How To Install A Weber Carburetor 

My mechanic said I had issues with my stock carburetor and did not want to work on it. Upon watching many videos, and reading many more forum I decide to get one. With the aid of your video alone you helped a complete moron put a nice new Weber carburetor on his B2200. This is that moron and yes she just purrs, truly amazing difference. Thanks to the maker of this video, I owe you a huge debt of thanks. I can honestly say with out your aid I would never attempted this.

This video helped me out so much when I swapped out that POS stock carb for a webber. It's amazing how much emission stuff was on the old carb. Engine bay is not cluttered any more. Bye bye vacuum hoses!

I appreciate the info. I picked this truck up for my son so, God forbid, he could learn to work on a vehicle, We have already replaced the timing belt, water pump, thermostat, etc. but I was having problems dialing in the carb. We were still getting some black smoke out the tail and it was fouling the plugs. The compression seems good so we are assuming the rings are good. The weber carb seemed like the best solution. We appreciate your info. Thank you.

the plastic 90 degree elbo is for the crank case breather, and it operates the same way it did with the factory airbox, i had a webber on a 2.5L jeep engine before swapping in a 4.3L Chevrolet, these carbs are awesome, nice install and general how-to vid my friend

the hose port on the filter tray is for the valve cover vent usually goes to your stock filter box.

Very welcome. Weber is best in any case. So much more simple than the stock carb

my weber just arrived, I'l be replacing the stock Aisin Carb on my AE82 Toyota Corolla (4AC swapped) Will look forward to getting it on there.

With these Webers guys they really need to be jetted proper to a T. The famous carboratour with the flat spot. These were popular on Fiats in the 70's much of a economy carboratour. Replaced many german Zenith as a kit from redline with a bad jet setup. Get the jet kit to experiment and watch a lot of these videos here we didn't have in the 80's. Also prefer manual choke as the DGV. Keep it simple. Cheers Nick,

Plastic elbow is for the pcv hose that comes from valve cover.

The LCE video shows the flat head screws getting Loctite. As a toolmaker of over 20 years, I learned quickly not to put Loctite on flat head screws...*if* you want to remove them without heat. Red Loctite can strip threads in aluminum, yet don't be concerned about cracking the aluminum by over tightening them. The hex wrench will twist and break long before that point, and no doubt the plates are 6061 T6 aluminum alloy or tougher. At 19:17: Do you suppose people may want to know that the white plastic elbow (that you didn't know what it was and discarded) is probably for the valve cover breather hose? Saw a guy ask that very question in another video. That was hilarious btw, "I don't know what that does"..."I never use these"...(whatever it is)

Just picked up an 89 b2200 for $300. Not in the best shape but I'm looking forward to wrenching on it this spring and summer. I'm def gunna get this carb setup on mine.

I keep seeing these Weber carb installations videos but no one covers the electric choke wire, where to connect it from. In some videos I see a red wire connect to the electric choke, is that a 12volt straight from the battery? I also see black wires on other video, so would a ground wall wire work as well?

I think that high top brass nipple is a vent tube and if I remember correctly should connect to a charcoal canister if you have one.

thank you very much i have a 85 Isuzu Pick up (as my profile pic) and i was wondering where that one hose goes from the Valve cover. now i know i need to get a vacuum hose for that. I would like to thank you for this very interesting and educational video which i have a Webber Carb in my truck. I bought the truck with the after market webber already installed. thank you again for your video. i know now how to fix or even install a webber carb in to my truck. I just wish that they had side draft duel intake for my motor with adapters.

I used sheet metal cut with tin snips gasket sealant and bolted it over my EGR. 25,000 miles later. Still good 👍

The returns are there on both trucks. The return on the manual fuel pump is on the fuel pump its self. On my other truck I had to add one in the line with a restricted T

That hole you plug in the air filter is for a hose to the rocker cover(valve cover) breather. Plug the one on the intake manifold and run the hose from the filter to the valve breather, or plug both and buy a valve breather filter.

The three lines that go across the right side to the front must be removed off the stock header. There is a (rigged) fix. Is to actually cut the off and pinch the ends off. I did that before I got my pacesetter header

running it on my datsun 521, l16 engine need the air from the air canister above the fuel tank and that is what that white pvc elbow in the air filter is for, to connect your hose to it from that canister at least in the l16 engine

Hey awesome video!! i have 3 lines coming from under the passenger side 1 is now just there. I believe it's anti- lock lines of some sort should i just plug it?

vacuum lines.. is NOT the issue.. the normal issue u guys have is mixture.. in a normal setup *ie* 1 44 mm 44 flat (spæld) karb. u got 4 jets.. get this right........ 1 jet is "cold" 2is the normal "idle" plus gas plus mix.. (for a normal start "not possible" 1/4 on the "gas" paddle.. "burp" )(put a bit of gasoline in the intake of the weber) and stay on the starter. when it starts.. stay on it. make sure its warm. wait 8-10 min. then u have 2 realign the jets. simple fix = all pipes have to have the exact amount of -pressure = suction (sry im danish) all 4 "jets" in each barrel have got to be the same.. or you will lean out your engine. :) tweak a bit. i found that working with it. tweaking and twerking with it that u might find the setup that works for you..

That other line on the carb goes to your vapor canister if you choose to use it,

That white 90 for the filter should be connected to the crankcase breather.

the three hoses in the front of the air filter housing.. the two on the far right are for exhaust, the other pipe is for what?? Can these pipes be cut off with out any negative consequences?

The little gold plate you show that holds the tension on the throttle spring, it doesn't come with the kit? I'm looking to buy that kit for mine here soon and I'd like to know what else I need to order or dig around for. Thanks

im not familiar with this carb so i could be wrong but could this be the vent for the carb? 13:36 because if it is then it is what should go to the plastic elbow 19:27

i bought one ..through it on..can get it to run right..Tuck dies soon it warms up.... starts up fine cold..but soon it gets to Warm it dies and runs super rough ..won't stay idle...I have to rev..seems like a rich misfire plugs are carbon fouled..any thing happen like this you before?

The carb. ive been told works from a computer. it works good after get in second gear and up.Starting out it does not seem like getting enough gas. been told there is adapter kit to make the carb work without the computer. can you tell me how to get that kit? it has a new carb. on it.

I have a 88 2600. I put a weber on it years ago and it worked great. recently rebuilt the motor and for some reason it hesitates when I floor it. I didn't do anything different so I'm not sure why it does it

how tall is the actually carb from the base of it to the base where the air filter plate sits on. I want to buy one but I need a 1 barrel adapter to a 2 barrel and I don't know if it will be able to clear the hood with the air filter, the carb, and the adapter plate cus ?

Hello. I got a 94 honda civic in El Salvador, I installed a webber 32/36 but now am having issues with my ac, any idea how to get the webber to work with the ac, but rpm is already at 1000, but once the ac kicks in it just goes way to low and turns off.

I have a 91 I want to put a weber in and I cant figure out how to remove the extra exhaust lines.... Can you help me out?

aint it backwards the throttle cable on the ford laser as the cable comes from behind the intake manifold the engine you are showing is a rwd mine eg is fwd

Ive got a samurai, and even though your video is not for my vehicle it helped greatly as there are no videos for samurais. I got everything together but the wire fore electric choke, I know its not the same as yours but what am I trying to accomplish with that wire 12volt source? Did you go to the alternator so it was power when key is on?

So you could connect a 12v source to a rheostat and run this to the electric choke and operate it the same as a manual choke.

very nice tutorial i was wondering if you know anything on a 91 isuzu 2.3l pickup. Ive seen the weber carb swap on a 90 on youtube and its set up exactly like mine. i was just wondering how you bypass all the emissions i wouldnt even bother but my mom passed in june and she wanted to ride in it and i think it would be right to make it something she wouldve had fun i appreciate it if you could get back to me god bless.

Can you drill extra vacuum ports into a Weber Progressive? The reason I'm asking is that I have a 32/36 DFEV and I have a VW Beetle with AutoStick (and I need extra vacuum ports for the AutoStick control valve).

They do make needle nose plyers.
