How to Jump Shoot Ducks 

I jump shoot with a lab in Alaska and Montana. My strategy is to put the lab on sit about 50 yards from the creek and sneak straight into a bend in the creek. The lab can see all the falls and does not suffer muzzle blast which can damage the retriever's hearing. If there are no ducks, I walk back to the retriever and we walk 50 yards away from the creek to the next bend and repeat. Walking close and parallel to the creek would flush ducks out of range, walking perpendicular and straight into the bend and the ducks flush much closer.
