re: finding a barber who can deal with longer hairstyles. go to a saloon for women! i went from a male barber who insisted on giving me fades and short cuts no matter what i asked for to a saloon with female hairstylists who knew exactly what it was i wanted and how to layer and thin ect. they're dealing with longer hairstyles all day so the quality of cut is much better.
I have a very thick head of fine straight hair. Your videos are life savers when it comes to growing my hair out. I've used your videos when I've grown it out in the past, and this one is on point 👌
Bruh, Job well done. This is exactly what I was looking for. And when you pulled out the 2nd mannequin and said “this might be you”, bruh THATS ME RN. Ever since the pandemic started and I wasn’t able to cut my hair, I just let it grow it. But I’m at this awkward stage. Thick as f. Puffy. But I really wanna grow my hair out long.
I have a nice “messy” look up until the awkward stage, then my hair just stands straight up. It’s so frustrating. 8 months was as long as I’ve gone without cutting it. I gave up because it looked stupid and everyone told me my hair is too thick to ever grow out like I was trying to do.
@@theawkwardguy2782 it’s so annoying getting picked on for your hair when you’re fully aware that it doesn’t look good 😂. I’m going to try again one more time. I’ve started using coconut oil in my (short) hair and it really helps with the frizzing and “standing up” so I believe it will help my hair fall once it has some length to it
@@HI-mb8th I started using coconut oil in my hair and it softened it up a lot, leading me to believe if I continue to use coconut oil as my hair grows longer (I’m only like 4 months in without a cut) then I shouldn’t have as much trouble with frizzing and “standing up”. Maybe you should try it out
@Jamie Gaskins keep it up!! Let's try it again! 4 months is actually good progress. I've just completed 2 months. Is your hair wavy or straight? Do you use to condition your awkward stage hair?
The only problem with layering and removing weight, is that if I want to put it in a man bun half the hairs will be sticking out! If you remove half the hairs, when they grow back they won't be able to reach the bun and you won't ever be able to tie it up. So unfortunately, this doesn't help me.
Sorry for asking but since when did he start growing out his hair? I dont regularly watch his videos but I stumble upon every few of his videos from time to time
@ haha yes. I have really thin and fine hair. If I keep it long it seems lifeless and I can't get volume. Plus scalp can be seen despite of it's length. I wish I could get thicker hair.
Some barbers here in the Philippines, don't know how to follow instructions, you instruct them trim your hair just to remove the split ends and they end up cutting your hair off. It's so hard to grow out your hair and do monthly trim when barbers around you only knows regular cutting and haircut.
@@zeldenok I would love to trim or cut my hair but I won't take risk haha. What I did was just let my hair grow out but sometimes I'm going to a salon not barber shop to do the trimming for me.
With everything going on right now i cant get to a hairstylist, do i really need to get the split ends cut? Or will it still grow and i can get then cut whenever?
@@Jay-nw6rr tbh i just had a friend take the very edges off my hair like so little that you could barely notice, but i dont think i needed to, unless your hairs really long theres no need. Just keep looking after your hair and be careful with it I guess
Again I appreciate your care and seriousness upon recommendation towards finding a hairdresser or barber who understands longer hair skills.. Oh God keep the razor out of my reach..!
finding the right hairstylist is really the answer. i used to go to barber but they just cut according to templates, like they use the same technique in every type of hair which is not working for me. i have a very thick and wavy hair. i dont judge every barber the same but that's according to my experience. but now i go to a hairstylist that assess my hair type my hair condition first before he cut it and always asking what i want and just communicate until we met on the same page. and I'm more then glad with the result.
Hi Steven, I've been growing my hair out. My inspirations have been Jake Gyllenhaal, Brad Pitt at this year's Oscars, & Cole Sprouse. May you do videos of their haircuts (When their hair is gown out, not tapered undercut) ?
Finally I know how to verbalize my idea to the stylist. I have extremely thick hair that just resembles a lion mane when it grows out, and I just want less volume but not short hair.
Thank you so much for this video . Please make a video on Essentials to have and do when growing thick hair to Long , how hard that awkward stage of hair growing, should I have thin comb or thick comb or a brush, should I blow dry it everyday , what type of dryer to use, how often to oil and which products to apply
Mines like an inch or two longer than the 2nd mannequin & I mean everywhere not just the back or front/sides. I look like I’m in the late 60’s early 70’s rn n I need it longer to get it to the mid to late 70’s look
Helpful. I will just need to find someone and stay patient. My hair gets like a helmet. I'm also now in my 50's and I feel like my hair is changing in texture or something so I figured I might change it up for once.
Hey Stephen, first of all, thanks for your videos! You are the best with all the topics about hair. Also, can you do a video about how to grow out thin hair? I am doing this and now I have 8 months, the only advice that I have with that hair is to use a pomade without shine to achieve a good hairstyle with a little bit of volume and not like gel. It's the worst hair, hahaha but still love it
I have excatly the same hair as the 2nd mannequin. I have been growing it out for 4 months now from a barber cut and really planning to grow it out for about 1-2 years
Hey there, I have been growing my hair for a year now, pretty sure it’s thick hair but it’s gone to a mullet at the back and looks to square like, I’m not sure what to do!! Advice would be appreciated!
Trying to grow out my hair and keep it as healthy as possible by only shampooing 3 times a week and cleaning it with cold water in the shower. I would like to use one of your products (hustle), but I dont want to have to wash my hair every time I use it. How can I use product to shape my hair while still not using shampoo/conditioner every day to clean it out? Love your videos btw! :)
Hey Stephen! make a video on 80's jheri curl hairstyle especially michael jackson had during thriller era also jermaine and many other artists at that time used to rock the same...
Can you do a video on how to cut bangs with a cowlick in the corner,I keep having the corner cut out when I have my bangs trimmed, three different stylist
Hello, could you do a video on french braids like asap rocky, travis scott etc,how to get them what type of hair type can rock them and how to trim hair so it can look the best for braids.Thank you very much.Love your content. :D
Hi my name is Andrew, Love your Videos about Hairstyles n Haircut 😊 watching your videos is helpful 👍, I'm being growing my hair for like 4 months now 🙋 , I haven't cut it since then n now it's a bit long now oh yeah I'm from Tonga 🇹🇴 😅 ps love your videos 👍😊😊🇹🇴
Hi. I have thin hair and am growing out my hair. I usually oil my hair in the night and wash it off with a mild soap. I carefully dry my hair with a towel and while it's still damp i use sea salt spray and lightly blow dry it so it looks bit thick. Can you please give any tips on how I densify my hair.. are there any supplements or serum which can help my hair to become dense. Appreciate 😊
A lot of it depends on finding the right stylist but ALSO taking care of your hair by eating the right vitamins. Fish oil and multivitamins are a must-have, otherwise you'll end up with really shitty hair.
My hair is so thick and wavy and not that straight bcoz i have curl a lil bit. My question is if i let my hair grows out. Does my hair grow downward? Its thick and i know its crazy i dont even use any products to style my hair bcoz my hair stay up and it doesn't even move lol.
The hair on my sides grow straight out no matter what I do. My tends to look horrible only a few weeks after getting it cut. I need help. Any suggestions?
Use a high hold pomade while it’s growing my hair is exactly like that to I used pomade and my stays down and in place for the rest of the day keep doing that for a while or until the hair grows long enough to weigh itself down and it should start going down I slick all my hair back and the sides have started to flatten
Very beautiful presentation and so on point. You are passionate and intelligent so everything is beautiful. I wish you were in New Zealand to cut my hair.
Thank you so much for this! As soon as I saw that mannequin with the medium hair and you said "this might be you" I knew i found the right video lol. I thought growing my hair out would be easier than having it shorter but i was wrong i guess 😂
I’m currently growing out my thick wavy hair. I’m at that length 1:40 right now, maybe a little bit shorter. The top is usually easy to manage but the sides get too bulky at certain stage. I’m helpless...
Melhora MUITO a aparência.
Tried to grow my hair out 4 times, hit the 7-8month mark and it’s just impossible. I look like I’m wearing a bike helmet. Trying again now due to Covid lockdown etc, I want John snow hair! but have 80’s George Michael 😂
So I’m growing out my hair from a combover style. I would get a bald fade on the sides, but now that I’m growing out my hair the left side is way longer than my right side. I can’t get a trim due to being quarantined so idk if I should trim it myself or just just leave it
Ibz24s I didn’t trim it and it’s actually working out a lot better. I thought it was the side of my hair but when I parted it correctly it’s actually on the top of my head and falls to the side. Happy I was patient lol 😂
Kevin Ramirez when you go to your barber/stylist after the quarantine make it clearly obvious you want absolutely no length taken off, just the hair tidied up. Many barbers will just start chopping at your hair. Also, try going to a salon. Me, as a barber, I’m used to cutting 10-15 bald fades a day and when I get a longer hair haircut I kind of just want to get it done with :) just the honest truth lol
what about thick curly hair? i don’t want my hair to grow up like a fro i want it flowing down like jesus but curly u know my hair is not insanely curly and nappy it’s like loose curls but the layers just makes my hair stand and looks like a fro
My hair literally is the same as that mannequin but I never had the patience nor do I like wearing hats during the weird phase. I’ll be looking for a hair stylist.
ive finally growing out my hair, but because its so thick and heavy it just looks kinda flat. im gonna wait until its all longer until i get layers to reduce the weight, just gotta get through the akwardness until then
Hey is there any tips on when your thick hair is grown like mine I grew once and I wanted it like Christian bale or Bradley Cooper and high grant but my hair won’t loose volume at all it just stays up no matter how long it was
