I have an ice scraper currently holding up my headliner in my 09 g8. Is this a project a beginner could accomplish? I already got the “look” when I mentioned to wife I personally was gonna redo the headliner.
Removing the headliner you can definitely do yourself, but if you can pay $100 for a local shop like I did to redo the fabric it’s definitely worth paying somebody to do that part because there’s a lot that can go wrong with the new fabric and you won’t have to stress about it having issues down the line
Definitely not! I do not see why that would be necessary as it’s all accessible from inside the car. It was a tad difficult to pull the headliner out but with a little bending it came out the rear door easily, maybes that’s why they say they would have to remove the windshield, but definitely can avoid doing that
I believe you said you got the headliner back, so you had someone reupholster it for you ? I’m trying to cut down on spending and want to do mine my self as the fabric and foam came completely off lol
Correct I dropped it off at a local automotive upholstery shop and had them redo it for $100. Definitely the easiest/most effective way is to remove and install yourself and pay a professional to restore it since their costs are lower for a better result 😁
@@nickwicks4539 ah ok then, yeah I already got it out myself and everything just kinda wanted to cut costs but would probably done better with this professional sprayers
@@Jmav91 I definitely think you could save $50 or so doing it yourself, but you may not get as good/quality adhesives and material for the price in my opinion. I used the shop since they were highly reputable in my area, if there isn’t one like that near you I would personally much rather do it myself 😁
