@@schoolofselfprotection same here, but unfortunately I live too far away from Netherlands and political bullshit affects travelling around the world. Thank you for everything you do
Buddy, you are the most charismatic and constructive-thinking trainer I have ever seen. I have been practicing for ten years (mainly Krav Maga and the Combat 56 fighting system), but the way you pass on your knowledge and the scheme of the system you represent really impresses me. Greetings and respect from Poland. 👍💪
Personally when his hands went up I'd attack the groin & legs & when he goes down ( as they ALWAYS DO ) a kick in the head or stomp the back of the neck always works, you choose how much power to fit the situation. You don't always have time to go for the ankle, people move fast he may still be dangerous. ( armed etc. ) this has worked for me even in my 70's I like keeping up on new things, keep up the good work.
Hello Sensei, I started Krav maga courses 3 years ago @55. I like very much your no nonsense approach of combat, self defence teaching. Great dedicated motivator, what strikes me most is that you aim to keep it simple all the time and that is the way it must be because in case of aggression, we lose more than half our stamina…. Also too much thinking about the techniques to apply will not help either…. Keep up your excellent work ! Greets from Belgium !
The more I watch these videos the more sense it makes to carry brass knuckles. I have one with a hammer fist point. I would like to know what this great professor does for fitness. My goal is to be his size. I really appreciate this page. ❤
I have to agree with all the great comments here. You rock dude, and I appreciate every video you make! Thanks a million for this! It is changing my life, and giving me confidence.
You remind me of Geoff Thompson (UK) he was one of the first people to teach as close to actual violence as possible in the dojo to help people deal with the emotional response we all get when suddenly attacked you sir are a legend
love your videos and techniques - only question i have is (cause of law/ self defense laws): isn't there a big risk of breaking the oponents neck by hitting his brainstam full power ? (which doesn't mean i wouldn't use this attack in a potential life/death situation ...) thx for your great work and for sharing it !!!
I notice that every video I see is combat grabs, not jabs. Left is always left out. Left catches by suprise more than right. And the assumption that one can and will always clinch/attach, to me, is a mistake.
Left is always left out? What are you talking about??? Fact is..if you need to be first you want to start with the most impactful. The majority is right handed. Always start with the dominant side first when available. If I would start with a jab I lost the element of Surprise. Now I’m in a fight. I want to eliminate threat. Not having a sparring session. So the first thing you do is the most important thing. All my student learn how to hit hard on both sides. Also me going forward often gives me a clinch. There is a reason we try to grab. But again..you don’t know because you are just watching the free clips. If the clinch is not available so be it. You are looking at free videos. There is still a lot of thing you don’t know from this free videos. But that’s for the people who invest in online training or physical training.
@@schoolofselfprotection I've watched a lof of your videos on youtube and appreciate them, first of all. What I meant is that the left hand is left out from being used to attack. A good jab (and mine is one of my strengths) = the element of suprise, hits fastest, and can disable, or at least, disorientate. Bruce Lee said use the closest limb to closest target, although one may not be effective or balanced with a leg strike, depending. He also would lead with his right. Anyway, as you always point out, once you strike, you keep striking until the opponent is neutralized, so my opinion is use the left first, then right, all lightning fast. But martial arts is an art, and whatever works, and it all depends on positioning, where the other opponent is, etc. There are countless variables to deal with, but I wish I saw variables from your videos which show left, starting the barrage of attack. Thanks for responding.
@@WyattTwerpp your option is based on “what you think”. My option is based on hours and hours of stress testing and hard research.. Plus I unfortunately end up in real situations where I need this to protect myself. I understand what happens for real. You behind your keyboard “thinking” is not the same. This comes from somewhere. Under stress you want to hit as hard as you can. With the dominant side first. This is what comes out with 99% of the people when the limbic system is activated. You are probably not the average human. Because your jab is so strong. Then use that. But I look at the average human being and see what is left under stress. Keep in mind that you don’t know the material I Teach. You are looking at the free stuff. It is not all. And the non dominant side should be trained.
Funny enough, the first street fight I was ever in was when I'd already had three years of Judo, two years of BJJ, and five years of Kickboxing. And yet the first strike I dealt was with an open palm. A fantastic hit. I had no idea why I did that. I wasn't trained to do it. It was pure instinct to protect my hand. Worked perfectly well. You can go for a fist strike to the soft parts like the midsection for the solar plexus or liver. Hell even going for the crack between the chest is incredibly effective because your knuckles fit them perfectly and there's enough padding not to hurt yourself. But when targeting the face, the risk of hitting a cheekbone or God forbid a forehead is just massive. And if you hit one of those, especially the latter, you can enjoy needing help wiping your ass for the next month, LMAO!
@@TheStraightestWhitestYou just reminded me of a similar experience many years ago, only the attacker was my best friend who was just messing around. He did something that triggered an instinct in me and a palm to his face came flying out, but somehow in the time between my body moving and my palm reaching his cheek, I realized he was my friend and not a threat, and I was able to perfectly stop that attack at the exact moment when it contacted his cheek, turning a full power blow into a gentle caress lol. Never had anything like that happen before, and felt real lucky afterward. Trained body memory is wild.
Mate, I know I've told you about hitting someone in the brainstem. An injury to the brainstem can have severe, life-threatening consequences. The brainstem controls vital functions such as breathing, heart rate, blood pressure, consciousness, reflexes, and basic motor and sensory pathways. A direct trauma to the brainstem can lead to: Breathing difficulties or failure. Cardiac disturbances. Loss of consciousness or coma. Paralysis or loss of sensation. Difficulty swallowing or speaking. Visual or hearing disturbances. Stroke Death If someone were to deliberately hit or harm another person in the region of the brainstem, it could be considered a grievous assault or attempted homicide in many jurisdictions, given the potential consequences.
Stop thinking like this. It’s in the way of you protection yourself. The context of my training is: you cannot avoid and escape. De-escalation failed. And the threat you deal with is much bigger and stronger than you. Or there are multiple subjects you are dealing with. Possibly armed. So hit that brain stem. Maybe it’s still not enough.
You can worry about the consequences if you're alive. You can't do that if you're dead. For your sake, I hope these thoughts don't occur to you should you ever find yourself unfortunate enough to be in this situation. Act fast, act first. Worry later.
