If you weren’t doing the rear 12v sockets, would you have wired the dash cam the same way? As a rookie, I’m not thrilled about the idea of cutting into the wiring like that on my new vehicle. Thanks so much for showing the wire routing.
Yes. Because both needed a hot and an accessory/ignition. I would recommend checking out the center console disassembly. You wont need all of it, but just the top part where the shifter is. If you remove that area, it will expose the wiring for the only 12 volt sickets wires in the armrest. Those two wires turn on and off and are fused from the factory. It would be like plugging it in the cigarette lighter but from behind so you can hide the wires. Im a rookie on youtube as well. 🤣🤣🤣..I wish I used my "professionalism" a looooong time ago on here. But theres always a starting point. Its a Toyota, you have no real issues. Almost everything goes back like you never touched it. May the force be with you..🤪🤪🤪
