@@CoachDro can you help a homie out bro?, I have the same headlights & just ordered some 9008 LED's & no bueno, they don't fit. I see you got 9006 Hb4, when I searched it I found 3 different styles. Idk which 1 to get. Any chance you have the link for the ones you ordered? Also did you have problems fitting the bulb into that metal circle housing? Thanks in advance!
Hey buddy I bought this exact set up from the links you posted...I’m having a hard time figuring out how you installed the h13 led bulbs anyway you can help me out with that?
Sorry you're having trouble. The fit checking on Amazon says it fits the 04-08 F150. People in the question and answer section says it fits as well. I do remember being a little metal piece in the housing that made it difficult to push the bulb in so I could quarter turn it. I eventually got it, but I was a pain. I would try the bulb in your oem headlight assembly to make sure they are the right bulbs for your truck. Also try your old bulb in the new housing to make sure it can go in with no problems. I have that grill on my 2008 f150 and had to change out the lights in it just last night. They only last maybe year or so but the led replacements I bought are super NICE but have been considering putting these kind of headlights on my truck. Probably should buy better lights at same time I buy these headlights? Great vid though man.
Great video. However I bought the same headlights for my 06 F150, and the DRL don't work....also since installing the flood lights, side markers and parking lights don't work anymore. I've checked most of the fuses and all seem fine. Any other ideas..?
I would get a test light and confirm you are get 12vt power on wires that are coming from your truck. Test the ground wire too. If the test out good. The problem is definitely with the headlights. If they are still new I would send them back if your wiring checks out.
Quick question regarding the led replacement bulbs. Did you have to remove the metal circle piece (under plastic fastener) in order to get the Fahren H13 bulbs in? I have the Torchbeam T2 H13 bulbs and they're very similar of style and they were nowhere close to fitting since that metal circle is too small of an opening. I just ordered a 9006 Fahren bulb and an H1 for the high beam. I installed these headlights about 30 minutes ago.
Unfortunately a lot of people have been having issues with replacing the bulb to something else. When I swapped mine to LED I noticed the bulb was a little loose and I just used a piece of silicon to take up the gap and its been fine. I thought it was just a problem with the bulb that I bought. What seems to be the problem is that the OEM bulb that fits this truck does not really fit this housing. It is not clear what bulb really fits it I seen someone else say they were going to put in the 9006 bulb but they never wrote back to say if it worked. Maybe the bulbs that comes with the housings are 9006 I threw mine away before I looked to see if it had any writing on it. I would definitely try the 9006 and if it works could you please comment back so I would know what to tell people who ask the question. I'll probably get me some and make another video just to clear it all up once and for all. thank you.
@@jpulley Hey J. Thanks for the response. The H1 high beams and 9006 low beams come in Monday night. I'll probably install on Tuesday unless they come in early enough. When i ordered the headlight housing unit off Amazon, it was as you mentioned, being Acanii. I will test out the bulbs and let you know if it goes well, i can attach tags to the bulbs so others can follow along. For the low beams i purchased a light from Fahren. The high beam one is not know by myself, but had good reviews and it's from Honcs US. I'll post more when i test it out. Thanks.
@@CoachDro slight correction to my initial post. The fahren bulbs are the H1 bulbs and the Honcs US are the 9006. I love the 9006, but the Fahren bulbs have sat on the back burner for me. There is a hard plastic covering over the high beam spot and I'm (now) trying to figure out how to get the wires through that without destroying the whole thing. Unfortunately, it looks like the plastic cover would have to not be in use to keep it waterproof. I thought about drilling a small hole, but the big majority of the bulb unit would have to be fed through. I will look at another route soon. But again, to answer your question, the Honcs US 9006 bulbs shine bright and are white.
So does your truck have DLRs? My truck doesn't and I'm trying to find a way to splice to a wire that gets power when the car is on and off when the car goes off....let me know
No my truck doesn't have DLRs. I read a comment by a guy who went through all the trouble to wire up the LED strip to light up during the day. He said it was a waste of time because the LED strip is not bright enough to really see in the daylight.
hey, awesome video. quick question. I'm trying to get these same headlights for my 07 f150, did u have any trouble with the led replacement bulbs you have in the link? no flickering?
I've had no flickering with the bulbs I originally went with but I did have some issues with the fit. The bulb was a little lose when I twisted them in. I used a piece of silicon to help take up that gap and I had no problems since. However I installed led replacements on two more of my cars since then and I used sealight brand for both and they have had no issues with fit or anything. So I would actually recommend these by sealight over what I originally had in the description amzn.to/3qpRCKV
Wow I didn't realize so many people have the same set up! 🔥🔥 So I'm having the same issue as most of y'all. The LED's I ordered aren't fitting inside that metal circle housing 😤. I know Dro said he used 9006 HB4 LED's. But does anyone know if they fit in the housing ok? Or did y'all have to do some modifications for the new bulbs to fit? If anyone can share the link for the bulbs that'd be Awesome!! Thanks 👍🏼
From what people are saying the 9006 HB4 are the correct fit. I used my original led bulbs that were the same as the oem. My bulbs were a little loose and I used some silicon gasket to snug it up. I'll probably order me some 9006 HB4 soon.
I used these www.amazon.com/dp/B07GKC818Q?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share They are super bright but right out the box they were loose I added some silicon gasket material to take up some of that space and they fit fine after that.
I didnt, I was thinking about trying to do it in the future. I saw a guy's post on a forum who did it but he said they are not bright enough to see during the day so it's a waste of time to wire them up like that.
No moisture build-up inside the lens at all I keep the truck parked outside it's been in a ton of rain and driven and a lot of rain I didn't do anything extra to seal up the seams.
No the strips will not work as daytime running lights. I saw a comment in the reviews where a guy went through the trouble to wire his up that way and he said they were not bright enough to really see in the daytime.
I’m thinking about getting these lights for my 08. I’m going to get the Sealight LEDs H13/9008. Quick question….that is a high and low beam light. So what bulb do you have in your high beams slot???
for high beam I just use the bulbs that come in it. I don't use High beams much. some people is saying the low beams are 9006 I'm not really sure what to use. My low beam fit loose and I just used a workaround to make them fit snug. Some other people saying they can't even get the 9008 to even fit at all.
Kool. Thanks. I think I’m gonna try these. SEALIGHT H13/9008 LED Headlight Bulbs Dual High/Low Beam X1 Series Xenon White 6000K 6000LM www.amazon.com/dp/B07G6ZP9CM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_BWCXFRW8YREMC538E294?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1. Do you have any issues with moisture getting in.
@@jpulley do you happen to know what high beam bulb is in there? I keep searching for HB4 but they don’t look the same as the high beam bulbs that came with it
I have these same lights. I love the look of them. Do you find the low beam lights they came with to not be very bright? Also, there is one light beam adjust screw, does that adjust both the high beam and low beam?
I'm thinking of making this mod with the same lights. Any issues since then? I read the part how you used silicone material to put in hids, maybe I'm dense but I didn't really understand.
The replacement LED bulbs were a little loose when I installed them in this head lamp. I just used a pice of rubbery silicon to to make it a more snug fit. I don't know if this was the head lamp or the bulbs. I think it was the bulbs I bought since my old oem bulb would fit snug no problem. Overall I've had no issues with these headlights so far.
@@davidmobley4983 I bought these led bulbs amzn.to/3iXKPEI they put out tons of white like at 600k. I do recommend them with the only caveat is they are loose fitting out of the box. I used that silicone material to help give them a tight fit and have had no problems.
They just come on when your headlights are on. You probably didn't get a good connection when you plugged in that part. I would go back and re-check they are somewhat difficult to get plugged in right. At 5:28 I'm plugging in the Halo lightbar and its kinda weird but I get it done.
According to the parts compatibility checker on Amazon they are not interchangeable. I also checked out some fourms and it seems that headlights from this generation F150 cannot be used in the expedition from that same generation.
Hey, love the video, got a question for you: any way to make it so when you turn your high beams on, they don't turn off the low beams? I found they only turn both on when I pull the high beams
I got the same lights. They sure give the truck a newer look. But have the common headlight flickering like a strobe light. Really annoying when your trying to read a sign. Do you have that problem?
Is the included light bulb flickering or the LED Strip? I replaced the included lightbulb in two days. They were very dim, but I don't recall flickering. With my new bulbs I don't have flickering in the bulb or LED Strip.
Pretty sure if you want your truck to be street legal you have to have the yellow turn signal and the yellow reflector on the side of the headlight. Show truck or off road only I guess do whatever.
No, you still have high and low beam functionality. Unlike the original headlight, this housing has two different bulbs for high and low. On the back of the new head light the wires split both bulbs. I just replaced the low beam to led. I don't use the high beams very often.
@@brandoncoots4736 the type of bulb that really supposed to fit is tricky the original bulbs that came in the truck fit perfect. So I bought replacements led that supposed to be for this generation of f150 fit kinda loose but I made it work by using a piece of silicon to take up the extra space like a gasket. At this point I'm not 100% which bulb will give you a perfect fit.
The led strip wire slid back into the housing what kind of crackpot fucking design is this? I managed to get one installed and had to take it right off when the other one became unusable because the strip head back into the housing. Now I got to return these piece of shit headlights
Yeah that doesn't seem to be a good design. The way they have it seems like an afterthought. If they have at least made the wires longer so we could actually grab it that would make it a lot easier to deal with. Can you possibly get the plug back out with some tweezers?
@@jpulley I tried that but it's hidden behind the casing I'm going to return them and get a replacement and try again one last time as I like the plug and play option but yeah they seriously messed that part up
