I went from a bob length (stuck lol) to hair to the middle of my back when I started eating better, taking vitamins, and drinking my gallon a day. I really don't do anything crazy to my hair specifically but I take better care of myself and my hair just grows like a weed. I never thought I could have long hair

I am a slim 13 year old, and I have around 3c/4a hair. My hair is not hard to grow, but if I don't do anything, it dries up, and of course wouldn't grow. If you are looking to grow you hair, first please change your diet! Eat enough protein, like meat, and nuts. I eat enough meat everyday. I eat atleast 4 almonds a day. And drink at least 4 cups of water. I make smoothies once in a while: 2 medium bananas, almond & coconut beverage and nuts. (Doesn't matter how many and what it is, but I prefer almonds and walnuts.) I have seen a significant difference. In two months, it has grew about 2 inches! Also, try to stay less stressed. I have been under stress for a year, and it weakened my hair, and made it look dull. If you are stressed or not, you should also do hot oil massages on your hair, it really works! I hope this works for you guys! (My tips)

I've been protective styling for a whole month now and i grew 1 3/4 inches!! I also started applying oil to my scalp every night. My dry scalp is gone! Before October I trimmed those ends too. My diet is the same, so it was a combination of protective styling and oil that grew my hair out! Oh and I started using the curl enhancing smoothie and a blend of oils to do the lco method.

For years I have eaten a healthy diet. As I became older I noticed that my hair was growing on one side but not the other. After a few years of trying different things I finally had my blood tested and discovered I was Vitamin D deficient mostly because I live in a cold weather state with little sunshine much of the year. I was put on a high dosage of Vitamin D3 and Collagen with Hyaluronic Acid (for achy joints) Within a couple of weeks my hair started growing all around and my joints much less achy. I have always prided myself on not having to take any meds including vitamins but I must say that as I have gotten older I found this necessary to help maintain a healthy body inside and out. I am an African American senior citizen and I have learned to always be willing to learn and try new things to help yourself as long as it is constructive.

Hi. Do you remember the name brand of the Vitamin D and Collagen supplement you were taking? As well as the dose? Was it D2 or D3? I heard D3 is better since it comes from animal food sources.

My Mom used to tell me to brush at least 100 strokes and she always had long beautiful hair. Now I know and realize its because brushing is equivalent to a massage and also getting dead cells off the scalp🤔 Just think our ancestors used to have to feel around in the dark for hair care, and now all we have to do is turn on a good RU-vid video😅

That's not true. Most Black gals always hot combing, perming, cooking and frying and messing around. Truthfully Black hair just doesn't want to be touched. That's why dreads grow so long. I don't wear dreads but I realized that our hair loves it's natural state. I used to where wigs and my hair grew so long that now I don't need any wigs. Our hair really doesn't want to be bothered at all. LOL

What GREAT advice!!! Of all the channels on Hair maintenance & growth advice, your list of tips, to me, seem like THE MOST logical, most attainable, just....obvious, but probably the most overlooked tips BECAUSE they are so obvious. But this is sum AWESOME advice!! My hair HAS been growing, but I know that it probably would do better minus my current heat exposure routine, so I will definitely be making adjustments to that. Also, the "messaging;" also great advice and I have recognized its benefits, I just haven't been consistent, so I guess I will have to kick in on that tip as well. Thank you so much for the gentle reminders! And by the way, your hair looks AMAZINGLY HEALTHY👍🏾 Thanks again!!

Massaging the scalp! It really does help! I chopped my hair about two months ago and it wasn't growing. I began cornrowing it, applying a mixture of avocado, vegetable and sunflower oil in between the cornrows and massaging. I've just been wearing wigs and i already am at a nice Afro! I also wet my hair at least twice a day and air dry or use a t-shirt to dry it. It's gotten more thick and less breakage! Also like she says drinking water more than soda and juice is great
@HappyWackyJacky101
@HappyWackyJacky101 7 лет назад
My hair is 4b/4c so it is hella nappy some days then nice and curly on others. I also wash it and condition with the cornrows still in, so it locks in whatever I need. I keep the cornrows for at least 1 week or even 2 weeks then take them out for a day to let my hair breathe and it grows more and more each time I do this

Arisellia without using heat, it's all about stretching out your curl pattern to get it straight, or at the very least, wavy. You can do a heatless blowout, braid out (then comb out your hair), hair stretching with the banding method. I found all this stuff out on YT :)

I usually roll my hair on large roller (pull it taut) and let it air dry. If you use indirect heat like a hair dryer (not blow dryer) on low, that'll work too.

TheChicNatural so you only clip your ends 2-3 times a year? I've heard mix reviews. My beautician swears I should do it every 6 weeks, then another lady said well we're natural, your hair sheds by itself. What do you think 👀
@thechicnatural
@thechicnatural 7 лет назад
Exactly. I only trim when/if it has been straightened. If your ends are not damaged or split I don't see a reason to get a trim as frequently as every 6 weeks. I would space it out until your ends show they need a snip...just my take on it.

I turned twelve March 23, 2017, and as my mom ironed my hair, I realized that my hair wasn't the actual length of how I wanted it. So then, I started searching through hair room looking for hair products best for my type of hair (frizzy). I found one thing , but it wasn't working, so eventually I starting thinking," how about I just use essential oils. I started using coconut oil, massaging it in my hair everyday then braiding it, and it's actually taking my hair a long way. I started doing this process for about 2 weeks with the coconut oil, and before my hair wasn't even passed the top of where my sports bra starts, and now it's almost, HALF, of where my bra is. And I'm so happy that my hair is finally growing the way I wanted it to. My goal is to grow out my hair, and by the time I'm 13 (next year), my hair will at least be as long as yours. You can also tell how frizzy my hair is in my profile picture. Thnx for such of all your loving support and tips for my hair.

What's with the 698 dislikes? People sure are something...else! She is telling what worked for her to grow it long and thick! And what MIGHT POSSIBLY work for others. What did these 698 people expect her to tell them? smh!

you can use almond oil and Jamaican black castor oil for hair thickening
@semmi98
@semmi98 7 лет назад
no not really, the thickness of your hair strands is genetics.

well i have seen many people who had thin hair use these oils and it has worked
@suckurathethirstybishgiggi8219
shannon jones it's not possible to thicken ur hair... It's genetics of how ur hair is originally... If u year thin hair ur hair will be thin
@JoyDejaKing
@JoyDejaKing 7 лет назад
Did you not watch the video. She said her hair has never been this thick. Which means you can thicken your hair. Maybe not the strands but the density can increase. When you're not taking care of your hair or giving your body the proper nutrients it needs hair follicles can be dormant but they can be reactivated which will make your hair thicker.

Ladies, everyone's hair grows. It's retaining length that is the problem. When your ends are breaking off while it's growing, it's going to appear that it's not growing. When your hair is in a protective style, your ends are protected so now it appears your hair is growing. Do not over complicate it! ^_^

You and your hair is beautiful I'm 62 and I stopped having relaxers 4 years ago and my hair is 13 in Long and thick but I do use supplements hair vitamins niacin biotin and I wear my hair in a protective bun or sometimes plaits I also do the rice water but in your case since you don't hardly do anything with your hair it could be genetics

I think there is a big misconception about to use heat...or not to use heat....I think with a lot of people its the frequency and how high ....less is more...

I love it to. I blow dry every 2 weeks when I wash. My hair still grows though. Doesn't seem to grow any slower then when I wasn't blow drying. I usually measure once a year to see how much it grew. My hair just tangles too much if I don't blow dry and I end up losing more hair when I wash and detangle. Been doing it for more then 2 yrs now and I have gone from 11 inches to a little more then 14 inches of hair recently so it doesn't seem to harm me much.
