A side view would be helpful because it's not clear whether you're going forward at all with your racket. Or, are you just hitting it parallel to the base line? Thanks

When I was a player in jrs we didnt have video analysis however how I practiced my shadow swings was in front of a mirror and I received instant feedback. I'm looking into investing in some outdoor acrylic mirrors to put on my teaching court so I can train my students shape/biomechanics. I believe in combining both mirror drills and video will be highly beneficial. What do you think? Btw I give a copy of your book to all my students and it's been transformational. Amazing work your doing.

How do you "find the strings" if you are framing the ball as you mentioned?

As an old high school tennis coach I can’t emphasize this enough. You are only as good as your second serve. Serve according to the service score and set score. If you’re not winning easy points with big first serves then hit placement and high percentage first serves to take pressure off your second serve and start the point in control. You still swing as hard on the second as the first your just put more spin to make in drop in. Find what your opponent is not comfortable with and use that especially on big points. Learn to move and mix up different types of serves especially if you want to compete at more advanced levels where opponents have the skills to attack the serve and take control. The serve is the only shot that you get to place the ball first. Use it to your advantage. Don’t give that advantage up.

I've practice kick serve for years and still can't get it done! I feel like this kind of lesson is only for beginners! you can't find the string at this extreme swing path! the contact zone is too thin! (for high-speed swing)

For the kick, think of the angle of the string bed. If you wanted the ball to ‘kick’ 90 degrees upon landing, the spin would be at a right angle to the flight. If you hit the ball with that facing, it will go along the baseline and hit the fence. So, start turning the string bed (slowly/incrementally) toward the net. Hit successive balls the land OUTSIDE the court, further and further away from you (I.e. NOT hitting the side fence directly). This is the opposite of the traditional learning path, but if you give it an hour (by yourself, no judgment), you will end up with a functional kick serve.

You can swing a little into the court at an angle just more to the side no problem. I trained this a lot for like a month and getting the hang of it now YEAH. Do isolated training drills such as only the upper body swing, without the legs movement it helps a lot

Im the type of player that refuses to hit a pancake second serve. As a result, i serve 50% double faults in matches 😂. Dont get the second serve at all.
