As a tailoring student, if I were to iron my jackets like this in school, there would be maaaaany comments that I was "killing" the shape of the garment, never press it on a flat surface and never press on the right side without a piece of cloth between the jacket and the iron. And if you dont have a steam iron you can have a dry piece of cloth closest to the jacket and a moist piece of cloth ontop of that.
What would be your reccomendation for really sensitive fabrics, for very loose/open weave garments (like fresco), I typically use a steamer and leave it at that.
Hey Raphael, how about ties? Can you use a pressing cloth and small motions like you recommend for the sleeves? Anything in particular for a grenadine tie?
Hey, Hello there, I have a question that I would love to hear your thoughts on. I am going to a wedding in a couple weeks, and I am thinking about wearing my new charcoal grey morning coat. However, it is not a super fancy event, and I am unsure if a tailcoat would be appropriate. What do you think? Are tailcoats appropriate for you average wedding, these days?
Sven has a few videos that talks about your concerns, go check them out. But in short, ask the host for their wedding dress code before you go. One of the few things you should not do at a wedding is to grab more attention than the marrying couple. After all, it is a celebration for them not for you. Since you mentioned that it will not be a super fancy event, I would say a business formal suit (three-piece, double-breasted and etc.) is probably as fancy as you could go.
Hey Sven. I see you are ironing the jacket with the regular iron and then in another clip with the more professional looking one? What's the difference?
Those pants are very nice and go well with the blue vest, but the cuffs on the pants are too wide. They need to be about half the width, otherwise, they make your legs look too short.
Of the vacuum boards available, which do you recommend. I mean, for me, it's a huge investment so I want to get a "one and done" quality, dependable board and haven't the means to try out the various models.
your iron board is incorrect. ironboard should be 4 feet long & 2.5 feet wide. It should be fixed near wall not movable. Proffesinal laundry use this type of iron board in india.
