How to install a Scag Striper kit on a Tiger Cat zero turn rider

Tiger Stripe Kit, ( lawn striping roller ) Professional grade lawn striping and pattern attachment for Scag products. To install the kit, Scag parts # 921V (roller) and 921X (bracket kit) are needed. Installation is less than a 1/2 hour and was easy to do. Make sure to keep the parts kit loose to help you align it on the striper. After everything looks aligned then tighten up the bolts. The last part of the video I show the striper in the transport mode. Don't jump over curbs with it installed! The machine I own is a 2012 Model year Scag Tigercat with a 52" deck and collection system.

How well does this kit work on a average yard I’m thinking about getting one. My tiger cat does not stripe at all.

The stripper maybe 30 lbs. It's spring loaded and it floats on the grass ( with spring pressure)

My is made one solid roller and not like the one e in the video .. Scag Tiger II. I wonder what the difference between the 2 .

They found a way to save a few bucks in manufacturing I would guess. They do work nice and in the spring the lawns look great.

Does the roller ever tear up the yard while turning, going uphill or reversing?

No the striper works very well and doesn't tear up the turf.

You can stripe lawns without these with any zero turn mower. We have 10+ commercial mowers all the way up to 72 inches and none of them have a striper on them. But I stripe yards all day long. Have many pictures if you're interested

Good video thanks for sharing. Is the stripper easy to take off and on when your not using it? Does it simply lift up and down while staying attached to the mower?

Joel Smith To remove it you remove the pin on each side, then it slides off the frame. To raise the stripper while in use, you lift it up off the ground then push in that spring loaded keepers. This is on both sides. It's easy to do, but it's a pain to drop to your knees to reach underneath. So I don't remove it that often, only when I'm going to put the collection system on.

For a large yard, the stripper kit makes the yard look nice. It's best to cut the yard like 3" or so, so the effect really stands out. Make your stripes east to west like the sun for best effect.
