I took it twice the first time I passed and got a 39 my dad told me that the job choice that they gave me wasn’t good so I took it again and got a worse score now I have to take it again if I fail I have to wait 6 months pray for me 😓🙏🏾
@@gellznyc4384 should’ve got in and stay in then worked your way up to a job.My stepdad the same way and when I do pass I’ll pick my job and if I don’t like it deal with the consequences.
The real ASVAB is pretty easy. Watch as many videos as you can and take a lot of practice tests and perfect areas you are not very good at. I used the Kaplan ASVAB Plus 2018-2019. Just use your time wisely and you can make it through. I finished a few minutes before each section of the test. I made a 76% in the practice test at my recruiter's office and made a 76% on the real ASVAB. Joining the Air Force. Thanks for the video.
I got an 80 on the ASVAB which qualified me for all jobs in the coast guard my tip would be to understand all your long multiplication, division, addition, and subtraction tables. Math is what primarily makes up your ASVAB score and knowing how to do that will allow you to break down all the problems even if you don't know the technical steps.
been watching your videos for a bit, I'm taking the ASVAB next month! Aiming for Aviation. Thanks for your videos and congrats on your recent marriage!
Really liked the video man! I’m going to add some of it cause I feel some people freak out over the AFQT. The AFQT determines if you are eligible for joining the Armed Forces so focus on studying VE ( Word Knowledge and Paragraph Comprehension) MK( Math Knowledge) and AR (Arithmetic Reasoning) my biggest tip for getting better with word knowledge is reading more it can newspapers or interesting articles or just books it doesn’t have to be some intense book though. Use the resources he gave you but I’d also recommended the Asvab for dummies book (it breaks it down to an 8th grade level). I went from a 29 to a 82 and I struggled with the AR the most. If I can improve my score that much, you can as well. Put the work in, believe in yourself, and never quit. As a side note focus on the AFQT that is what determines if you can even enlist or not. Then once you have figured that out, find the jobs you are most interested in and see what the sub test scores have to be. Anything from Mechanical to IT. Hope this helps as well guys, good luck let me know how some of you did!
I feel better after watching this , I made a 23 the first time taking the short practice test and the second time after studying I made a 37 just hearing from his experience encouraged me , my goal on the asvab is to make at least 50 or 60
Joining the national guard, really going to do your method. I scored a 11 and a 31 is the minimum score. If I pass, it's going to be because of you! I will be back in thank you!
Thanks man you got me motivated to keep going. Been studying about 2 hours daily. I’m gonna try out the flash cards you linked in the description. I am going into the Air Force for Cyber System Ops. Need to score a 64. So not too bad.
Cristina Alcoran I'm still in HS lol and I take the asvab sometime next month but I'm probably not going to do it cause I feel like I need to study more. I'm not rushing and I'm bad at taking test 😩 unfortunately 😳
Just took the PiCat today and got a 56. Goal MOS is a 68W in the Army. ST 99 needed 101 GT 99 needed a 107 smh. Time to really study! Thank you for your tips.
Thanks for the tips Im actually studying this whole month and a little into next month before I see a recruiter. That way I know I will I will be ready. I haven't been that good at math so I'm putting a little more time into that. But everything else I think I will be okay lol.
@@lachrissaturner7744 Don't stress about it, trust me. I got a damn 10 the first time I took it! I was extremely discouraged and felt like the biggest idiot on earth. But I kept on studying. The next time I took it I got about a 50. If I was able to pull that off after getting that low of a score so can you. Now I'm ready to enlist with various jobs to choose from. You'll be fine, believe me.
I went to my Local MEPS to take my ASVAB and I was able to get a 90. I got a 67 with the practice test online and had minimal practice. I’m considering joining the Coast Guard but I haven’t made that final decision yet. You’re very helpful with your videos Miyata!
I got a 46 on my first ASVAB online test, but I need at least a 50 to get the contract I want. I'm gonna try your methods and see if they work, thanks!
hi everyone ,if anyone else wants to uncover asvab test sample try HootArmy.xyz ? Ive heard some great things about it and my mate got good success with it.
I passed for the Air Force yesterday and had to pick from 15 jobs. Was not satisfied with my options, and not near towards my cyber education. I really hope I can score high In the General category.
Very helpful video, glad I watched. I struggle with math as well. I go to open house soon on the 14th to schedule asvab. I'm going to do what you suggested and focus real hard. I really need this! Thank you very much
Your videos have helped me prepare for my Coast Guard journey!! I currently have 30 days to prepare for the ASVAB. Could you share the links to where I can purchase the practice books online? Thanks!
I made a 29 on my practice test (March 23) and took the actually test and made a 17 (April 2nd). I just took the practice test again and made a 35, I pray next Month I make that 33 and pass. Y’all pray for me 😩
Got a 64 in high school without studying, going in for ME and I know or have been told I qualify but I bought the ASVAB Prep and im studying to take it again in a month to score higher just incase I may need it for some type of job change. Joining in about 4 months. When does your book come out in paperback? Really hoping to get it before I have to go to bootcamp so i’m extra prepared! Love the videos, been very helpful thanks!
I need to upgrade my clerical score so I can be a paralegal specialist. I got a 96% in word knowledge and about a 70% in paragraph comprehension. I got I think a 65 on arithmetic reasoning and mathematics knowledge I'll be lucky if I get one answer correct.
I'm talking to a recruiter for the Army and I have taken the Asvab 3 times my first time I got a 13. My second time I got a 20. My third time I got a 22. I'm thinking about joining Infantry and I need to study more I have the Asvab book and I've been watching Grammer hero videos on RU-vid.
I got a 23 at the recruiters office during the practice test got the book asvab for dummies starting to really study now generally not that smart not to get a reading either but All i have to get is a 31
I just got 27 but a very high line score so kinda mad I wasn’t able to reserve my job but my afqt subtest was kinda difficult like paragraph comp and arithmetic reasoning I been studying for a month and kinda feel down but I’m not giving up there, I have one month to study more and pass this test so I can become a Military police
My recruiter said that I took the test faster than anyone he has seen and I got a 15.. lmao math in general (arithmetic or Mathematics) I do bad in. I wanna join the marines but having a hard time studying due to school (4 school hrs) and a full time job. So when I'm done with school I go to work. I'm trying my best at studying but idk if it's working yet tbh. If ya got any tips for me I'd appreciate it alot!
Dad was in the Coast Guard for 21 years, I’m bilingual, and I recently scored a 26 on the ASVAB, I’m a high school student and was probably in about the same boat as you in high school.. I’m not even near the smartest kid but I’m studying about 30 mins-1 hour a day on a very helpful ASVAB app on my phone.. I could may or may not get a waiver right now since I have a very good background with the Coast Guard, but I’m gonna try to at least get a 40. Do u think they’d waiver me for a 26 if worse comes to worse?
@@iamrob3044 no foreal I swear I thought I was gonna pass cuz I did great on my practice then boom the real test got me so bad that on our way back I was all quiet didnt say a word tsk
Also keep in mind that when you retake the ASVAB and score 20+ points or higher, you would have to take a confirmation test, or abbreviated "C-test" to confirm your score that had jumped high up. That's what happened to me, and not knowing about that, I was shocked and confused after I study so damn hard just to be overwhelmed and anxious. That led me to failed and now I'm studying again to retake the ASVAB.
Just took the ASVAB for the first time scored a 35 and my general score was enough to get the job I wanted but my recruiter wants me to aim higher so I’d qualify for better jobs.. but ah man I suck at math. He is giving me a month to study up.
I know this is an older video at this point, but I was wondering if anyone has any advice for someone studying who graduated high school a few years ago? I spend a few hours a day at the gym and I work a full-time job, I study here and there but I really need to come up with a consistent schedule that works with my daily routine.
me also I had to wait 1 month to retake the ASVAB again, I took ASVAB first and i scored 24. I'm going to study 1month to sure that I'm ready to take the test again and hopefully I passed it.
I’m not the ASVAB Test again. You know why? Because I’m doing my Army experience through Army ROTC. I’m done trying to enlist in the Army. I’ve done took the ASVAB Test 5 times, and still have not passed it. I’m going to be an officer/2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army through direct commission.
Stop being scammed because you failed and don't know what to do.We come here to aid you all with ASVAB practice booklet which contains passed questions for more than 6 years now available and very Afordable for all those willing to succeed on their exams. This book is very rich with knowledge.
I was awful at Maths but what i have come to understand is if you can figure out what the application is gor each type of maths ie trig or geometry it helps understand it. Also practice
Sigh i got a 20, did my exam Tuesday, gonna retake it next month, I got the Kaplan and the study cards. How did you figure out how to do the math and arithmetic section? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated..thanks in advance!
Why'd you drop out of rescue swimmer school? That's exactly what I'm wanting to do. And can you go straight into rescue swimmer training out of boot camp?
You see I took the ASVAB back in high school got a 10 :(. Here I am back again given a practice test got a 9 :(. I want to enlist in the army to be a Multi Media Illustrator 25M my main goal is to get a 95. But the thing is Math always messes everything up
Hi Julian, thank you for putting this out. Just a quick question. How did the percentage bands (standard scores) in each area impact you. Was qualifying for alll the jobs based on the 87 or the bands?
I'm doing mine next week because I got signed up in a weeks notice and I'm taking it ny senior year of highschool so I can aim higher and is there anyway you can tell me what is on the math part? Thanks
Military Journeymen lucky 6th try I been studying the arithmetic reasoning general science and the word knowledge so I know I’ll score higher then a 15 My theory is if I focus on what I am good for such as: Gen science I gotta score awesome +15 Word knowledge do decent maybe +6 Reading do decent maybe +8 Arithmetic reasoning do decent +4 Math +3 I think I will pass with a 35 this time
Jadita TV i used march2success (website) Asvab for dummies volume 2 (Book) Military.com (website) Quizlet asvab vocabulary (website) Ps don’t focus on your weakest point study on the strong points Like general science reading learn better vocabulary unless your smart then do math
@@HeroKeepOnMarchingOn you need a 31 also at the recruiter office for them to take you to meps, if you score low they will give you time to study then come back to the recruiter office and you have to take another pre test that is about 3 hours long if you pass that then you head out to meps to take the real asvab. I got fucked over by the army because I scored a 20 on the pretest and they sayed I would pass come to find out I scored a 21 , while I was there I came to realize I dint want to be in the army anymore due to the fact the Marines are respect more. It's like 1st place and second place being marines is 1st place army is 2nt place trophy. And you know what they say about 2nth place right lad? "Second place is first looser" I dint feel respected by the marines so I changed my mind and sayed fuck the army am going to be a marine instead . So now am working with a marine recruter
@@franciscocastillo19 when you retake the asvab, whatever your score is will be your most recent. say for example, I scored a 57, knowing that I passed but want a specific job or aim for a higher score but end up with a 45. that would be my new score instead of the 57. So be content with what you got, or do better if you're going to retake it.
what’s a good job to get in the military if you wanna make bank?! PLEASE REPLY! & don’t say “what are you into?” IM INTO MAKING MONEY & BEING FINANCIALLY COMFORTABLE! NOTHING ELSE!
Bro get yourself a tutor and a good asvab book. be determined and know youre not the only one struggling with raising there score and make sure you can motivate yourself or have someone help you out as long as you keep working and striving torward that goal pretty soon youre score will rise with you too👍
I went into the recruiting office for the first time for the Army. I failed the first test at the office. a month later i came back , passed the test in the office. I took the asvab at Meps , failed. Where am i going to re take the test? Am i going to the Army Recruiting office to take the test? If i pass it i don't have to take another test at MEPS? right just a Medical , physical test? Or ? He just told me i have to wait 30 Days.
Lyra Jane Gabriel I got a 14 the first time the second time I got a 21 and the third time I got a 25...😭😭😭😭🙃🙃🙃🙃 I’m trying to enlist in the Navy as a corpsmen. I need help on the arithmetic reasoning and paragraph comprehension
Yenniz pacheco on my second test in school I got 11😞 I think Navy is not for me. But my recruiter said, if I failed my second test, I have to wait for 6 months.
Lyra Jane Gabriel yeah he/she is right. I’ve only done the practice ASVAB’s I’m too scared to go to MEPS and take the real one bc I know I’m not ready. I’m a junior this year but I want to enlist before I graduate high school. Like I REALLLLYYYY want to enlist in the navy! 😭😭🙏🏼 what branch do you want to go??
Yenniz pacheco Navy, but I'm not joining in the military anymore. I'm only 5ft and my weight keeps going down and up. The weight required for me was 90 pounds. I'm now senior. I will be graduate this year. I think I'm going to community college.
I got a 69 when I did it with my recruiter and 2 days ago I took the asvab and got a whole fucking 24. I'm retaking it in 29 days. Help. I got the lowest in comprehension with a 38. I haven't studied maths since I finished school last may. My maths was 49, arithmetic 46 and word knowledge 48. HELP
2 Years ago I went to the Recruiter Office to take the Asvab PreTest & scored a 4. What's on the Asvab PreTest at the Recruiter office? I forgot but if you remember Sir please tell.
Tyrekee TV For me I had no prior knowledge but I guess I got lucky? Actually the reason I did so well is because I’m in high school right now and the subjects for math are taught. You really can’t be prepared for it so it’s best to know a little bit about everything. You can look up the subjects online and try to grasp a little bit of concepts on the ASVAB.
I’m trying to join Marines Nd need a Gt score of 105 or higher I only got a 91 but I need to get that up for the MOS I want, the MOS I want is Recon, I have a good enough score for infantry which is a 90 or above but idk if I want that. Anyone got helpful tips to raise my GT score 14 points
I see there are different Kaplan study guides per year does that mean a 2018 one wouldn’t be as useful as a 2020-2021 one would be? Or is it all the same material?
