Hi Mate, Richard from the UK. Just want to say a BIG thank you for info on the clutch adjustment. My daughter has an 883 Sportster and told me that she is having trouble selecting her gears. I think you have just solved IT xx Brilliant video
Really enjoyable and I have a Harley Sportster 1200 in my garage right now. I don't know why you felt like it had to crank loud generic rock and roll stuff over the sound of the harley. I want to hear the Harley and the turbo spool up and all that stuff so if you have a video like that let me know. Otherwise how expensive is it ? I want to deal man.... 🤓👍🤓👍
The colder plug does not actually change the temperature of the air or combustion in the cylinder. It's only function is to transfer heat along the plug faster to stop the tip from melting due to the higher internal temperatures.
A excellent video. I loved how you showed everything that needed to be done. Also you are very good at what you do. You can tell that from how you ran your wires and hoses. Most people don't think about that sort of stuff. I could not tell you how many of my friends have done engine work on their cars and leave a rat's nest of wires. Everyone always says the same thing I will get to that later. A year or two later and your friend has the hood up on their car and the same mess of wires are in the same spot they were in the day they completed their project.
I'm very new to 2 wheels but have experience with 4 also just learning about boost as well. Question: I have a hot rod built 93ci custom motor that i acquired as a result from a death in the family. The motor is a carburated shovelhead, does it need to be fuel injected to add a turbo? Is there an aftermarket EFI like you would find on an old school SBC from holley or fuel tech etc? Just the gear hangin outside of the frame and the noise alone makes me want to dive right in! Nice job Moots, u made the install and video fun to watch as a matter of fact my next dog 🐕 I buy im gonna name Moots!
Nick! Moot!!! Great job, very well done!!! Just went out and got a Sporty to go with my Turbo 2003 Ultra Classic. Might be making another visit to the shop!!!!
This looks incredible!! I’d love to do this eventually. I burnt out my clutch through ‘spirited’ riding with just a stage one map, air filter and exhaust. I imaging that would shred a stock clutch? I’ve just fitted an Energy One, but a turbo is a bit beyond my skill at the moment 😋. Great video guys
Great Video, never seen a better one. It was said before but dang gotta say it again "you can work on my bike anytime". Can one fit a 2018 Low Rider Low ? A true craftsman
I can't believe you didn't take out the factory clutch exploder disc and replace it with Screaming Eagle clutch plates, that kit also comes with a heavy duty clutch Spring would that suffice for this type of Turbo installation? This Turbo kit would fit my 2014 super low perfectly because it has the same identical 1200 engine in it. It's giving me something to think about.
He'll yeah.my riding buddy has frx w 113 turbo s&s..i have ridden it..it hauls ass that will scare the shit out of you..and very quiet too..getta sum of that..
What is the overall price... if I shipped you the bike to purchase the kit and install it ready to ride..? And how much weight does it add to the bike..?
I was informed by a harley mechanic that in order to have one of these installed on a big twin, the motor has to be beefed up to handle the extra power from the turbo...as well as the trans?....any truth to this?....
like in cars, first things to fail after applying a turbo may be rods, pistons, clutch then the trans, my guess would be that for sure you need to upgrade the clutch, and rods idk how much torque the trans can handle
It all depends on your riding style, there are guys that ride bikes with 200hp and never break a belt and there are guys with stock engines that pop them right away. If someone is putting one of our Stage 1 turbo kits on their bike they should be fine with a stock bottom end. If they are going to build the motor and want a Stage 2 turbo kit we absolutely recommend that they upgrade the drive train.
What If guy put on the 1275 hammer kit to a 883 and some screaming eagle cams and this was also added. The hammer kit makes it close to 100hp alone. What was cost of the kit? Of any one knows.
The Sportster turbo kit is $5,590, we haven't done the hammer kit yet but would really like to see the results of combining their kit with one of our turbo kits!
Yes, we will be doing free turbo installation at Sturgis, make sure you call us ASAP to reserve your appointment because we already have several days booked up.
What's a normal oil change on a HD? I go 5k miles on my R1 and VTX1800...have been. they don't use any oil. shit the R1 manual says 6200 mile intervals.
I do 3 hole oil change every 5,000 miles with Amsoil full synthetic. Even though I believe thats a bit overkill for the tranny🤔Been told that should be good for up to 20,000 miles. I have a 14 Firefighter Street Glide 103 and a 2005 Softail Deuce😎🇺🇸🇬🇧
Is it not dangerous to put a turbo on a bike .. I’m not being critical.. it’s a genuine question.. I thought that a supercharger would be much safer ? How do you deal with the off/on nature of the boost .. ? It’s not such a problem with a car .. because of the weight and wheels .. but we all know that as riders.. putting the instant torque of a turbo through one wheel is potentially very scary..??
@@greengoat5654 10 min oil change damn your fast. I got a vn800 there’s two filters and two drain plugs. Well one drain plug and a oil filter but there’s a second drain plug and it has an oil screen in it takes me like 45 mins
Pretty respectable horsepower numbers. 116hp turbocharged. 1200 Indian is 123hp bone stock though. This is not a hit on Trask. It's a hit on Harley. Step up your game Harley Davidson. Although the KTM 1190 v-twin Super Duke makes 177hp bone stock. So step up your game too Indian.
Why all the "no helmet" haters disliking, in ky there is a no helmet law along with other states im sure, so yeah, its a matter of what state you live in, it should be your life, your choice.
