On the app it said that my system didn’t qualified for the Nest. I watched your video and followed the instructions and it worked perfectly. Thank you so much!

should you switch off the circuit breaker when you are working with live wires?
@Davedavedavedavedavedavedav
According to the google home page you need a heat link wired directly to your combi heater in order to be able to use the learning thermostat. I am really confised now. There are 2 dofferent versions, one with and the other is without the heat link?

How does this work with a dual fuel system with a thermostat that has OT1 & 0T2 wires?

Would love to hear your opinion on what thermostat to go for...I need 3 in my house ( 3 systems)... Was thinking nest or Ecobee lite 3. my systems all have multi stage heat/cool and 3 fan speeds. I heard with the most recent firmware update on the ecobee it can handle multi fan speeds, is that true? would love your opinion on things. Currently have Train 824 thermostats and honestly they suck..all read differnt temps from actual temp, etc..etc..

The newest nest thermostat will utilize the matter protocol. The implication is that it will be able to be used with homekit

My Nest isn't giving me the same screens once I plug it in to the baseplate. Any suggestions? Trying to add device to my home -- It scans the QR code, but doesn't ever add it to my home.

My friend thermostat is showing low battery. After my suggestion He took out his thermostat and charge with phone charger for six hours. after putting back an hour or so Thermostat shows battery low. My question is can I move G to C for thermostat to get power? ( Green wire to C ) I know in your other video you mentioned that fan won't run doing this. But my question is does the air conditioning & furnace works doing this ? After your reply. I have to help my friend to fix his thermostat which he lives an hour ago from me. He wants me to come & fix it for him.

Look at all this creator’s videos, he explains exactly how to use the G wire as your common wire.

The L Thermostat needs very little power to communicate to the furnace / AC circuit board. This obviates the need for a dedicated fifth common power wire (C-wire) that a significate number of customer do not have. The installation is color coated and snaps together which allows non nerds to buy / install. After installation, what may consume too much power is the RF signal for the WIFI. Although smart thermostats are very efficient today, some setups still drain batteries too quickly supporting WIFI.. Nest's workaround is to jury rig one of the four existing wires to up the power trickle to the thermostat / batteries. You may lose some functionality after doing this. The correct solution for insufficient power is to wire the thermostat in the same manner your furnace is designed. In this case add a C-wire. Buy the needed length of solid 18 gauge wire. In other words, your setup has 18-4 wire, but needs 18-5 wire. You can add the missing common wire by running an 18-1 wire any way you can between you thermostat and furnace / AC. You will have full temperature functionally and your batteries will never prematurely drain again. Any other solution is just trying to outsmart the thermostat circuitry with jumper wires, etc. Nest finally came out with a new thermostat that now requires a C-wire. I guess the complaints they got from their own overworked support department convinced them to stop fooling the masses.

So basically just make sure it's turned off FIRST. No need to turn it up.

My system only has 2 wires (red & white) connected to the existing thermostat. There is an antenna box controller connected to the system which, is believed to have been installed because the other wires aren't working, due them being damaged etc? My heat and AC currently work. If I install a Nest thermostat, could I continue to just connect only the red & white wires?
