Ooh, I was never able to get my hen to move to a new coop when my hen get broody. In fact it felt so stressful seeing how unhappy she was with the move, I let her stay in the nesting box with the others. I will try this method next year when my hen get broody.
I so love your video ! I have a broody hen I got her some eggs to sit on and she has been loyal to them ! They started to hatch out today and got to see 1 chick poke out from under her plumes of feathers 😍 I didn't move her thou as it was a nest house inside the main coop I was able to close it off so she was solo. Honestly I was worried she wouldn't sit on them for a move but once they all hatch I will move them to a new coop set up for chicks I hope she will still want them!

She has two so far that I have seen and 1 was drinking water ohhh that was so adorable They are so tiny little bits of cuteness 💖 I think momma will want to move with them she's still waiting for a few to hatch . She kicked out 1egg today so that leaves 4 eggs left to hatch ... I'm hoping that they hatch 🐣
Wow i thought my broody hen was difficult with eggs We took plastic eggs and put them under her so we can have the real ones but she just nudged the real ones over to her egg box and picked out the plastic ones Your may not be as difficult but mine would attack the others that would come visit her. Our polish hen likes to cuddle with her in the egg box and the hen is hysterical and growls super loud
Do you have to isolate the hen with the eggs if there are more chickens in the coop I have 3hens 1 rooster and 1 broody hen with her eggs and I don't want the others to hurt the chicks when they hatch hat should I do?
We have a rooster, so all of our eggs should be fertilized. Can I just not collect eggs for a few days and put them all in one of the nesting boxes and see if one of my hens will go broody with them?
Have u had a broody hen eat or break eggs had 12 eggs under a hen for 5 days now there's only 9 do they know that the eggs might not be good or not fertile? Denis
I’ve had that happen and only one or two hens that did. I’m not sure why they do that. That is not a good broody, in my opinion, unless there is a good reason (accidentally smashing, etc.)

we had an unsuccessful chick hatch with our broody hen nugget it was heartbreaking for me because I was at my grandmas and they had broken the eggs I was crying on my bed and company was over
I can’t remember, but I probably just have 2 there to see if she’s serious about setting and to get her attached to the eggs. Then I give her the eggs I want her to hatch when I move her.

Adeel khawaja A hen will sit on eggs in a pretty small cage. It she needs to room to get out and walk around. My broody hens hatch in areas that are from 24”x30-36” but also have access to a run area all day. I hope that helps. You could use a smaller cage (nest box size) as long as she can get out of it when she needs to.
Gallo Plumas The other hens will lay eggs in that nest. The smiley faces let me know which eggs stay and which one to take. 😀. Plus, it’s just cute. Lol
