Hi from the UK. New sub. Happy new year. I wonder if you have any use for de shelling your eggs. I used to do this years ago when breeding various marine fish. We had some problems with fry eating egg shells and getting a gut impaction and dying reducing our survival rates. We would soak the eggs in bleach until the shells dissolved then neutralise the bleach with sodium thiosulfate. Then hatch as normal. Voila no shells. Just inner membrane. Anyway, I thought I would share as the information may help some body. Or perhaps a subject for a video.

Just for your information, Light is required for two reasons. Firstly its acts like a trigger to all the eggs to hatch and you will see the time range reduces for the hatch, ost of the eggs will hatch the same time, Secondly THE MOST IMPORTANT REASON WHY LIGHT IS REQUIRED is because the brine shrimp will synthesize protein when they are rehydrated and exposed to light, atleast inital six hrs of light exposure is required so that you can have the nauplii with a high protein content. Hope this helps Regards Aquadisc Oceans

I've started growing daphnia and I'm enjoying feeding live food to my fish. I've heard you and Dean discuss feeding baby brine so many times but it always seemed like too much unless you have a big fish room but this video definitely shows how it can be possible for smaller scale too. But you really need to get a sieve available for use for us small time hobbyists. If I only want to hatch a small amount of shrimp eggs I will still have 2 liters of water and all that salt mixed with it so separating the shrimp from the hatch brine would become very important if I only had a couple of tanks I want to put it in.

I have recently been using that Fritz RPM (Reef Pro Mix). I have been keeping fish over 50 years now, and have used many brands of salt, and I really like the RPN. It tends not to clump when you store it, although keeping humidity away from the mix is important. It dissolves very quickly. I'm using it for my reef tanks, brackish tanks, and for hatching brine shrimp.👍

You've been a huge help. I had to opt for a 25W aquarium heater (Ran into the issue of the plugin and temp adjuster not fitting, so I pulled a warranty no-no and cut the cord and rewired it...working like a charm so far... but again, I don't advise that unless you're an electrician or an electrical engineer). Was one of those pesky 7 internal wire cords, easily could have killed the unit. The one thing I have to dispute is that an incandescent lightbulb is a "cheap" heater, maybe in the cost of the lightbulb, but power costs and the annoyance of constant adjustments quickly overpowers any price advantage. With the exception of heating, fish keeping is a fairly low-power hobby for most. I came from raising tilapia in Wisconsin winters and it was ridiculous - I invested into ice fishing instead. Didn't add the little bit of line to my air tube, but I will when I clean the Ziss out (have to make minor adjustments to the heater cord so it stayed centered anyways), but luckily I did order some of your tubing and honestly, I love it just because you were smart enough to use quality black tubing with stretch, it's the best I have worked with so far. That said, I should see mine hatch in some odd hours - I learned goldfish have teeth in the back of their throats while researching brine shrimp... I never would have guessed, but it explains a lot.
