Great video. Excellent step-by-step installation and tool guide. After installation, (anecdotal) the engine seemed to have smoother acceleration and a definite deeper-throated rumble between 3K-4K rpm. No codes thrown. No reset or reprogramming of any components needed. Easy Plug-N-Play. Thank you for the help on my 2020 TSS Tundra 5.7L V-8.

By far the best install video of the TRD intake. I have a 2018 Tundra 5.7 and have considered this. Your video will come in handy. Thanks! I am curious is it harder to change the air filter after the TRD intake install? I wouldn’t want to accidentally puncture it when putting it back together every time.
@MilitarizedCitizen
@MilitarizedCitizen 3 года назад
Thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate it. The air filter isn't much harder to change. It's pretty much the same as a regular air filter replacement. On this kit, however, the air filter is rechargeable (reusable). Let me know how your install goes once you get it done!

Another great content. Since this video...how is the TRD Air filter holding up? Are you still using trd oil filter ? Now that you have it for awhile is it worth the money? thanks
@MilitarizedCitizen
@MilitarizedCitizen 3 года назад
Thanks again! Air filter is holding up great. I've cleaned it once and it's still in near perfect condition. I use the OEM oil filter because I have a plan that includes oil changes at my dealer. Once that ends, I'll probably start using the TRD oil filter and make a video for oil filter and oil changes. I like the TRD Cold Air Intake because it gives the engine a bit of a growl it didn't have before. At some point, I'll install the TRD dual exhaust which will add a little more growl.

@MilitarizedCitizen

Two things: 1) Less restrictive air flow 2) Reusable air filter (like K&N) They also say about 3-5 more horsepower, but that's hard to prove.

Dropping in an aFe 31-10146 Air Filter would be more economical if you don't need the cool factor. The stock housing is already huge.
