Good video. I found that when unscrewing it from between the air vents (armrest removal), it it a little easier to have it in the open positon and leave the center screw for last. Then you can just hold the armrest with one hand and quickly unscrew the last one avoiding issues with the spring being loaded.
Great step by step video. Definitely would reference this if I ever do this upgrade. Not sure I would since I need to plug in phone for android auto which also charges. I used your video on the trd cold air intake install when I did mine a couple weeks ago.
Thanks for the feedback! I've been debating in my mind fender flares for awhile. Seems once you put them on, there's no going back, but I do love the way they look. I've got a light bar installation in the works and am considering a sound system upgrade or two. We'll see...
Awesome. Thanks for the feedback and for watching. I appreciate it! Glad the video helped. I use the charging tray a lot, especially with passengers in the truck.
Good stuff. Have used your vids to add mods to my 21 Tundra TRD Pro Lunar Rock. Now that JBL has Apple CarPlay I added the wireless module from CARPLAY2air and ran a long usb extension into my glove box. Now with the wireless charging tray it’s a pretty sweet little mod. Just wish I knew how to move that entire USB port into my glove box so wouldn’t have any plugs/cables cluttering. Need some kind of extender cable for that. Not sure what that plug type is for the internal car play adapter. Anywho, I was able to tuck the usb cord under so it’s not too bad but just not yet perfect. Thanks again for the ideas!
I appreciate the support and feedback. Sounds like you've got a sick ride. To extend the USB cable into the glove compartment, try one of these: amzn.to/2Kp8XE4 or amzn.to/2WgEWsJ. The round one might be easier to cut out and it also comes with mounting hardware.
Thank you, Paul! In this case, since the connection is pretty straight forward and there are no open or spliced cable ends, I did not disconnect the battery. However, it's always a great recommendation to do so.
It's a great suggestion. I think the next mod is going to be a light bar. We'll, after the AJT order I just placed a few days ago. Keep the ideas coming, bro!
Hey Buddy , how did you install both the wireless charging tray & the USB charging ports in the lighter wiring ? wish someone could make a adapter to accommodate both instead of splicing the wires.
Does anyone else have the issue that if you turn off the wireless charger, then, restart the truck it comes on again automatically? That drives me nuts! I don't want it on unless I turn it on. It has a power button. If I turn off the stereo or the dome lights I don't want those turning back on automatically if I restart the truck.
Hey Shawn! Unfortunately, that isn’t an issue, it’s the way the wireless charging tray is programmed to work. As far as I know, there is no way around this.
There a fuse in the wiring of the unit itself. You also need to check the fuse box inside the truck. If you cannot find it there, it might be a fuse in the engine compartment fuse box.
