helped a ton, brand new predator 212 non hemi, removed governor, air filter, arc billet flywheel, 22lb valve springs, just fired it up ran good for 10mins or so, shut her off changed oil i let it sit for awhile then when i cranked it up again it backfired (thought it was a carb problem thought i flooded her) and the pull cord slapped against the motor like how u described in the end of vid, tried the lash tighter than it was and its running again👍🏽👍🏽

So before you install the springs, what else have you installed on that motor?

how would you put the piston “top dead center” like you said ? and what tool did you use
@Guido19
@Guido19 25 дней назад
You gotta slowly pull start the motor over and remove the spark plug till the piston is all the way at the top. Also take off the valve cover so you can see the rockers are lose and there’s no tension on them

Great video, just wanted to know what length your pushrods are ? And if they are chromemoly, maybe if you could send a link that would be great.
@Guido19
@Guido19 Год назад
Hey thank you! I don’t have a link unfortunately but they are just the stock length but chromemoly. I made a whole video on them! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-D4RyMZe7jCk.html

Yo bro i have a hot265 cam and 26lb springs what lash should i set it to the .003?? Or .002 because its not starting and its kicking back i have billet flywheel timmed and billet rod plus a mikuni jetted
@Guido19
@Guido19 4 месяца назад
I would make sure everything is all good and legit with timing and your coil gap and if so I would probably do .002. That’s what I personally run. The reason it kicks back is the advanced timing and also along with the lash. It won’t be fully eliminated but it won’t do it as often

Great job! I got a 212 clone and noticed I only had a valve cap on the exhaust side. 99% sure I didn’t drop the intake side into the motor but don’t know why there would only be on 1 side. So I’m worried I have to crack the motor in case I dropped it.
@Guido19
@Guido19 Год назад
Actually you should be good! Some different clone motors only have 1
@ThisTall
@ThisTall Год назад
Turns out I didn’t drop it. Only the exhaust side has a valve cap, and the intake side does not.

Ay bro when u put ur 26lb vave springs did u put that lil copper valve seal und r ther the intake valve spring or u dont need it ?
@Guido19
@Guido19 9 месяцев назад
No I didn’t! I took it out when I installed my stainless steel valves as mine are 5.5mm and the stock ones are 5mm so the stock valve stem seal wouldn’t fit. It’s not really necessary.

I'm currently running 22lb valve springs with a 265 cam...it runs great a low and mid rpm range but once I'm wot, it will fall on its face and start cutting out.. I believe I'm still valve floating, so I'm about to upgrade from 22lb to 26lb springs..do you think this upgrade will solve my wot issues??..I'm currently running a stage 4 kit..with the billet arc flywheel which is already advanced..plus a 24mm mukuni carb...so I don't think it's a fuel issue...
@Guido19
@Guido19 Год назад
Hmmm personally I would consider going just a bit bigger. Going to a 26lb will be better but if you get 32lb or 36lb you will definitely notice a difference for sure and you will get more performance for sure!

@@Guido19 do i need to buy a billet flywheel?
@Guido19
@Guido19 10 месяцев назад
@@Ramons_10r80 no you don’t! Valve springs won’t affect the flywheel at all but again it’s a great mod to pick up some performance gains and also it’s stronger so more reliable. If your motor has the governor bypassed or removed the flywheel is a must because the stock one will explode

@@Guido19 okay. That helps some I’ll call Go Power Sports in the morning just to double check since I got springs from them. I saw on red beard garage, he said between .06 and .08. And somekne I know said he tried .05 and .07 and the motor shut down or something and he said to just set them at 0. Basically just tightens them up when they just barely touch. So I’m gonna try .03 for exhaust and .02 for intake.
@Guido19
@Guido19 Год назад
@@mjk4378 yeah I would recommend doing .02 for both actually. Don’t do anything to lose cause then your pullstart will wip back and hit you. Ask me how I know lol. You also don’t want to have it at 0 either. My motor is fully built and I’m running.01 I’m pretty sure and it runs pretty well!
