+Tampatec Hey Tampa. Why does the TV have to be 50 inches from the floor of the wall wear you marked it? I ask because I'm putting up my tv this week. its a 48 inch tv and I have a full motion mount
@sauer800
@sauer800 8 лет назад
+Leroy Williams he used 50 inches because thst was the height of the dresser that will go underneath the tv. the tv will look like it's floating just above the dresser.

I've watched a dozen of these videos and you're the only one who explained the installation of the brackets to the TV. Everyone just focuses on the installation to the wall. Thank you.

I appreciate your video. I saw it today in the morning and got all the necessary tools and equipment especially those break away toggle screws, man those helped out alot. The tv mount had thier own anchors and screws but were a bunch of crap. I did a 42 inch tv in the bedroom and then I did a 60 inch for the living room, my wife helped me for that one. Man, my back hurts, but you saved me some money and I gained some experience. But hopefully never again. Too much money on two wall mounts

Hey Dude just want to thank you for the video it took me and my son about 1/2 hour to get his 60 inch mounted. There's no need for anyone to have someone do this for them if they watch your video again thanks.

Hey, I'm an installer dude. Your video/advice is great and safe but I have some tips. 1. open a small hole first (somewhere the TV will hide) to see if there is some random pipes or wires. Usually you have to open a single gang hole anyways to run electric. 2. 200 pounds in drywall doesn't sound right. Unless you put in 6 of them spread out as much as possible throughout the bracket 3 You can usually shift the mount over to catch the next stud and still center the TV where you need (sometimes).

Thanks for the video - I am planning on getting a 50" LCD HDTV flat screen (they really aren't that much more expensive than plasmas these days) and your video is very helpful n lets me know what I need to consider. My room has an interior wall and an exterior wall and I was debating on which wall to put it on (either one would be fine actually viewing-wise) but thanks to your vid showing that interior walls usually have studs every 24" I will probably install on the outer wall to catch 2 studs

Thanks for the video it really helped me - I was having trouble figuring out what to use for strong enough support because my other side didn't hit a stud. Those zip toggle things ( sorry I can't remember the proper name) are brilliant. Heading to home deep-pockets now for those AND the magnetic stud finder. Genius. Thanks again!

I needed this video so bad. I have a used tv mount and no idea what hardware I needed to put it back on a wall built exactly like this. Thanks for making this. I also laughed so much when you were like "let's test it" then literally jumped on the wall haha "oh he means REALLY test it.." 🤣

Thanks, this was really helpful. Why did you put the left set so close to the center of the mount? It seems to me that if you'd used one of the places farther to the left, you would have been able to mount the entire thing directly into your studs.

Tamapatec, I will get my 40' Samsung LED tv that I got from BestBuy next week and the the wall mount and magnetic stud finder that i got from amazon at the end of this week and I want to do it myself. I was wondering is the tv suppose to come with the materials like bolts and screws. If so what other things accessories or materials, that don't come with the tv or wall mount, am I suppose to acquire. An impact drill is probably one right?

good directions, how large a TV will that particular wall bracket hold. I recall some people ripping out sheetrock just to "hide" the brackets and rebuilding the wall, I never mounted my TVs before because of this. since I won't do that for any reason, aesthetic or otherwise, my wires can dangle, I don't care! I'd prefer to get that bracket you have there, if it holds 60" TV's which mounts externally rather than inside the wall. Got a 60 " on order and want to be practical.
@dylandjm99
@dylandjm99 8 лет назад
for that bracket you can go 32" from a beam and have both in beams.The first bolt don't have to go in that slot you put in.Use the first one or second ,No need to put in pilot hole either if using a power drill.

Thanks posting this. I have the exact same problem. My studs are NOT 16 inches apart. I already drilled into the dry wall on one side and into a stud in the other. Thanks for the tip about the toggle bolts. Now I know how to fix it. Love that Spiderman move at the end! lol :-) I would try that, but don't think I have that kind of core strength, lol.

Great job on explaining and getting right to the point. My question to you is would drywall toggle bolts be enough for a 55in. tv or do i have to at least hit one stud? And should I use more than just four bolts
@TampaTec
@TampaTec 11 лет назад
if you use 6 toggle bolts by togglers 3/16th they are rated about 150pds, but i would still try to mount one side to a stud then other use togglers. i do this for living. if you just have a tilt mount and 55inch led tv you should be fine.

What would you recommend for an articulating wall mount into a plaster wall for a 47 inch LED TV (28.9lbs)?
@TampaTec
@TampaTec 11 лет назад
if using any "motion arm" mounts "articulating" must mount into studs cause people will be moving it often. so use 2x 3inch zinc wood screws in at Least one stud and 2x in drywall snap 3/16 togglers .

Informative video, but your mount looks to be over 24 inches with plenty of slots for mount screws, so why didn't you use the studs, rather than hollow wall anchors?

I think the spacers are to be used if the back of the tv is curved and not flat. They are not intended to improve air circulation but I'm sure it helps. I'd be inclined not to use them unless absolutely necessary as it only adds depth to the tv and it sticks out from the wall more.
