Great video thank you for making this. Couple hints to add for someone watching this because they’re going crazy trying to install: These worked fine on my 22 Chief Bobber with the Scout adapters Jim’s idea of mounting the boards to the adapters is the only way to go, not even sure it’s possible following Kuryakyn’s instructions to mount the adapters first. I put the shim in the bench vise and flattened it almost completely (it’s still more than tight enough) Put grease on the bracket, the shim and the retaining pin. Lined up the flat end of the shim on the adapter with the holes lined up and knocked it in gently with a rubber mallet Used a thin Allen key to put through the hole and wiggled it to line everything up for the pin. Did all this the following day after i got too frustrated to continue on the first day, using this method the next day it took all of a half hour. Thanks again for the great video and the brilliant idea of mounting the adapter to the board first! I’d probably still be working on it if you didn’t figure that one out!
You are a true inspiration to this 64 year old retired educator…your videos have given the the confidence and “BALLS” to finally pull the trigger and order my 2022 ISB…thank you brother BOB…😎👍🏼🤠
I also swapped my pegs for Kuryakyn mini boards - my hips are much happier! I found that removing the OEM coil spring is easier if you use vise grips to keep the coil from spinning as you pick the end. Then just grab the end with needlenose, release the grip, and pull it off.
Thank you for the installation video. It's nice to see the struggle and how it was overcome. Also, I can confirm... the "D Spring" is in fact an asshole (@ 5:50)
Haha it really is. I try not to cut out me fumbling with stuff and having a hard time. It's important to see others struggle and solve unexpected problems.
Sweet! These are generic Amazon grips. Search "YZF grips". The aluminum comes in a bunch of different anodized colors. I've been really happy with them, but they'll soon be replaced with some Motogadget grips that'll better match my new mirrors and toe pegs that are on the way.
Bike looks great. I don't like those style pegs because riding boots cstch, drag when taking foot on and off or foot drags when trying to adjust foot. Some people that doesn't bug but me it does and why I don't like but again bike looks great.
@@Jimbobbington Cool. I'm more a boots guy with I tried those exact ones and didn't like with boots. Personal choice cool boots or not. Again like the whole look of your bike.
Lol I installed floor boards today too lolz . I went with the counterfeit Indians on Amazon. I never realized how flimsy the Indian shift rod is. Mine is bent. I plan on replacing it with a billet one.
@@Jimbobbington yes sir. They’re long. I took it out for a nice long ride and they’re much more comfortable than the pegs. I was planning on the ones you got but ended up getting these due to price. I have a Memphis shades road warrior coming in tomorrow and a dean speed 22” slim sissy bar soon. All that will be left is bars and seat. The stock seat is brutal but it doesn’t look too bad. I want the mustang with back rest but seem to be out of stock everywhere
