Mentioning how high/low to hang the bag and the tip with the spring deserved a thumbs up. I did not think of the spring idea, will definitely be using it. Thanks!
Thank you for this demo, bro! This helps me to visualize/demo my own installation before I start putting holes in my ceiling. Great idea with the LAG BOLT and coarse threads.
Highly suggest putting in some braces up top between your ceiling joices to prevent too much movement on the single joice you have the bag bolted into. Also will help distribute the load so that single joice doesnt start to sagg over time. just a tip from a contractor :)
As an experienced tradesmen I suggest reinforce your 2x4 or at least go his route and use the SPRING!!! I’ve seen people break their 2x4’s and tear parts of their drywall off due to improper installation
Great video. Just bought a heavy bag and about to mount. Now realize that there is additional hardware needed (or at least recommended). Helpful. Outstanding. Thanks.
This is the best installation video I've seen yet. I just bought a heavy bag and was wondering if drilling directly in the the ceiling would hold up. Thanks for the demonstration video 👍🏾💯
Nice heavy bag review. Nazo and Prolast bags are worth the extra money plus mine came with a lifetime guarantee. Keep up the good work and thanks for the awesome review.
Excellent explanation!!! Thank you for including the links about where to buy the stuff and the advice about hanging the bag hight. What an smart kid.I would have messed those 2 seconds to put the rings on the bag. Thank you very much
Thanks for the video. Spring great idea. I was looking for videos because I only had a chain with my bag because we bought it used. Then I looked around and found the bracket that you have without the video I wouldn't have known about it. I would use lag screws. Those gold construction screws will bend and break over time. You might want to replace them so it doesn't fall on somebody.
Michael Forbes personally I’d recommend you get a free standing bag if you’re in an apartment. If that’s not your style then you can get a bag with a stand but make sure you weigh the stand down so it doesn’t sway and come off the ground with the momentum of the bag (or you could fix it to the stand by tying it to the legs so it doesn’t sway). Now if that’s not an option then get a cobra bag or a double end bag.
Try the Per4m quick punch on amazon for a double end bag, I used one in our condo as the upstairs unit and never got a complaint. Pretty cheap too. Csquared actually does a review on it as well.
@@loslosthuy I think that is ultimately the best choice, between possible drywall damage from hanging a double bag and the noise of a heavy bag in an apartment building, that makes the most fiscal and practical sense.
This is similar to how I installed mine, by lining it up with the roof access. I had to completely remove the chain though because I have low ceilings and am quite tall.
Great content! I think that looks the perfect height, if you look at it the bottom black strap is lined with your waist, so I don’t think you will need to punch lower.
@@csquaredboxing I ordered a 3m chain (the branch is pretty high) with tie down straps and a spring will it need more weight adding to reduce the sway?
Bro question! I just hanged my 100lbs heavy bag via ceiling hanging in my garage I felt quite uncertain about it, since my ceiling would bounce a bit ,when I give the bag a good punch 👊 Should I take it down? I do put a spring between the hanger and the bag
Hey thanks for the help, one question is that I bought a hanger from Amazon and I don’t know what drill size to use for the octagon head-shaped screws that came with the hanger set, into the wood, in my house.
Thank you for making this video. I followed the steps and when I finished setting it up I noticed that when I was hitting the bag the beam bounces. I only mounted a 75 lb bag good thing. Does your beam have a bounce?
Ceiling joists are typically sized to hold the weight of drywall over a certain span. The heavy bag, porch swing or junk stored on top of them usually is not considered. Size and span is key. And, use lag screws or timber locs, not those 3" construction screws. They are not rated for holding up a load. Neither are the flat washers.
Good video. Are you able to open your garage door, while the heavy bag is in place? It appears that your garage door rails run way past where you mounted it.
Great video. I'm about to order this bag and appreciate the install instructions. Any reason why you didn't use the lag bolts that come with the hanger? Are the lag screws you use that much stronger? Thanks.
Hello, great vid! How has that chain held up? It says on Home Depot’s product description not to use it for overhead hanging or sports equipment but it’s rated for well over 1k lbs so I believe it would be fine. Just wanted to know your experience with it, thanks for your time!
Pal, with all respect, I think it is an awesome idea, but, will the roof resist the heavy bag weight? Because I want to do the same in my house. Keep going the good work!
