In my country (Indonesia) we use it in daily life 😅. "Tulapia fish the size of adult palm", "Sejengkal (the length between the tip of your thumb and pinky when you spread your fingers) galangal", "One hasta (the length between the tip of your fingers and your elbow) of fabrics". It's not a standard use. Just some traditional measuring techniques.
Here’s a tip for the chunjang (black bean paste). Coat your measuring spoon with oil before scooping so it slides off easily, otherwise it will get messy! This trick also works with gochujang (red pepper paste)
Ha! I've had this exact sort of enthusiastic response to this channel before. Every recipe I've tried out has been fantastic, with some really surprising ones that looked deceptively simple but were powerhouses of unexpected flavour. Please pop back here and let us all know if you triumphed with this one and if your neighbours cried with envy when they smelled the vapours coming out of your window ;)
@@bubbles2836 my HMart doesn’t have these peppers. Strange... I asked for help, showed screen shot of pepper 🌶 I think Future Neighbor is going to be famous in Maryland USA cause every week I go in looking for the ingredients for Daniels dishes
Oh my... that looks and sounds- sooo good. Well done Daniel, you must have been very pleased with this...fall of the bone chicken (I saw that drumstick 🍗) 🥰🙏🏻🙌👏🏻
8:00 -- that's the moment for sure, you guys truly achieved your "future neighbor" brand. There's nothing like going over to your cute next door couple's place, eating with them, enjoying their company, and seeing them have a cute moment where you don't know what they're saying 😂💛
I got the chance to try it out for myself yesterday - even though I substituted the chicken for tofu, since I don't eat meat anymore - but I have to admit that this was absolutely delicious! Thank you for the great recipe - Please keep them coming! :D
This looks so easy, hopefully I can find the black bean paste somewhere, we have Asian supermarket here but I've never been in! Time to go explore I think, looks amazing. I have dried birds eye chili peppers from my tree at home, I bet they'd go great
I'm in the same boat. Googled said to use rice vinegar. 1/2 teaspoon per tablespoon to counteract the sourness. Haven't tried it yet. Will keep you posted!
I like the burnt rice and laver that they serve with it at the end of the meal in the restaurants 😍 please can you show us in another video. I remember I had it in a famous jjimdak chain near Hongkik
This Lent, I’m trying to eat fish and chicken on weekdays only and pork and beef on the weekend, sometimes. My goal is to be healthier and to exercise more. It just so happened that Lent is already tomorrow when I realized I wanted to be healthier. So, definitely adding this to my favorites! Thank you so much!
I know it's a very white person question - but would it be ok with boneless chicken thigh? (I don't mind bone, but the ones I cook for do 😅) thanks for lovely recipe :)
one day ill be able to find those big fuckin onions where i live. i swear recipes are like "use an onion" and im looking at the only onions i can find/buy which are about a half the size
Hi can you please add here your measurements of ingredients and also where to buy some of your ingredients or substitute if sone ingredients are not available to in the market or grocery store. Thank you!
I've never had store-bought cheongju, but I made my own once and it was a bit tart/sour. Would that be good for this or should I try to source store-bought cheongju?
I’m gonna make this dish tonight:) and I realised I don’t have that black bean paste so imma just gonna make do with Korean chilli paste and some soy sauce. Wish me luck ❤️🔥🔥
Dan-yul, please sharpen your knife before you get hurt! The recipe looks grrat, and healthy, too. Braised chicken is delicious, no matter where in the world, or which cuisine, it is.
Longtime fan. Love the exact measurements and clear explanations. Maybe one day you can create some instant pot versions of all your dishes. All the best to you, Daniel and Katie. So grateful to have your videos!
I made this for dinner tonight. It's 5 min from done and smells amazing. I did not have noodles. Since this is the best part I will need to make again very soon with noodles.....
