Nice job mate. You know 'coupling' is pronounced "cupp-ling"? Just sounded a bit strange to me lol. Looking at getting an off road camper trailer, and just learned about Treg Poly block couplings.
Absolutely mate.....always do that on the boat. Chains are a bit too short on this trailer and pull too tight when you turn on full lock. Good point though, i will get some extra links just in case the hitch fails :)
You've put grease on a friction surface. The bolts only hold pressure and the friction is what gives it strength the same as a wheel what you've done is put all the load on the bolts.
Oops, that is a very good point. By trying to counter one problem (corrosion), I have created another one by overloading the bolts. Thanks for the great advice.
Silly way of hitching it. Just reverse alongside the block, use the jockey wheel up and down to get the height right, and push the A frame across with your knee. Drop the pin in .. MUCH EASIER.
