I had this exact issue, the RTV is so worn down my throttle has been sticking open. I’m replacing the carburetor this week, and I’m curious If you could explain a little more…. And do I need to buy an EGR gasket or does that come with the carburetor kit? Thanks!

The kit should already come with the caps for the vacuum lines that won't be used anymore. The only thing that I can think of that your son will need is some scrap metal, a cut off wheel/grinder, and some RTV to make a block off plate for the EGR valve. Other than that the kit should come with everything you need. The reason we ended up getting fuel line and vacuum line was to replace the old brittle lines. It wasn't necessary, but figured we'd replace those for preventative maintenance. After your son completes the carb swap, he may want to look into replacing the stock exhaust manifold with a pacesetter header to finish deleting all the factory emissions that were connected to the factory carburetor. It'll help squeeze out a little more horsepower, clean up the engine bay, and make it sound a lot better. Good luck!!

If you son has the same vehicle and removes the EGR valve , he needs a new gasket to sandwich between the newly fabricated plate to block off the EGR valve ! NOTE " RTV will burn away once the manifold gets hot from the exhaust heat, so its best to use the metal gasket along with the newly fabricated plate . Also the plate needs to be at least an 1/8 inch thick to prevent warpage from the heat ! JMO .

Wat is a ventilation cup, i am currently doing the Weber Carb and i am trying to learn everything I need to do

@@snakeNP215 the ventilation cup or CUBA, is a little reservatory of gasoline inside in the carburator. That cup needs ventilation because the higher temperatures evaporate the gasoline and the ventilation erase that problem. Best regards

There is a small plug on the back of the alt. that runs to the choke . Sometimes the part in the alt goes bad and you don't have 12 volts when the eng is running .

I can guarentee you after deleting all the components EGR ect" it will not pass emissions !

We don’t worry about emissions where Inlive state ha no inspection for automobiles.

The one in the video is a 1986, so I'm not sure what other years came in this brown color. And that'll be awesome, these trucks are slow but fun!

Man thanks, my 89 is broke down right now and I think its the fuel pump. I bought a new one but I want to put it in correctly

The new video is up now. It was pretty easy to install. Just unbolt the old one, and disconnect the fuel lines. Then replace it with the new one. It pretty much just slides right in. 👌

We went with the 32/36 because we wanted to clean up the factory emissions mess from the stock carburetor and improve slightly on the hp/mpg. From my understanding the 32/36 will give you a little better performance while maintaining/increasing mpg. The 38 will give you more performance, but less mpg.

If you delete all the components like these guys did , the vehicle will not pass emissions !

Only light we got on the dash was the egr light since we deleted that part with the new weber carburetor. Other than that, no check engine lights.

You need a check valve to install on the line coming from the tank . Get a check valve the you can blow through , but air cannot inter back into the tank . Also vent that line / hose through the fender well , so the gasoline fumes exit the engine bay .

@@AbnormalGarage its a crankcase vent. You can buy a filter that clamps on and take off the white piece on the air filter housing and put a piece of tape over the hole.

The truck runs a lot smoother with the new carburetor. It's also a huge improvement being able to delete a lot of the emissions from the factory carb. Really opened up the engine bay.

It came with the carburetor

Nope. I am using this same carb and a header at the same time. I'm in the middle of rebuilding my FE. The header comes with the 02 sensor hole but it has a plug in it if you dont want to use it. Without all the smog the 02 is no longer doing anything. This carb basically takes it back old school simple.

@@AbnormalGarage I also see they make a Weber 38/38. Do you think that the b2200 will run with it ok? Or do you think I should just go with the one you guys have?

The 32/36 offers a little extra power, with decent gas mileage. The 38 will make the truck much quicker, but your gas milage will suffer from my understanding. It's up to you with what you want out of the truck.

The Weber 32//36 Carb adds a little extra HP and improve the gas mileage slightly, but yes, it definitely cleans up the engine bay and removes all the factory emission mess.
