I just installed my 63 series aircharger into my 2015 ford Expedition 3.5l ecoboost. It came with all of the parts, was extremely easy to install myself and I noticed an increase in acceleration. I'm very happy with it.👍👍👍

After I had the exhaust work done, I then installed the K&N air intake on my 454 dully. It would break all four wheels loose and pull a 40 ft trailer like it wasn't even there. Amazing!
Great tutorial on this installation, never even read the instructions that came in the kit. I really like the intake kit, has a great sound when accelerating. The wife will be driving the truck for the next week to see if the mpg actually does increase. Prior to install our average mpg for the last 400 miles was 18.4 mpg and last 50 miles was 19.7. Now that I have the K&N installed, I haven't seen above 14.4 mpg but I have gotten into the throttle a bit. We'll see if it actually does increase mpg as many say it will.
Alex H understand completely. My truck gets worse mpg's after putting exhaust system on it, lol, but it sounds soooooo good when I rap it up now. Let us know how it goes for ya with the wife driving. Excellent video. I just needed to verify a few things while installing mine. If I may make a suggestion...please add where to use the washers and lock washers. The instructions do not say and I visually saw where you used yours but it was sketch. Overall great vid. Thanks.
I own an 2018 Titan XD and ordered K&N 63 series intake. Instructions are not clearly stating of how to remove engine cover, sensors. Also none of your videos shows a Titan. Just chevy, gm, ford and so on. I can turn a wrench with the best of 'em but I don't wish to break stuff trying to take it off to in stall. On instructions it says lift engine cover off. It's somehow fastened to top motor. Where are the mounts ? Sensors - How does the clip without breaking it work for disconnect.
I did not. When I finished and started the truck up everything was perect...no codes. So I say no you do not have to, I think thats just covering their butts. Of course it can't hurt though.
***** No. It is not necessary to add bigger injectors. The theory is that colder air makes more horsepower. By installing these Air Intake systems you allow more air and colder air into the intake and such it increase horsepower and depending upon your driving habits fuel mileage.

i got a 63 series for my 2012 chevy 1500 Z71. i got it installed and set love it. my question is , is it ok and safe if i remove top box lid , it looks way better and i think also it will suck in more air , what do you suggest??
Little bit of everythin g the lid is designed so that it draws in more cold air if you remove it it will draw air from under the hood which is much warmer. Cold air produces more HP. No it won't hurt anything and is not recommended by the manufacturer, but it is yours.
+Jackson Silvey possibly the dealership, a wrecking/salvage yard, or a parts house such as Autozone or PepBoys, however, I usually don't reinstall those anyway. As long as it locks in with the clip on the harness it should be fine.
I have a 2014 chevy 2500 6.6 & What happens/if you don't put the heat shield cover on top? will damage it your engine etc? or its fine not putting it . or required?
+Denjay Ferrer Not sure what you mean here by the heat shield, but if you are referring to the cover on top of your engine, nothing will happen. That cover is on there to simply give your engine compartment a cleaner look. Heat shields on the other hand are designed to protect vital engine components from excessive heat which can cause premature failure of the component. This could, in fact, damage your engine depending on the components function.
Eduardo Carmona No you do not have to remove the negative battery cable. However, that being said, anytime you do any type of work with the electronics on a vehicle it is always a good idea to remove the negative battery cable to prevent the possibility of accidentally shorting out your electrical components.

I’m debating whether I should get this. I heard some pros and cons. One con I heard that it makes your “check engine” light come on. And I also heard that it makes your vehicle feel like it is about to turn off on you. Is it true?
Ray, I haven't heard of any codes being thrown or causing problems with your truck acting like it will turn off. Sounds like something else is going on there. We've had plenty of customers purchase these with no problems.
i have a 14 silverado with the data bar that shows mpg getting about 21ish on high way will the computer also recognize this and have a increase to that number saying 25ish or will it not say it?
Travis Oakes fuel mileage is computed by the computer based on alot of variables. Yes it will recognize this increase in airflow and adjust accordingly to show the correct MPG's. I bought the K&N kit from Summit for my 2008 Silverado 1500 5.3L V8, are these instructions the same? If not do you have a video for that? Also it came with the CARB sticker for smog, but didn't say where its supposed to be. Is there a spot where it legally supposed to be visible? Thank you.
+WCSD as long as it is the 63 series it will be very similar. The CARB sticker goes on the cover that goes over your upper radiator support and has all the push plugs holding it on.
On my filter, although it came with the gasket I did not need it. You will know right away if you'll need it. The gasket will not fit on the pipe if it's not needed, and the MAF won't fit if you do. I bought the chrome model, I believe the black model does require it.
+ManagerMatt1 I couldn't find anything specifically, but I am guessing it was a change between 2014 and 2015. I do know that there were a lot of changes for the 2015 models and this was probably one of them.
hi i installed the new K&N intake and noticed my MPGs went down alot. i would use about half a quarter tank to work and back now its using over a quarter tank and thats just cruising speed any recommendations? thanks
+87luxurtsport, There could be so many different possibilities as to what is going on with your vehicle. The best people to contact would be K&N. They are better equipped to troubleshoot any problems you might be having with your intake system.
On my personal experience, no better mileage, no better throttle body response, no idea about Hp gain course I never run the car over 5k rpm , the only one difference is the sound , totally waste of money
+K Buhmail it is difficult to say. K&N claims up to 50 more HP, but I have seen some studies that show some vehicles with as little as 0-3 HP gain. I would say it really varies with the vehicle and some other variables that are uncontrollable such as ambient air temperature.

Quick question.. Shouldn't you have to put some hose clamps on the new hoses you put onto the pcv valves? Sorry if it sounds dumb but I'm just curious since the oem hoses were clamped onto the stock unit..
@RealTruck - Is there a main difference in the 63 series vs. 77 series besides chrome pipe? I'm more interested in HP gain. I have a 2015 Sierra 5.3L. Also, will you need to make any computer changes or dyno mods to get the full benefit?
+Gregg Bacchus the 63 series is not legal in CA or states with CA Emissions laws. But hey the 77 series has an estimated increase of 12.27 HP and the 63 is only 10.68 anyway. Anytime you open up the airflow it's going to help with HP, but to get the most out of it yes I would chip it and also open up the exhaust as well.

I believe the K&N website said the 77 series was only a 10.2% increase vs. a 10.7% on the 63 series? Any suggestions on how to "chip it"? Is that hooking it to a dyno or computer? What does that typically cost? And what type of shop could do it? Sorry for the 50 questions.

I have a Question: One a hot day in the summer, when the car running, would the car absorb the hot air that coming going into the filter. Making the hot air more dense when it come into the car... Is that a bad thing???
+Kevin Comaduran Cold Air means more Horsepower, hence the reason for cold air intakes, but more airflow means a better running engine and more MPG's. So with the hotter more dense air you may not get the greatest horsepower but you would get decent fuel mileage in most cases. The idea is to get a good balance that effects the HP and MPG's. Your question below is thus. It depends on how the intake system is setup. If your system draws its air from outside of the engine compartment or inside. In colder climates it is best for engine warm-up to have it draw from under the hood. In warmer climates it would be better coming from outside of the engine compartment. Whether it's better to be covered or not depends on your climate and if the vehicle has the ability to draw in air from outside the engine compartment. One thing to keep in mind is that even on those really hot summer days it is still hotter under your hood.

dcjosh93 most definitely. Since the spacer goes in between the plenum and the throttle body it should not be a problem. That is provided the spacer is not more than an inch in thickness otherwise you may need to make some mods.
