71 is heavy crank ..very nice ride..76 is light crank with better pickup but higher vibrations... 80 is medium crank i presume..overall personal choice is 71

I'm Owner of g2 you can ask some doubts

It is one among the few details..another is the vcut below the delco, then a drain screw near the gear lever and then the pressure relief valve bolt which you had specified.Its common for g2 as well as early B series engines..My 71 model has all of these while my 73 doesnt have any. It reaffirms the popular concept that early b1 engines are re stamped g2 engines which were surplus stock after the redditch factory had shut down

Correct man, my bullet is a military out, registerd in 1982 I think, sine its KRF, I check the engine with an expert bullet mechanic and he told me that the engine was made in between 1968 to 1972, am very much happy to own one. The pressure valve i mentioned is an important one since Its a valve for preventing some catastrophic problems. Thank you for the great informations.

@@SonofagunG2 g2 means till 75 what about 76-89 8.9kg

@@achu3352 G2 is till 68.Then its B series.Till 73 its same 8.9kg crank but after that its medium and light cranks till 2005.They are less than 8kg

The black bike with mdm reg is 71..its not g2..I didnt make such a remark ..upto 68 is g2 and after that b1 but apart from serial numbers theres no external difference.. the TNO reg bike is also B1..

@@SonofagunG2 what i heard is G2 series engine are built in england. But B1 series engines are exactly similar to G2 but those are manufactured in India by Enfield Endia company, Chennai. G2 engines are superier than B1 engines

@@Hari-nt6fp Its mostly true..But some experts feel that even after the redditch factory shut down they still had plenty stocks which were exported to India.So the initial B1s are as good as G2.I had discussed this with Mr Scarth and even he made the same observation.My 71 has an additional pressure release valve compared to 73 so probably the 71 engine was imported and the 73 wasnt.

@@Hari-nt6fp The opinion that G2 engines are better than B1s is mostly due to the opinion that British engineering is better than Indian engineering of the day; the fact is that it's an exact replica as far as I know, and as a G2 engine owner, I don't find any difference in riding quality between the two engines, which is something that a lot of G2/B1 riders agree on...my two cents :)

@@fuelarjun I guess some B1 engines dont have oil drain outlet in front of the engine. Also i guess crank weight is less in B1 compared with G2. And the bearings which were made in British having smooth operation than Indian made. This is what i heared.

Its based on the serial number chronlogy..Like for eg 50898 is 1962 end.So anything with a U frame will have a serial number starting with G2/4..its just an ascending order and the rest you will learn out of practice

The carb with my bike is not the original one. Am getting 32 to 35 Km per litter.

Japanese carburetors were widely used to increase mileage but they had hampered the performance on even terms... vintage collectors still go back to the amal ones

But the oil leaks from underneath especially we can find oil drops when park

Did you get the packings checked.I had major leak in one of my bikes and after changing the whole packings it stopped to absolutely nothing..Also see if any of the nuts are not properly tight or damaged..

Does it cause for any major problem?
