Thank you for uploading this. I'm not a weave/wig person, I just prefer my own hair. I'm 6 months in on my heat training journey, so I'm going to install some cornrows soon on my natural hair and try to keep those in for about 2 months. (So basically protective style every 6 months.) Besides that once a month I just wash, heat style, bun, repeat. I wear my hair down on Sundays for church though. Oh and I wear cute headscarfs a couple of days out of the week, and loose bun styles. Not too tight, I switch up how the bun is positioned, and I don't feel the need to lay/slay my edges. My hair is thriving so far. Thanks to you for sharing your journey and tips!
Mo'Love2you sus I do... my edges were the thing I MISSED THE MOST FROM HAVING RELAXED HAIR... besides the convenience and now I’m seriously considering perming them...
I have heat trained hair, I wash and condition with redken all soft and deep condition once a week only, no moisturizing in between. I do roller sets and air dry with them and flat iron only with ceramic tourmaline every 2 weeks, but i can go for upto 2 months without flat iron because of the roller sets. Finally I wrap my hair at night or keep it wrapped during the day if Im not going anywhere. I have minumum shedding and no breakage.
asya smith I use the roller sets to air dry, that way I skip the need to blow it out. It usually takes 3 hours for it to dry and then I flat iron it. If I don’t flat iron my hair I wrap it every night and that keeps it straight for the most part the entire week.
This is great! I prefer to wear my own hair. However, I’m doing protective styling for 2020 but I’m debating on what to do for summer. It’s way too humid to straighten my hair in summer time, but I don’t want braids! 😩 I’m thinking maybe a kinky/curly sew in with just a small leavout.
The curly sewin sounds so cute!! You could even try a rod set if you want to give the protective styles a break! Let me know how your protective 2020 styling goes! I would love to hear about it!
Sierra LaFaye I’ll definitely let you know! I need a sew in that’ll match my texture so I’m hoping the kinky curly will blend perfectly. My hair is medium length (not at shoulder length yet) so I don’t really like rod sets because it looks too short.
Definitely do a hydrolyzed protein treatment! It will help seal your ends to help them from not breaking as much, and the following time you do your hair, do a deep conditioning treatment. Here's the protein treatment I swear by: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DGJM37U/ref=as_li_qf_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=sierralafaye-20&creative=9325&linkCode=as2&creativeASIN=B00DGJM37U&linkId=6ea84fba94080fbf98e7a5e02109f330
Hello, I am new to the whole heat training style. Would you mind doing a video of what to expect your first time? My hair is virgin and when I tried two weeks ago, my hair came out straight but not even two seconds later it puffed, so I wasnt sure if it was because, its something I have to keep doing every two weeks “hence” training my hair, but I have had my hair straight before and it is normally pretty obedient, not sure what I am doing wrong. Please advise thank you 😁
That's a great video idea! I'll def work on it! The reason it probably puffed is because your hair is not use to being straightened. Also it's the spring so it may not be the easiest weather to start. But don't lose hope, if you get yourself on a schedule you''ll start to see your hair will frizz less and less after each straightening process :)
Sierra hope you are doing well. I hope my trip to Germany is not cancelled because of the virus, I check my flight I am still good for June so far. Take Care and always stay cool.
I’m still learning what works best with my hair . My hair loves deep conditioning. I usually keep my hair in a bun also . Thank you for the tips 💕. I’m new to your channel. I have a channel also if you can join and check out mines 😊
