any of your viewers who read this please share with us the best regimen for success…grateful always for your advice and tips….Blessings and nuff respect !
Hello Nano Mc. I'm happy you enjoyed. Thrips! I don't know if they really attract thrips more than any other orchids. I really don't have that problem. I would love to understand more about your care routine. Kindly send me an email charmkp@gmail.com so we can explore it some more. Looking forward to hearing from you. One love.🥂💖🙏
Hi there Jenny, I'm so happy you enjoyed and are learning from my videos. I love my Dendrobium orchids as well as they are so easy to grow. Thanks for watching. Cheers!!
I was one u was keeping my dens in the greenhouse until I found out how happy they can be outside. Urs are doing very well n u have some gorgeous specimens . Thanks for sharing
Hey Rosie, I know right!! And to think how they really enjoy being on the outside. I do have a wide variety, and some are really special. Happy you stopped by and I do hope you will also try growing them on the outside. Have yourself a blessed week. Cheers!!
When my dendrobiums grow up, I want them to be just like yours!!! Most of my Dens are babies. Probably I should have blooms by this time next year. My Dens and Phals are on my porch where they get the Eastern weather (sun, rain, winds).
Hey Lyn, I'm sure when your dens grow up they will be even more beautiful than mine. I just bought a few babies myself. I anxiously await on them to bloom. Based on where you have them, they should do pretty well for you. Happy growing!
Wow wow great ideas. Thank you. You have so many secret sections that I like how you just pop them in lolol. Amazing beauties. I love your concepts. And omg that green house! Doc you always suprise me. Falla backa me!!😀😀
Hey there Tarja, I'm happy you like the ideas. Lol. secret sections.. mmhh!! The greenhouse is where I grow my Dens. I keep them there because we tend to get a lot of rain fall at times which damage the plants. So I control the watering which I do mostly when the plants dries out. Happy you love the concepts and I am glad yuh a falla backa mi!! One love from Ja.
Very informative video as always I am so happy for the day when I subscribe to your video. I am so happy for this videos because my dendrobiums are looking good but not blooming as much so thanks for your ideas.
Hi Sherline, thank you kindly. I'm so happy that you are able to take something away from this video. Be careful as the direct sunlight may burn the orchids during the transition from indoor to outdoor. It has to be done gradually. Best wishes for plenty blooms. One love.
Hi 😊 Nice to see you. You have so many creative ideas mounting dendrobiums. You've given me some ideas too about what to do with the kekis. Your blooms are so lovely. My dendrobiums are taking so long to bloom, I've only been seeing lots of leaves for now but I'm hopeful. Your videos always give me so much inspiration with my orchids. Warm greetings from TnT 😎🌴☀️
It's always great hearing from you Nicole. I'm so happy you love the various ideas that I share and that it inspires you to get even more creative. I find that they gives more blooms during the summer, I do not have many dendrobium blooms now either. Just continue to do what you are doing and I'm sure they will reward you. Happy growing my Trini friend and one love.
Hi Kristy, I usually buys fern roots at the orchid shows when we use to have shows. There were usually men on the outside of the shows selling them on the road side.
@@growingorchidsinjamaica oh wow thanks for responding! I'm a novice to gardening, I just started taking care of my mom's orchids and now I have a collection of my own. I wish I got into it pre-pandemic to get into the shows / community. Nonetheless I'm enjoying your videos, they are very informative, creative and inspiring!
@@kristyminott2326 ok. You have entered into a realm that can become quite addictive. 😀 however you will enjoy it emencely. I'm happy you are enjoying my videos and I also appreciate your support. Be blessed. 🥂
Madam I have seen most orchid growers say keep your plants in a place where no direct sun light goes, but you have placed your plants under open sky where sun light goes directly, and your plants are so nice, how it is possible?I live in kolkata,w.bengal where the climate is almost same as Jamaica, here I have seen sun burn on my plant leafs also plant died of sunburn and over exposer of sun light. Please advice how I can grow my orchids well in my small flat of 1070sq.ft.area where no balcony we have in this flat.
Hello Golok, welcome to my channel all the way from India. Yes it is true most plants will grow best with filtered sunlight, however you can acclimate the plants to adopt to direct sunlight. This is done gradually over a time by exposing the plant to full sun for short periods each day and gradually increasing that. When you grow them in direct sun you have to water them a lot more than when they are grown in filtered light. Also the potting medium must include some water retentive medium. You may also use shrubs and other plants to filter the sun. I will aim to do a video on how to acclimate your orchids from shade to growing them into full sun. Thanks for your comments. One love from Jamaica. 🥂
