AWESOME GUIDE MAN!!! THUMBS UP!!! I purchased aux-in cable from china for my S550 (2007) but it don't fit nowhere on the back of my NTG unit. They sent me 12 pin white connector looking thing that is way wrong for my car. With your guide I was able to take apart that wrong 12 pin connector, pull out 3 pins for audio and hook them up to pins 5,6,15,16 like you showed with both grounds crossed. Now my AUX works wonders. YOU are the best!!
also an update about that pinout, circuit grounds pin 6 and 16 are already crossed inside amp. So u actually only need to hook up one of the two ground pins if your audio source will be 3.5 rca mini jack ;)
Do you think there’s any way for me to replace that frayed cable in the glovebox? My cord doesn’t work anymore and I can’t find a replacement one anywhere. I’m referring to the cl550
I have not. The only options I can consider is to hard wire a Bluetooth adapter that requires a 12v supply and uses the aux input. Tuck it away somewhere.
I'm watching from Japan. Hello. I also have a late W221 S350 (2010) and listen to music from my smartphone using an FM transmitter, but the noise is terrible and it's inconvenient, so I'm watching this video and wondering if there's a way to do it. What I came up with is that since I won't be using MP3s again, is it possible to remove the MP3 playback line on the back of the CD deck, insert it there, connect it to my smartphone via wire, and be able to play music? If this were possible, wouldn't it be possible to play music from a smartphone by selecting MP3 without having to connect the Benz to the computer used to modify it and turn on AUX? I think. By the way, in my car, there is no place to connect the AUX cord or three-color terminal in the glove box on the passenger seat, so I'm having trouble. Please tell us your opinion. thank you.
I have a question. I want to make aux after watching your video It's a 2007 s350 car I need to connect voice input wiring to 15 and 5 terminals Which number is left and which number is right? Can you tell me?
@@goldelementautoworks I don't, but only because i had to swap command units and when the dealership reprogrammed it they took the aux function away. I see theres a way to get into the menu with a STAR tool
is it an NTG3 or NTG3.5 drive? I have a 2007 CL500 just like yours and it doesn't have an AUX connection in the glove box. Is it possible to put it? There is no original mercedes cable?
Either it isn’t done correctly, or the cord/device isn’t efficient. It’s a direct left/ground/right connection. So it ‘should’ be very clear and precise.
I connected it as followed in the video but only have audio from the front, i switch it around and then only got audio from the back, all speakers work when connected to radio but not when on aux mode
@@goldelementautoworks the cabling, i got an aux cord with 3 pin connections, one white cable, one red cable & one yellow cable, I’ve been switching them around from 15,5,6 as the seller of the aux didn’t specify what each color was
One part of the speakers works perfect and the other 3 don’t on aux, when i switch the car over to radio all 4 speakers work fine, could this be incorrect pin connections or could it be the aux itself
@@VrFilmz On the back of your Mercedes harness…..do you have 3 wires? One is a ground. One is a left and one is a right. It should activate all speakers. Are your settings on your screen, in aux mode……are the settings for all all speakers? Surround sound.
When the radio does not come on…….does the screen power on? If it does, do you get any sound from your system? Sound from cd changer, radio, or anything?
@@goldelementautoworks thanks for replying. Yes the radio turns on but won’t get any station. Everything in the car works but the radio. And sometimes it will work, especially if it’s raining or wet outside. I’m curious as to what it could be 🤔
@@theurbanartist775 If everything works except the radio, it sounds like the antenna is not hooked up or the antenna could be cut somewhere, which wouldn't let you pull in a radio signal. I'd pull the unit to see if the antenna is connected.
Man I just bought 2007s550 and there is no auxiliary cord in the car. I called car audio shops and they said they don’t touch them cause I want to hook up aux cord. I went to Mercedes and the order a cord that has 3 rca plugs on it and he said to plug it into the back of the radio. Have you heard of that?and will this video you’ve done here work for the 07 s550?
Yes. It will work. As long as they’re referring to inserting the wires into the harness as I did in this video. This video is on a 2007 and 2008 S550 and CL550.
