The process is pretty simple and only required removal of a few OEM pieces. The outcome is pretty nice, we're definitely feeling a bit more power and hearing a more aggressive sound while accelerating. So far we love the intake and will be testing to see if we're getting better mileage.

Great job Ally! I did a K&N cold air intake kit on my 2000 Chevy S10 along with a MagnaFlow Cat-Back exhaust. Didn't increase power much (2.2 L 4 cylinder engine) but it did increase gas mileage. I'm going to use your videos to show to those stodgy old ladies and princesses at my house of worship who always say "But women don't know these things!" Rosie the Riveter would be proud!

rule no.1, dont tighten one end of the screw before putting in the other one. You should be loosely screw on both before tighten em for a flush fitment.

Please help me to found a Vent Air Filter because my new Short Ram air filter is like the one you use in the video, but i don't have the little one that is for the breath hose? how many inches is the 1 that i need for my Mazda 3 2004.

I'm interested in doing this to my 2014 2.5L M3. It has what appears to e a stock cold air intake, but it snakes it way with multiple twists and turns through somewhat narrow duct work until it gets to the inlet at the bottom (doesn't seem very efficient). Does Simota have one designed for this specific car ? Thanks

hi, how what did you do with the second EGR connector that splits off from the one that connects to the MAF? Also, breather filter doesn't fit in the back of the engine. Looks like that you modified your breather filter to fit. Thanks. 05mazda3 2.3L

Is the battery cooling duct necessary? Because it blocks the view of intake, and the intake is mostly for looks...

kazymerchyk Well to be more accurate, it's more for the sound. Yes, you've been looking at this all wrong. The real increase of an intake, especially a short ram (we're not even talking about a CAI) is like 2hp... maybe 5hp if we're generous. Even a CAI would be less than 10hp (once again, being generous). It's really just to make your engine sound louder. But we would all like to think more noise = more power.

not unless it has a mass air flow sensor. you can always smog your car and put the intake afterwards and hold on to the original till the next time you smog your car. cheers from SD .

+KiingChromeo If you have the PZEV model it will run like total shit. Slower everywhere in the powerband and it will heat bog bad. If you stop to pump gas for instance. Then go to take off again, it will actually bog out to a stall (Gulping hot air, confusing the computer).

Completely worthless. Vehicle will automatically adjust fuel and air ratio no matter what style of filtration is in place. No such thing as an actual "cold air intake". Air is hot/warmed before even entering the intake manifold due to engine bay temp and all of the piping that is hot after the so called cold air intake filter... That is a Ford engine btw. Look around and you will see "fomoco" ford motor company. Mazda isn't anything special.
