Many Jeep owners have experienced problems with bending their front axle housings on both the Dana 30 & 44 Model. Unfortunately it is not uncommon for someone to actually bend axle tubes, even in light to moderate off-road situations. The Solution: A Nitro Axle Tube Sleeve Kit.

The thermal expansion rate of steel is .00000645" per 1'F. So from room temp to 35'F (estimated install temp, probably much higher) you have decreased that tubes diameter by .00023". Not even close enough for a press fit. Minimum press fit for mild steel is .003". Some low tension applications accept down to .002", like cylinder sleeves.

how far in are you driving the sleeves from the outside, u showed us the inside i just want to make sure my outsides look good, i have these tubes in my freezer as we speak

Apparently a lot of axle tubes are slightly bowed / bent (slightly - not kinked or anything ridiculous..). Will this do anything to straighten that out or what happens if you try to install in a tube that is not absolutely, ridiculously perfect?

My inner axle diameter is to big my dad used a Dremel to remove the bearing out the rear of a dana 35.now the bearing won't fit is there a size bigger in a bearing or would it fit in the new diameter of a sleeve?

So you dont have to weld them in? I thought they had to be welded in. That pretty cool!

No welding required! Press fit :D

Nitro Gear that’s awesome! I heard something about friction but it didn’t compute what they were referring to.

@@TexasRedneck It's a friction fit as in once the tube is not frozen it expands & stays put. Driving them in heats them up. Also there is one end that is machined with knurls that also helps them stay put with 0 play & no need for welding :) Woot Woot!

@@NitroGear One more question, I saw the diff housing was empty when they installed these. Can I just pull the outside knuckles and axle shafts and then put these in without having to open up the diff cover?

Is removing the axle and guts necessary? Understand draining, cleaning and even freezing, however, wanted to see what the minimum work load was to correctly install.

Definitely the axles at minimum, but to clean it out properly before install the guts need to be out
