I have thick AND wavy hair... I use the shears on my hair and have no problems with frizziness. I have Type 2 curl. Thanks for this video though because I was using the shears wrong. I was wondering why I was always having spots taken out of it and now I know why! Thanks
my hair is insanely thick. i used thinning shears all the way to the scalp, and had to chop 10 times per section to remove the bulky weight. sounds ridiculous but it’s the only way for me to actually get some movement in my hair
@@masonfreed9823 when your hair is thinner it has less density and over all has a less set structure, allowing you too shake your head and move your hair unlike thick hair where it’s dense and ruff making the hair stay in the same place
@ZxraRxses oh ok. Here's a video about curly hair using thinning shears like the ones in this video. I just googled " thinning shears for curly hair " ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9WsA_cH40V0.html
"It's almost like liposuction...." Haha, I burst out laughing! Thank you for this tutorial! Gives me hope that I'll finally get my thick hair the way I want it!
i bought a pair of sharp scissors + thinning shears and comb in a set for 20 bucks and i just finished thinning out my hair. It made my hair feel so much lighter and just healthier looking overall. Definitely worth buying it if you have thick hair like me.
Great video! My hair is super thick and short. Just had my hair cut with thinning shears only. Big surprise to me it turned out great! I am in my 70's and have always had scissor cuts. I had razor cuts many years ago and they always came out totally flat and boyish. I like some spikiness and a feminine look. Thank you for the video!
thank you!!! My children have wanted me to cut their hair for the last 20 + years. Both have thick hair. I do want to invest in the indicated tools. Thank you so so much!!!❤
man, razors are the best for thinning out, i do it with my hair system after i get a haircut i thing it out myself to blend it even more with my bio hair, u r the best!
Do you recommend using the razor or thinning shears for a homecut? Or possibly both for different sections of your hair? My hair is exactly like the second mannequin's and it drives me crazy as I'm growing it out and dont want to spend $50 a month for touch ups at the salon.
Salon guy, your very helpful and extremely through. I have been watching your shows for a while now, and haven't seen if you do bleaching, and color, or tinting. My mother was a beautition, and would have really loved your show, thank you for all the great tips, and lessons!!
Thank you for sharing & getting straight to the point! Instead of a long 15 min story what inspired you blah blah blah. It’s hard trying to find the right video, you just gained a new follower and I’m definitely checking out your Amazon page 😁
My hair is very thick and course and very straight. It seems to grow outwards as well as down and my hair just gets bigger and bigger lol. Until I can get to my hairdresser I am going to try your suggestions, thanks.
My is naturally very tightly curled. I have had it thinned since I was 12. There is no difference between naturally frizzy and your "frizz pot". You have to always take extra special care to give your naturally curly hair all of the moisture it needs to avoid excessive frizziness.
I bought a pair of thining sheers last week and was searching RU-vid for a good tutorial like this one. Didn't find much help at that time so I decided to wing it. Atleast after this video I can do it properly next time
💖 Thank you soooo much!!! Wonderful way of teaching and showing -- simple, and easy to understand. 💖 This is EXACTLY what I need and what I want. I have been buzzing & bleaching my own (Asian) hair. I've gotten that process down to where I feel confident after a few months of doing it. I did want to get to a very short pixie cut with lots of layers so it will 'lay down' (my hair naturally sticks up & poofy), Seeing this video I now have the tools and technique to pixie myself!
Hi Stephen, could you please make a haircut tutorial and styling tips video for Agust D's new music video 'Daechwita'. The part where his hair is black. Unless ofcourse you've already made a video for that hairstyle. I'm sure it will get you a lot of love if you consistently make videos about new hairstyles of kpop artists tho ;)
Very nice tips. I don't have thic hair and once back in 2017, a barber used thinning scissors on my hair and overdid it on top of that. Back then I wasn't aware of thinning scissors. You can imagine what happened afterwards. RIP hair 😅
I have thick as hell asain hair I can't do any haircut other than buzz cut( ive tried other before and it doesn't look good and is also a pain in the ass to get ready everyday) I need this video I want to try other hair style.
My country just reopened barbers again and my I haven’t cut my hair in a while it was puffy started to split I was growing out but couldn’t trim it because of the corona but let me tell you he thins my hair from the back and he layers it cutting the dead hair and removing under the sides and behind I came out of the barber looking like John B to be honest I just saw results lady’s and gentlemen I started my hair was rough and not smith started to shampoo and condition every other day and go get a trim every month and I think I finale found the length that I like but the thining part was so great
I’m only 11 but my hair is so thick when I’m trying to grow it the sides and the back of my head are just gonna grow the same speed so I have to get them cut specifically the back and sides of my hair and I’m lowkey tryna get a perm ad my hair is thick and dry like it’s so annoying because I haven’t got a hair cut in months and my hair is pissing me off so much
You have convinced me that I should jist wait till I can get a hair cut, my sides and back of the head need thinning as they are rounded but ill end up with no hair or chunks taken out. I will however tell my Barbar about twisting the hair when thinning it when I DO get a haircut ahhhh. Thanks
I'm a white guy and have always had thick course hair, it's not curly just thick and I've always wanted thin hair like everyone else in my family, I got my Grandfathers hair. I've got cousins looking like Kurt Cobain and I'm rocking dirty blonde Colonel Sanders hair. So I've always rocked the High and Tight look. How can I fix this or am I just stuck with hay straw hair?
Ok if you have very coarse and dry hair i'll tell you what you need. Leave in conditioner. Hair mask (Trust me on this, you will notice a difference from the first use) Styling cream. A shampoo FOR dry/damaged hair (your hair probs isnt damaged but it just helps smooth it out) Do not use any waxes/clays. You already have a shittttt ton of volume and cream is what you need to smooth out the hair. Do not comb your hair with a fine comb, it will make it so frizzy. Do not wash your hair with hot water and if you do, rinse it with cold water after you're done. Use a t-shirt instead of a regular towel to reduce frizz. If your hair is short (4 inches or less) and you're not growing it out, blow dry it every day. It will give you really smooth hair and shouldn't take more than 5-10 minutes. It wont damage your hair if you get regular trims but make sure you dont burn your hair to a crisp lol.
I'm needing to get the top of my head to get thin I get hot faster cause I feel the sweat beading up on the top of my head and around my face don't know if it's thicker up there. Had my hair cut and thinned out in back of my head but it's the top of my head that sweats so much!
My hair is pretty thick and puffy from the top it has a lot of volume which makes it hard for me to grow out my hair because it just goes up my hair is also frizzy my hair is a big pain in the ass. Any help ? Pls
Question: My hair stylist only used a razor to thin out my hair. I’ve got long thick naturally wavy to curly hair( more curlier in my 50s). I’ve never had a razor used and it just doesn’t seem thin enough in some areas. Should I go back? Gaaa, hate to! Lol! Should she only use a razor?
"This for men who have this issue...." . lol, I wish I have this issue. I'm partially bald wearing a hair system. I was looking up videos on how to thin my hair system out. D@mn I envy men with this issue.
Mine is really thick and very corse but also has a natural wave not curly but wavy i wear my hair in a skin fade with a type of crop with messy fringe but it grows so fast so looks good for a day then the top os already puffy again
Old video but for those coming across this now what he says about not advising doing this with curly hair is wrong in my opinion. I have curly hair and the only way to get your hair to sit flat on your face is to thin it out and razor it.
How long does it take to grow back ur hair after thinning it ? I want to thin out my hair with these shears but I don’t want to make the wrong desison bc what if it never grows back?
Agree with Kyle. You're cutting the hair not removing the hair follicle, which keeps on producing. Expect every week your hair will have a slightly different look. I "tune up" my locks every few weeks.
