You can purchase the Steadfastener at www.steadfastener.com. We do international shipping! Picture hanging specialist shows the only safe way to hang seriously heavy mirrors into hollow or dry walls. Please subscribe to us on RU-vid and visit picturehanging.co.nz or www.steadfastener.com.
The Steadfastener bracket set is specifically designed to fasten heavy mirrors and artwork into 'hollow' walls. Locating studs is no longer necessary. In fact it's perfect for hanging a heavy mirror into a wall with no stud. The Steadfastener distributes the weight of heavy items when secured into plasterboard only. It can also be used in most 'cavity-slider' walls without obstructing the sliding door. This heavy duty mirror and picture frame hanger has been tested to hold up to 100kg - see our our videos to show the test.

thanks for that NZ. Ive already stuck it up a few weeks ago - looks good - but my brackets can be seen... i used a flat type that with 3 screws required - fixing directly into the back of the mirror and wall... works and doesn't look too bad! :)

Mirror mastic is also a good way to reinforce a mechanical installation

Hey jesusfreak1975, there are no 'flush' mounting brackets. But if there is a recess in the back of the frame, then fittings/brackets can be positioned within said recess. Alternatively one can router out a recess into the back of the frame (provided frame is wooden). The downside of this is that one runs the risk of bursting out thru the front of frame.

Does the mirror hang flush from the wall, or is it slanted. When view from the side can you see the metal sticking out from the wall?

No matter how substantial your brackets are secured (wall/top of frame), if the frame is of weak construction (like the stapled miter joints on yours) the weight of the glass can stress/break the frame over time. Glass is heavy (if it's 1/4" as it should be for functional large mirrors) it should be supported by a piece of angle at bottom for secondary support. (or j-rail if no frame) or sit close to or on backsplash w small rubber shims). Get assistance from qualified persons if in doubt.

Hey norm4260, yup but there's about 5 inches of bracket to slide before it drops out. I take advantage of this option for correcting its position, should I need to move it either left or right.

Hi good video. Only one thing about this method I noticed is that the mirror doesn't sit flush to the wall at the top. Can you recommend brackets that would achieve a flush finish to the wall? Thanks

If you made in thinner it be better. So it be more flush to the wall.

Wish I would have watched this video before I hung a large mirror in my living room. Is it normal for the top of the mirror to be further from the wall than the bottom?

OK you are hanging a large mirror, but my mirror is a little bigger. I have ordered it and with a frame around a 10.16 cm the finished size will be 2.4383 Meters width and 1.8288 meters tall. The mirror's thickens ( just glass) is 6.35 millimeters. So this is going to be a little heavier. If you look on the back of yours, your backing is flush. I have around 1.27 centimeters gap between mirror and wall if the frame is flush with the wall. Got any ideas. Dry wall with wood studs

If you nudged the mirror sideways it would slide off the bracket?

Glue them to the wall. Glass companies you purchase the mirror from usually provide an installation service.

Send me a photo of the reverse of the mirror and I'll be able to give more accurate advice. But from your description The fittings that you saw me use on youtube will do or you'll need to make a 'builder's cleat'. Send me through a photo.
