I had thought installing tires was super straight forward & simple, but I managed to mess up the first install completely. Luckily my subscriber ringod123 told me about the rear radials & the Facebook groups helped me with the front end & identifying the groves inside the tires. Now I have the tires reinstalled &fitted beautifully.

Damn. I just realized this after watching ur vid. Mine, 3 of 4 tyres was installed incorrectly. Plus, if u're using PN tyres, I realized we can easily recognize it by the PNR label on the tyres (should be outside). Thanks man.

Awesome, this is the exact situation I was trying to help with! The PNR label is great but is still managed to put the radials on backwards he first time 😂

Love this. Question for you.. I am looking at buying my first Mini Z. Not for track use, but to drift around the house with my son. So, looking at the AWD models (M020). However, I thought it would be cool to also have some "grip tires" so, we have the option to also go faster if I wanted to make a "track" in our house. It is SO confusing to see how this would be done. Can you recommend what I would need to buy to have an extra set of tires that are rubber that I can swap out on that car? Thank you SO much!

Good video friend, I think you are a reference for many people who start in the mini-z, for me you are, and I really appreciate it, for making these videos of your time, and I am sure that it helps many people, THANK YOU!! How is that movie .....? The Great "ball of fire", can it be a very long car name? I'll leave it there, a hug and take care !! Ball of Fire!

Wonderful! Its great to hear that my videos are helping people out, especially beginners. I hope to one day cover every mini-z topic so I can have an "encyclopedia" of videos for beginners to come and research on my channel. I remember when I first started it was so hard to find information, but luckily the community is growing & information is more readily available. Thank you for this wonderful comment, hearing stuff like this makes my day! For the car name, I actually really like "BooMeR" that you gave me on the previous video.lol I think I am going to go with this name, I just need to change it in the transmitter to make it official ;) Stay safe out there my friend!

I have recently gotten into mini RC racing and have taped off a little track in my garage on smooth concrete floor. I'm having a lot of fun with it but the car wants to lose traction in the corners and come around on me. So I'm looking to start by upgrading the tires. I've been watching these helpful videos but there's not much describing the different tire compounds and what works best for different surfaces. There is so much to choose from and I'm looking for a little help deciding what to go with. I've seen smooth, radial, and foam with different degrees and widths. Is there something you can recommend for me to get the traction on the smooth concrete floor? I'm kind of looking at the kyosho mini z super soft but like I said not really sure if that would be my best option. And I'm not sure what compound or degree would be best for my situation. Anything I purchase would have to be mail order with shipping costs and unable to return. So I'm hoping to get some advice with one or two options and hopefully get it right and not have to purchase a whole bunch of different tires hoping for the best. The track is about 12 ft x 18 ft with some straightaways and tight cut back corners. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Hey Chris, the basic idea is to run the softest possible tires you can get away with. Softer tires wear out quicker & sometimes they can have so much bite the car will “traction roll” when aggressively cornering so it’s a balancing act between grip level & tire wear. You have to experiment to find the perfect compound for your driving style & surface conditions. Since your in the garage you also want to take the surface conditions into account, i.e. the dust & debris levels. You want to wipe down the track (leaf blower works too) every time before you use it. Even a small amount of dirt on the tires will cause you to lose traction. For tire type, I recommend flat/smooth tires since more contact surface = more grip, but radials will work fine too so don’t sweat it too much. As for the size, just make sure the tires match your current rims. Since your running on smooth concrete you want soft compound rubber tires, foam tires are for high traction carpet tracks. Hope this helps brother & good luck!!

@@BMR3 thank you for the response. It will go a long way helping me narrow down the selections available. I will probably order a couple different levels of the smooth surface soft compound tires and see which ones I like. I'm sure they will wear out and by then I will know which ones I really like and just reorder those particular ones. You are correct the surface gets dusty since it is in the garage underneath where I park my car. My drift car loves the surface but my speed car not so much. What is your experience with a drift car on a carpet surface? I have thought about laying down smooth tight matte outdoor carpet. But as I increase the traction for my speed car I will probably hurt the drift car. It would be nice to find a balance between the traction I need for the speed car and still be able to drift on it with the right combination of tires or a different surface

@@BMR3 hey man let me ask you one more question real quick. You have multiple different cars and like me want to do both drifting and track racing. I think you could give me some help on this. So the cars I bought are the Wltoys ones. The 969 and the 989. Was browsing around on RU-vid and saw a couple videos of these that reminded me when I was a kid having fun with RC cars. Made the impulse purchase because they were cheap and did not know if I would use them a few times and never touch them again or actually get into RC again as a hobby. Well I'm having fun with them but I'm finding out that as their $69 price tag would suggest to have the most fun with these a lot needs to be upgraded. All the electronics would need upgraded to go brushless or add a gyro. The differentials and suspension components are not the greatest. And parts aren't easy to come by. I'm thinking about an Amazon return on these vehicles for something better that doesn't need so much upgrading right out of the box. If you had a buddy wanting to get into this hobby and get a vehicle for race and a vehicle for drift which would you recommend? Not critical but if they were both the same brand I think that would help in the long run if parts were somewhat interchangeable. I think I want to find some better vehicles and any pros and cons you can give me of the nicer ones would be helpful since they are not cheap but I realize you get what you pay for. The RC track in my area doesn't carry or know much about these little cars so I'm on RU-vid trying to get the information I need. Any advice you can give me on what your favorite vehicles are for drifting and racing would be helpful and appreciated. Thank you

Hello there! Great video, I have a question for you if you don’t mind! I’m new to the hobby specially the mini-z, I was just wondering how many cars can you control with one remote and how can you do it if is possible? Thank you for your help, and again great video

I have seen people bind multiple mini-z cars to the kt531p, I’m not sure what the limit it but you can bind at least 3-4 to the stock controller. You just have to make sure the other cars are turned off when running one of them. The Kt432pt that I use has a 30 model memory if I remember correctly.

Hey, is it possible to lower the body of the car, to get less distance between tire and body?
@BMR3
@BMR3 4 года назад
Yep, simple process. Be very careful & remove the side mounting clips from inside your body. Then you just position them higher in the body & reglue them in place. Presto, all done. When you mount it back on the car the body will sit lower. It might be smart to mark the original position so you can actually gauge how far to adjust the clips. Hope this helps & good luck!! (P.s. be careful you don’t lower the body so far down that the tires run then suspension is flexed)
@tombreproduction9519
@tombreproduction9519 4 года назад
@@BMR3 thank you very much! But arent this clips glued to the body?
@BMR3
@BMR3 4 года назад
Yep, they are glued in but I have seen multiple people online saying they removed the clips & repositioned them. Be super careful when you do it. Maybe heat up the body with a hair dryer & use an exact-o blade to gently remove the clips.

How do you know what tires fits your rims ?? I’m new to this
@BMR3
@BMR3 4 года назад
Hey man, newbies are welcome! There are only two sizes, the front tires are always narrow & rear tires are wide. There are also the larger LM size tires, but those are clearly labeled with an LM on the package. Let me know if you have any further questions!

Batman21 I buy everything I can from Kenon hobby, they are the official US distributor for PN Racing, so supporting Kenon helps support the community. Here is a link to the MR-03 section of PN tires and rims: www.kenonhobby.com/Wheel-Tire-Parts_c_182.html Let me know if I can help you any further 😉

Rims are in the same section, but here are about 11 pages you have to look through to find all the different styles. You can also check under the Kyosho upgrade parts section for the MR-03, they will have more rims with different styles from PN.
