This tip on how to combat short crushs by applying the dip drive really works especially for me, who is located at somewhere between 2.5 and 3.0. Thanks.

this is one of my all-time favorite videos. My son and I went over this over a year ago and it gave him a great kill shot. Lately we've been focusing on other things like how to shorten the stroke to return against extreme power, cleaning up his serve, hitting on the rise, approach shots and volleys - and his kill shot has been gradually degrading from lack of emphasis. So I went online and found this video again, and I just love it to death. It is so great and covers everything I had forgotten, and I'm eager to watch it with my son again and go through all the details again - because I already know IT WILL WORK! Thanks so much for your videos, as far as I'm concerned they are the best I've found: extremely clear and concise and demonstrated by someone who has obviously mastered a given stroke. Some guys who produce these videos are great players but practically incoherent. Others are very skilled in presentation, but I watch them hit the ball and I think "you don't actually look that great yourself!" You are skilled in both the presentation AND in the demonstration, and everything just makes sense. Looking forward to making the trek up to Laguna with my kids for an in-person lesson someday.

Love that forecourt put away drill. I started doing that ball drop thing and working with my racket in stalking mode and going to stick the ball in each corner alternating and then randomly. That's a great drill and I think you've shown me how to tweak it even better. Great job bro.

While there might be some haters (which is actually a sign of success), I often find Grant's videos to be way more applicable to teaching my kids how to better play than almost any other tennis channel.

Thank you very much! I’m having troubles with these short ball’s for the last three years and i’m getting very frustrated by hitting them long. Before that it was one of my weapons and did I crush every short ball. With these tips i’m going to train in order to get my mojo back, im sure if being able again to crush these ball’s it will boost my confidence, and it will help me to win matches again.

OK, so you have both the front hop and power move for closing in. When to use one or the other? And there is the dip drive that you also use on short lower balls.
@GrantVanderHayden

Great question! The dip drive is for higher balls :)
