I think you said Radler, because when defeated beer is what you needed. I think those do look good. Maybe a little less backspacing in the rear, but it all looks great. Glad you got that OD figured out too for Dale.
My truck for aftermarket rims and tires .....I go-to a tire shop that has the latest machines it's worth the extra money if they screw up anything it's on them to fix
Good video ...i just got my 7004 bk from transmission shop im put it on my 60 chevy the shop has my 7004 with 1 wire will this switch u ised work for me if i wirecit like you did n add the vacuum line from card ... that switch is where i would hook up my 1 wire from the transmission????
Bought this switch to replace the broken GM Vac switch, but think mine is faulty. It's permanently normally closed. I thought how it worked was open circuit until it gets enough vacuum, then it switches to normally closed, circuit complete ,then lock up happens. Is this correct?
@OldeCarrGuy I was testing the switch out of the truck , using a pump to set pressure, I realised my mistake, that's positive pressure, not negative pressure 🤦♂️
I did a efi to carb swap on my 87 camaro with a 700r4.im told this looses t converter lock up control. So will this kit all I required to regain lock up control.?? or is the switch kit needed which is sold for 200 plus.
hey got a question for you i have 1990 k5 blazer 700r4 trans..i just rebuild my engine and did lot of up grades i converted it over from tbi to carb so i no with out my computer i wont have no converter lock up ..so what u suggest would be the right converter lockup kit to buy i dont want to drive my truck with out it ..i no my trans may it hot with out it..let me know thanks..appreciate it..
Absolutely. The 700R4 lockup is vacuum controlled. If you had a O/D button inside the Blazer it was only disrupting the power to this type of lockup switch and not running through a computer.
hey that plug thats on the driver side of my trans..has 3 wires comng out of it can i just take two of the wires and tie them both togather and the other wire to a 12 v source and put a switch on it...and i seen a edelbrock tps kit that mounts on the side of my carb and i can plug it in to my tps connector..
ONE Of these wires must go to the trans?? Which one? there are theww connections on that switch...i just bought one, one has to intersect at the trans cicuit to open and close the voltage...Yes? Thanks!
You are correct. I guess I assumed, when making the video that folks would know that there was a wire coming from the transmission. On the 700R4, there is a 4 pin connector, and i believe it was the green wire that activated the lock-up. Hope this helps and/or clarifies.
@@OldeCarrGuy Great! I think mine must be blue, I have a th350c so it's probably a little different but this does clarify...Thanks for the timely response, most appreciate!! I guess I can pull the brake cut off switch now as well...
@@OldeCarrGuy im a little confused on how to do this I'm swapping my 4l60e out for a 700r4 and im trying to see how to wire this vacuum switch up im seeing where people are wiring it up to there brake petal switch but it seems like I could wire it up to any wire that's hot while key is on.
No brake switch required. Because it is vacuum operated (adjustable), as soon as you take your foot off the gas, the vacuum closes the switch. as soon as you step on the gas and lose vacuum again, the converter will lockup. I hope I explained that ok.
@@OldeCarrGuy Have you found any disadvantages to using the time delay? For example, perhaps it engages after 10 seconds but by then, you're at low cruising speed. Will engaging hurt anything or effect performance? Just one example but have you experienced any downside?
@@OldeCarrGuy Thanks, where i tapped in kept blowing the Gauges fuse on my 92 camaro, and when i tryed to use the accesory power on the fuse block, if blew it too lol
mine is hooked up to my 20a fused brake switch then to the ignition switch. the other lead on the vacuum switch then goes to the trans (i only have 1 wire)
You don't need ALL that bullshit. Lockup was designed for 4th gear economy only. No toggle switch needed to turn off lockup. Simply shift into 3rd gear n leave it there for in town low speed driving. It will never lockup or "lug". When you get on the "highway", simply shift in OD!!! Elementry, my dear Watson..
