I was attempting to start changing my coil overs on my cl500 and since it was low I had a block tapered to where I can drive it on to get clearance to jack the front end up, as I was driving it on the car cut off within a few seconds I seen smoke on the passenger side fender area, it wouldn’t turn the key and I replaced the eis fuse 3 times it turns the key but the fuse over and over pops so obviously I have a short, and it still produces smoke so I have a bad short has never done this before, do you know where I should start looking for the short it’s not coming from the fuse box area in the passenger side, it seems like i may have to remove the front left fender to gain access or move the wheel well cover but I can’t even jack it up since I can’t drive it on the block, do you know what maybe causing this any feedback would be a blessing 🙏
@@kashiomodashio6455 Do you have the factory jack? If so….use it to raise the car by the factory side jack points covered by the square covers. Then go from there. Get access to the alarm horn and unplug it.
@@goldelementautoworks I actually used the the factory jack out of my w140 and it worked lol, and as far as the the factory horn do you think that could be why my eis fuse keeps blowing?
@@goldelementautoworks thanks it got late I did disconnect the alarm horn siren, I need to buy some fuses tommorow and give it a try so fingers crossed 🤞 thanks for the intel I’ll let you know if it works thanks so much thanks 🙏
Thanks so much 🙏 that alarm siren was shorted out causing it to smoke by the passenger front fender, I thought I was screwed lol! I removed it and the wire to the alarm siren was completely shorted it was fried, so I taped it up and put a bud connector and threw a fuse and vola! She stated right up, I replaced the front coil overs so far, I’m going to tackle the rear here soon, it’s weird tho my power steering feels normal, I haven’t converted it over to the normal power steering pump as I still have the tandem pump on, is that normal?
I was always scared of everything after they brought out Chrysler...but the 2006 s550 brought me back in......but I always love this model.......playboi speed shyt 😂🎉❤...its beautiful how you got all them * Ms * lined up.....
I just picked the same color s 600 and my check engine just came on ....its a blessing just cuz I stumble across yours ....too funny u said bbs boys...I know the president and his brother😅😅😅😅
@@dominicjones5446 They never made a S550 coupe during the years of this model (07-13) They only had a CL based on the S chassis. Beginning in late 2014, they introduced a S550 coupe.
Thanks for this! yeah, it was a bit confusing at first but I finally got what you were saying. I'm upgrading the system in my 2000 CL500 and it's been quite the journey. Why MB made the stock head unit in that ONE year so "foreign" baffles me as any upgrade requires major surgery to the console wood trim. NO ONE makes a trim piece to accomodate an upgrade for that one single year...only the '01 and beyond. Those are all over eBay and AliExpress but nothing for the '00. I've had to dremel the console trim piece to accomodate the new trim for a 7" touchscreen and it still requires some cosmetics to blend it all in. Once I get the dash trim to where I'm satisfied with the look, the real PITA of the install begins. Wish me luck!!
There's no need of removing anything, apply talcum powder and blow it off, that ugly stickiness will be gone in less than a minute, no scrubbing or removing anything is needed
Thank you for this video. I'm here in Cali, though from Columbus. I have a 2012 s550, that appears to be draining my starter batteries. I try to use my key to unlock the door, nothing. I use the mechanical key to open the door, there are no dash lights. This is a brand new battery. Might you have any suggestions? Also I need to replace my transmission mount. Have you ever replaced yours? Obtw, I have a 2001 S500, and a 2009 E350. My front looks like a car lot. 😆 thank you in advance for your help.
What's up brother Ralph in Philadelphia just wanted to let you know I finally got my Cl back running I put another motor back in it it was the start of wires and a problem with my neutral safety switch
you always have a great video. i am also would like to put 20in wheel 9.5 front and 10.5 rear with silver coil over in my SL500. i just want to ask what offset should i get? i love the offset in your SL. Thanks and hope you could help me on this.
Boight veey similar one ( i think it has around 58k on it now). for my son , we are changing the abs to coil over in the next month. I didn't even know soft close was even a thing.
The scanners that are sold on Amazon are clones, DONT BUY Launch does not support them, and the upgrading of these units are fake. I have found this out because I bought one and had a problem and called Launch Support, they said Launch does not sell scanners on Amazon, they are clones, soory we cannot help you, Lucky I still could return it
Where do you start and where do you finish? Rescue costs much money and time… İ love the SL, I own myself a SL55 from 2002, but this car isn’t worth it, I think
MUCH DEPENDS ON WHERE YOU ARE WITH YOUR INVENTORY/AVAILABLE TIME/FREE TIME TO DRIVE....I HAVE TWO OF THEM AND I WOULD HAVE MORE GIVEN PARAMETERS ABOVE. ONE CANNOT DISMISS THE "PARTS" VALUE TO THESE MODELS AS WELL. I HAVE INTERCHANGED PARTS FREELY AS NEEDED....BEATS PAYING SOMEONE ELSE!
We need a Mechanic!!! I’ll pay for shipping to have my m113 rebuilt. I can not find a single Ad or Mechanic that is confident with this motor. Unless I take $10k to Dallas TX.
Mister IDK you from Adam, but I'll give you the same advice I'd give anybody else. This car is not a Camry or Accord with parts on every corner for decent prices. It's practically an exoticar and every part will cost ten times as much. I wouldn't think twice, DUMP
Thank you for that advice. I’m very resourceful regarding parts, rebuilds and maintenance of Mercedes. I can fix every issue for cheap…..this is what I’ve done for years. I’ve rebuilt many Mercedes to various degrees over the years. So it’s not about the ability to or cost necessarily…..but what’s more profitable on my end. What’s more advantageous. I could fix it and sell it to someone. I could sort it out. That’s what I’m trying to figure out.
