If people actually used it on public servers. No one even communicates via chat. Everyone just goes off and does their own thing, mostly dying. No one ever wants to fly an actual mission. Lots of noobs who don’t follow the rules. No one cares about communication. I actually had one guy, after he landed and I said “I didn’t hear you report inbound or request landing” he says to me “yeah, that’s right. Why should I?” Really?! Really dude?.. then as I’m lining up for takeoff he cuts in from a taxiway and takes off as I’m powering up. No request startup, no request taxi or request takeoff. Then I have to listen to “hold position” for 5 minutes because I was on the runway when he pulled that shit.
Have watched a few of these SRS Vids so far and this one is definitely the most comprehensive and includes how you actually set your Hotas Buttons to the ones you want as push to talk and other options not explained. Well done Cap.
Nice. I have seen the radio change to airport freq after selecting F10, ATC, and request startup for instance (4YA servers). I wish more people knew about this.
ANOTHER "Super Important" setting to have that for some reason doesnt always default on is "Radio Switch Works as PTT" otherwise youll need a 3rd button binded for PTT
I keep coming back to this one as the best of the lot for explaining *_every step_* clearly. Of course, when I share this video I must post the following viewer warning - JET USE, JET USE LANGUAGE - as I don't tend to associate with those....jet people 😅 😂 🤣
When you are connecting, you put in IP address then clicked one you did earlier...??? Where did you get that one for as there are two places to add IP address?
Nice explanation video. Thanks. I currently have no Mic. Just wann listen to the allied radio chatter with my Reverb G2 headphones. I guess the setup procedure is exactly the same.
Neither. I never hear anyone in any of the public servers I’ve been on. They don’t even type in chat. Everyone just does their own thing and ignores everyone else.
Been trying to get this to work to come and play on the GR servers - a bit confused though on how SRS the discord chat channel and the ingame radio comms buttons work together, can't getit to work at the moment. Do you set any of them to the same button, different buttons ?
His tutorials have always been excellent. Everything I know about DCS I learned from this guy. Hell, he's the reason I bought a $5K rig, TM Hotas, Pedals, etc.
Cap can you do a blue vs red where one team uses IAF planes whereas the other uses PAF plane. Also you could do old planes instead of modern . Like Sabres and mig 21s and mig 19s ETC
This doesn’t seem to work with the F-16 unless you’re communicating on VHF. Does anybody have any idea how to communicate via UHF? I have keys binded for both radios, only VHF transmits.
Sorry man, stupid question but it might help, do you have your radio switches IN COCKPIT bound as well? I always set UHF to be radio 1 and VHF to be radio 2. You will need TWO PTT buttons.
I am a massive fan of Capt'n and I literally own the T-shirt. This video Capt'n wasn't as good as your others. It was like you was affirming what to do for SRS to somebody who already knows how to use it. Your words per minute were off the charts like you really needed to go the toilet and quickly had to bang this video out before a stores eject lol.
Probably because it’s literally so straightforward a tutorial on it is kinda stupid. I watched it before actually trying it myself and afterwards I could’ve easily just figured it out by opening the program.
I have a question, in the A10 I can talk until I am in the aircraft once in the aircraft I can hear just not talk. If I eject I immediately have that ability to talk. But once I am in the A10 I no longer have the ability to transmit. Any help would be greatly appreciate
It was in the settings allow it to “something “ aircraft. I changed that to on and now have coms. It is a really nice change of pace to be able to communicate with all the pilots
On craft like the F-14 or the F-18 with 2 radios, can you monitor both radios using this? Like if I hop in my F18 and set radio one to ATC and then set radio 2 to my flight can I use this to listen in on both at the same time?
I have now played SP about two years for numerous planes. I think its about time to go into a server. Maby FC3 aircraft would be good thought at first flight, flanker maby lurking in caucasus canyons hiding the bad world. BUT how does stuff work with fc3 aircraft? I mean just multiplayer comms with em? Do they go sameway trough srs, only need put freq straight to SRS itself? AND how can I know ATC etc freqs if no f-10 map not an option? This comm stuff is kinda ONLY thing that have kept me out of multiplayer. Dunno why, but it has seemed too complicated, while it is not so complicated :P Maby Im complicated after 16 years of Warcraft nerdrage :D
Yesterday was my first time flying multiplayer and I was a little underwhelmed 😅 I tried two different servers with roughly over 40 people connected. There were 3 people in SRS at most and the briefings didn't state specific SRS frequencies. Did I miss something or is this normal on public training servers?
Does SRS work also in case I fly with a friend without entering any public sever, but just me or him creating a server? If so, which IP to connect to should I use in this specific case? Thank you
Hey cap! When I connect to dcs world theres a little window that says "no radio connected, connect to srs server and start or join a mission" and I cant remove it even when I'm playing solo in mission editor plz help
im having trouble with downloading this. ive done everything you've said, its in the right folder but it doesnt show on my desktop like yours did when it was finished downloading.
For some reason my SRS audio is extremely low at Nvidia Shadowplay when I record it. I can hear fine while flying, but on the recording it's like 10x quieter. Anyone knows how to fix it?
@@grimreapers no i just can slew it around ... My Radios are inside of it ( and my mouse is always in the screen) There is : No Radio Connected Connect to srs server And start or join mission
@@mattiiiww Not certain, but try Left Ctrl+Left shift+esc and/or right Ctrl+right shift+esc on keyboard Though, if you do it outside of being totally in game (like at menu or picking your slot in multiplayer) all it did was bring up task manager. Do it when you’re sitting in your cockpit and should work.
As I only been on a few multiplayer servers for about 1 month.... I never here anybody using srs. I get a ready check ok but I never hear anybody. This must be for squads.
@@burtpilon1735 Np. Make sure when you connect to the server you click "briefing" to check the server's list of different channels like ATC, common, AWACS, etc
Steam and non-steam are the same I believe. I installed both MAM and CAM using Cap's video on those and it showed up on both my steam edition and my standalone version.
