This was a super helpful walk-through! I suggest if you are following along to take time to make sure you're following each step exactly if you don't know what you're doing.
@@GEEKrarGuides Hello geekrar, when i try to install the os it do installs it and restarts automatically but after that it shows Apple logo at top and a bar at bottom and it says estimating time remaining but its just keeps on saying that and gets on a infinite load
Subscribed. As someone going for Net+ and is just getting back into IT this was an awesome tutorial, thank you for providing web resources on your site rather than having to hunt down an ISO or DMG (let alone some strange torrent haha). I pay homage to the extra effort.
I managed to install on a Linux host, pretty much the same steps but with a few tweaks on the commands, the only issue I faced is that the mouse and keyboard became unresponsive when I enabled USB 3.0 but it worked fine if I switched to 2.0. Thank you very much for this tutorial.
Man your a legend. Had a bit of trouble getting the installer to pick up the hard-drive. But clicked finder then disk utility and erased the created vdi. and selected install and it worked
Hey, sorry to bother, can you provide me a direct link to the Catalina ISO? I can't complete the email verification on your forum website as it never sent me a verification email. It would be greatly appreciated!
Hi, when I try to start VM, I get error "Failed to query SMC value from the host (VERR_Invalid_Handle). Result Code: E_Fail (0x80004005). Component: ConsoleWrap, Interface Iconsole." My processor is: Intel Core i7-10850h cpu @2.70GHz, 6cores Any idea?
Doesn't work for me. Every time I get to the part in 7:56 , I can see the wall of text scrolling up and then... it just crashes and keeps reseting. It never gets to the part where it starts asking the language or anything else.
signed up on the website and it keeps saying my email is awaiting verification, but no verification email is showing up, I've literally signed up with two different emails and same .
So fair warning. This is an accurate tutorial but its also broken. As in the link the boot image needs a sign in and when you try to register the form works but doesn't send you the email required to register. Thankfully I'm not really taking my attempt to virtualize Mac OS seriously I'm just seeing how the process has changed over the years. Its doable but the amount of teeth pulling involved and how limited it is when it does work, you'd be better off buying a Mac if you have the money.
Hey, I know this is an old tutorial, but do we need both the vmdk and the iso files? It's seeming like we need both, but I just want to be sure. Another question, will this work on AMD CPUs?
@@GEEKrarGuides please help me out after following the complete instruction after installation it always jump to the Mac recovery section every time I restart the virtual machine
If you have an AMD chipset and have issues getting the VM to boot try adding this command to the command file. Worked for me. VBoxManage modifyvm "ios code" --cpu-profile "Intel Core i7-6700K"
Thank immensely, you're such a great resource. I have subscribed. I read your articles on this and used VirtualBox disk image, macOS catalina iso, and VirtualBox 7. My cursor was hanging at completion - to reolve it, I changed the display to VBoxVGA. Again, during installation of macOS, I set the HDD as the primary boot device so I did not have to shut down and remove the installation media. One other thing was that I could not interupt boot process by hitting ESC key. However, the installation was successful, or at least to the best of my knowledge. I WISH YOU COULD EXPLAIN THE COMMAND LINE SCRIPTS PLEASE.
Great tutorial, but it didn't work for me. The text started scrolling when I ran the virtual machine but it just stops and never makes it to the select language screen. Any tips?
I downloaded the VirtualBox Boot Image file for Mac OS X Catalina. However, it asks for a password when I tried to extract the file so that I can use it to install Catalina on my PC. Is there any way to obtain that file since it is password protected?
I did all the steps properly, downloaded all the files, made it half of my system ram, made it have 80gb storage, etc. But every time it loads the test, it'll just restart saying "This system was automatically rebooted after panic"
Me and several other people have had the problem of not being able to download the ISO file because your website never sent a confirmation email so we were never able to log into your website, can you help with that at all?
i only got 2 problems 1. it's lagging, but i think it's just of my pc spec 2. There is no audio coming out and coming in but, so far i'm pretty happy cuz i got to try mac os. thank you
if you're getting "Failed to open a session for the virtual machine Catalina. Configuration error: Querying "UUID" failed (VERR_CFGM_VALUE_NOT_FOUND). Result Code: E_FAIL (0x80004005) Component: ConsoleWrap Interface: IConsole {872da645-4a9b-1727-bee2-5585105b9eed}" as an error, make sure settings/system/Enable EFI (special OSes only) is checked
guys , for amd users , you need to add this command : ( VBoxManage modifyvm "catalina" --cpu-profile "Intel Core i7-6700K" ) , pin this comment or like so more ppl could benifit
Could you make a video of how to install macos ventura on virtualBox on Windows 11. I tried it and ended up in a boot loop - "the system was automatically rebooted after panic mode". All resources I found out offered a suggestion that never worked. Please give it a go if possible. Thanks once more for your nice solutions.
@@GEEKrarGuides I saw another comment talking about cursor lag and it mentioned something about turning off "Hyper-V"? Where would I have to paste the command to turn that off? In the windows cmd or MacOS cmd?
Hi, I have an issue an hoped that you could help me: I've just set up the vm etc. and started it for the first time. Now on the last line of the virtual box it freezes: "[EB|#LOG:EXITBS:START] 2021-10-16T14:08:09"
Thank you for your magnificent guide it really helps, what can i do to increase the speed of the machine it is really slow and am using 8 gb ram and 6 cpu's for the machine
The problem is not with the VirtualBox configuration. But whether the PC is with Intel processor (MacOs supported) or AMD processor. As I've found elsewhere, there must be a different command setup for AMD processors. In general, AMD processes are a problem for MacOS.
@@pavelhanus6473 put this command within your CatalinaCommands.txt file then run it, It will define your CPU as Intel processor. VBoxManage modifyvm "Catalina" --cpu-profile "Intel Core i7-6700K"
Works great just for some reason I get screen tearing when moving applications around which really sucks and it feels slow even though I have 6 cores 9gb ram and 80gb of storage allocated to it
yeah. I get the same thing, but with amd chipset. I have a Radeon 6600XT. I had to do the cpu identifier workaround mentioned by Killernator just to get it to install at all with AMD. Dragging any window tears and skips across the screen. FWIW windows 11 also does this, but various linux Desktop Environments do not. I have tried with the hardware acceleration tickbox both selected and unselected. The guest additions (from top/devices dropdown) will not install on the VM, either. I think we need a virtual graphics adapter with more ram and proper hardware acceleration for these modern OS's.
Hey Thanks for this very good video. I surely could follow you every step. But i have one problem. When i try to register on youre website i cant recive an email when i try to register on it. Could you help me with that ?
when the texts appear on screen it keeps on going and there is a message for "rebooted automatically for panic " or something along that line. Someone else in comment had the same issue. any idea anyone?
I got all the steps down up until the text is being generated when starting up the VM. last text is: (EB | #LOG:EXITBS:START] (SYSTEMDATE)T06(SYSTEMTIME) - I have already restarted Oracle. Does anyone know of a solution to this?
THANK YOU VERY MUCH, Subscribed. How to create apple ID with this ISO ? "too many new apple IDs have been created using this mac".. and USB key not detected whatever extension pack installed et configured. thank you !
