How to Install Luxury Vinyl Plank (Trafficmaster Allure) 

Grip strip uses adhesive at the edge of the planks which overlap each other and stick. No tapping block required. All that's needed is your foot to walk the seams after!

No issues so far. No scratches or defects and definitely water resistance (from snow at the doorway). It gets good reviews from landlords for it's longevity. If it can hold up to tenants for years it should last a long time for a home owner who takes care of it.

The roller is used to compress the glue joints together so probably once the floor is completely done. However, I just walked on the joints right after laying each plank to make sure the glue pressed together and didn't use a roller, so roller was optional.

Yes the top of one strip and bottom of overlapping strip have adhesive. Fully floating.

Subflooring is definitely needed but I'm assuming you mean underlayment...in which case it depends. For normal wood subflooring, underlayment is not needed unless for comfort reasons like heat/sound. For concrete, underlayment might be needed as a moisture/vapor/heat barrier. High moisture/acidity will cause these to fail... but you won't know unless the concrete is tested for moisture intrusion. I was fine not using any underlayment on basement concrete but mine is subterranean and dry. No adhesive failure or plank delamination. Flatness is required no matter what it's installed over or joints will separate.

Correct. I saved all the "starter" pieces to reuse. Sorry if I didn't point that out. The actual waste ended up being less than 2% for the house, and the unusable parts I re-purposed as furniture sliders.
