My lady just bought a left hand drive one of these and the fans blew yesterday... today, they no longer blow. Cheers for this. I'll let ya know tomorrow or Thursday when the unit come home much much I sweat fitting this little git in August in Spain... Cheers for the share. ✌️❤️🤘🤙🖖
Very helpfull video. Thanks for that. I have to add that you can easy put out the resistor module without disassambling all that stuff. Just lay down and put your arm inside air intake. After that, I found the problem. It is a smal part - thermal fuse - you can easy put a copper wire insteed of this element, but you can buy it. It is 4Amp 144deg. Celsius. I have add on that is 144deg 10Amps. And all works so nice. This is if you have board with 3 resistores and one themral fuse perpendicular to resistores.
Piggy Power for bulgarian living standards 30 euro + going to local Peugeot dealers is a lot of money. Hear this peace of junk cost not more not less 30 euro. Today I bought the thermal fuse for 0,5 euro.
just done this on my sons car. Old part was a simple fix, centre pin had come apart, but you can if you have slim arms just about get your hand up through the pedal area, twist it out, pull down then using the same hand, undo the wire from it. It's a bit tricky, but with patients you can do it, then reconnect with one hand again, push back up, pushing the wiring loom back with it, into its location and twist back in. :)
I find as theres no screws, those two top panels take seconds to get off/on and actually make it quicker...I can't get my forearm/fingers to twist and undo the plug one handed!

My fans work on 1st, 2nd and 3rd settings but it does not work on 4th setting anymore? Is this issue can be fixed with replacing the same part showed in the video? @@PiggyPower
Hi there. Stupid question incoming- if my heater fan is only working intermittently (cuts in and out randomly) but when it is working I can still change the amount of air then is it safe to assume it's not the resistor that's faulty? Cheers!
Sounds like the motor itself is on the blink. Try giving the dash near the motor a thump when it next doesn't work. If it fires up, probably the motor brushes worn or sticky/dirty
Hi , thanks a lot for your video, you gave me a great idea how to do it and I manage to take it out as you said, just from underneath, some scratches in my hand and even welded the little copper tongue that have came off from one side. It solved the problem. Hope it last if not I know how to swap it now. Thanks a lot from Wales. Gus
The much faster way is remove the glove box about 6 screws look up you will see the heater fan remove the screw holding this in place then twist the motor and it will come out.Look down inside the ducting that the heater motor has just come out of you will see the heater resistor .Get your arm down the ducting twist the resistor and it will come out unclip the wiring plug and out it comes .About half hour done..
Might be a different model. On my 307, the plastic plug the resistor sits on faces the passenger (left) side and you get to it from that side. Its a bit of a squeeze still, but a lot easier than the one on yours.
Hi mate I have a 2001 3 door 206 heater blower motor isnt getting any power fuses are ok we have changed the fan motor it it's still now working do you know where the resistor is for it is has the digital aircon control panel
Great video! Thank you! Before I start pulling my 206 apart, the blower in mine has stopped working completely, although it did randomly work for a few hours the other day then stopped again. The AC/heated screen buttons still work as normal, it's just the blower that's died. Do you think it's likely the resistor has failed or something else? I changed the fuse and it did nothing.
i see you showing a shiny part at 0.49, but i don't know which bit you replaced on it. then the rest of the video was you accessing some blue thing. i don't get it - is the shiny metal part inside that blue thingy? which bit on the shiny part did you replace, and how?
@Piggy Power i think it did. i watched about ten videos now that all say they are for a Citroen Xsara Picasso, but i see some distinct differences - 1)LOCATION either they access the blower inside the bonnet top left (from standing by headlights), or behind the dashboard centre right. American videos are obviously left wheel drive so they access through the glove box, lucky buggers, but us brits i think have to get in behind the steering column. 2) TYPE - i see the piece for replacement is sometimes like yours, a shiny spring like a kettle heater coil .... but also on some videos it's a flat green thing. wtf? before i go digging, i'd love to know what part i need to get. my car is a 1.6LX from Sep 2003, it's an 8 valve, 4 cylinder, manual petrol right hand drive. any help you can offer for the part to get and the location to dig please? last thing i wanna do is finally get to the dud part, and the replacement i'm holding looks completely different. that already happened once with the wing mirror.
shirleyknott1969 Yes there are two types. Just ensure when you order you get the type for your vehicle, the ebay listing or mototfactors will tell you 😊👍
Hey bro my car 206 2001 Driver side ac only out hot air but the other said work fine cool What do u think is the problem Even I checked there is no leaking
Mine is Citoren ZX 98 the blower fan works when you turn the contact on it always working What do you think the problem is? there are two Power power transistors connected to the fan Do you think it is broken?
Hi I hope you read this and reply. Your video helped me locate what I was looking for but unfortunately it's not just a blown resistor, it's also the wiring on the plug it connects too. Do you no how I can get to the wires to change the whole thing? I have already brought the parts needed to do the job
Hi I've just come back from work and I found that when I've had my air conditioning on the right side vents a little bit cooler then the passenger side so I turn the air-con on to screen only and it was fine no air coming out of the vents or the footwell but when changing it to the footwell I still have got are coming out of the fence and on the screen is this the blower motor? 2001 206 GTI... Thank you
See the comment below about removing the heater motor for access - that is the correct way to do this job. 30 minutes start to finish. Glove box front off, bonnet release screw out, brake light switch removed, glove box light switch and light removed, then glove box rear section removed. Unplug heater motor connector, remove locking screw from motor (if fitted) twist motor clockwise to remove and wiggle out from under dash. Reach in, twist resistor anticlockwise and it drops down, unplug connector and bob is your avuncular relative. Reverse the above and that's it. Just this minute done one. Right hand drive.
are you refferring to left hand drive models? the way I have shown takes only 15min in practice, I can do a swap in 10min tbh... no need to be taking gloveboxes or motors out. Many ways to skin a cat though, right?
Hi, i'm italian and it's not to easy to know what did you say in videos Ahahah. My blower in my peugeot 106 gti stay at 1 of power but it sign zero. What did you think is it? Resitor?
@@PiggyPower basically my rear heating lines works fine with engine as I used on daily basis, just the heating and the fan doesn’t work what you suggests, I opened everything up but couldn’t reach the resistor to change ? Any other ways for me to reach it ?
@@PiggyPower no I haven’t got climate control, just the rear heating works ... so do I still change the resistor or check the fuse and how do I charge the fuse please ?
So you have manual controls like in the video... In that case first check the fuse isn't blown. And the fan isn't already getting power. If the fuse is ok and the fan isn't getting power on any switch position.... The resistor is next 👍🐷💪
hi What about a citroen berlingo multispace can you tell me what would i need to remove to be able to replace the heater blower fan and resistor Thanks Chris
Hi there...off top of my head I cant recall where it is. But grab a torch, get upside and start looking...it will be in the air intake section of the heating system somewhere 👍🐷
Mine is digital (not manual ) , and i have no air AT ALL , you have any ideea if the same resistor will do the trick ? i allready changed the blower and has the same problem...
Smart Tip hi there, the digital ones dont have this resistor. Either the display/control, fuse or fan. check with a multimeter if the fan is getting voltage :)
Yeah it didnt got any voltage , i found the error though , it was a heated plug that didint maked good contact, i cut it off and just wired up directly and it works perfect. I had 12 V before the plug and only 1 V after the plug. I posted a link with the picture postimg.org/image/f55fochnf/
Hi mate nice vid but i just bought mine 206 after 2 days i realized that blowet is not working i checked fuse and it was missing one so i got new one after putting one it keeps working ony high one also my control panel is electric
Hi mate, great video, I imagine it being the same for a 207 but thought I'd ask before I start, also do you know where I can buy the resistor? Thanks in advance
hi mate I have a 306 d-turbo 1997 with this problem have checked the fuses and they are all ok can hear the fan start up when kay is put in ignition but none of the dashboard controls work heater still gets warm but can't turn the temperature down or up or speed of the fan up or down aircon doesn't work can you point me in the right direction please if you can help ???
well I'm assuming it's on Speed 1 as it doesn't run very fast but I can't change the temperature ever basically none of the controls on the dash to do with the heating system work!!!!
Big dog AJ well the temperature is mechanically controlled, so best taking the control panel out and checking behind that the cables are all good. Can you not feel or hear anything change when you turn it from cold to hot?
Joe_FTW_UK hi there. the fault will be either your relay or fan. The ph3 306 with A/C has no resistor as its the controllers on the dash that control fan pulse/speed, these rarely fail
hi there...the principle is the same...ie the part that controls...but the location will be different... my suggestion is to Google the problem and include the car make/model in the search
lol not sure why that's come up three times. Strange. Yeah for the extra time it takes its nothing really for access. Such a stupid place to mount the dam thing anyway really.
