How to Install the RCI GX460 Fuel Tank Skid Plate

I install the RCI fuel tank Skid Plate on my Lexus GX460. Super easy install. Definitely heavy duty skid plate, this thing will put you at ease on the trail. Nothing going to poke a hole in your fuel tank now.

Great video! We have this skid too.. we went with aluminum for weight. Enjoy your RCI skid ❤️ 😍

Thanks! Yeah weight saving with the aluminum would be nice. But honestly we bought this as a deterrent for those shady people who have been drilling gas tanks. I mean, I’m sure someone who was really determined could still drill it, but at least it’s just another obstacle.

"And one 13 mm bold above the driveshaft" - Couldn't help but notice you made it look like you used a standard socket to remove the bolt above the driveshaft. This is not possible as it's in there at an angle, with only about an inch of clearance between the driveshaft and the bolt.

No It’s not a standard socket. It is a shallow depth socket. Definitely not a socket and ratchet you see everyday, I’d recommend using that or just an angled wrench. Same socket and wrench I use at 0:14
