Silly me. I studied electronics back in the day and completely forgot about 'band pass filters'. Of course this is how you 'sift out' the sub-woofer signals. Well done son! Very useful tip and reminder.

@@Work_G Unfortunately for you it's basically a dead industry in the West. Unless you are an engineer working with CAD and Bots, you're never going to be involved in anything of interest. However, people do spend big on their car stereo systems nowadays. Sometimes more than the 'go fast' items. Working at a 'high end' Car Audio place would make for a great first job, while you're putting yourself through Uni!

Almost any speaker will work, and that's the point on this install to take signal via converter with stock head unit, because rarely they come with necessary outputs. Sure there is some quality loss but you have to be real super into music to notice it

So many issues with this install. Yes you could technically so it the way you show. There are better ways. I would have used a T harness over soldering and cutting into factory wire. Also the turn on lead is suspect and the ground is not the most secure.

My car has an auto function, so as soon as the engine starts running lights turns on (headlights and tail lights) and amplifier activates from the same source. If you will use brake or reverse than your system will work only when you are braking or reversing the car. That is probably the only way in this case, splice in nearest speaker wires (if no speakers in trunk, use door speakers) maybe in your car is some kind of factory amplifier where all speaker wires meet. Plus the car is off, there is no need to worry about solderiñg the wiring from the speaker out wire, it ís just speaker wire and not power wire. Àlso with some new vehicles, the stock radio does a good job with android auto and car play and there is no need to switch it out.
