Honestly you are the best teacher on here: not only do you have a tonne of supporting videos, videos I can progress with, but you’re making most of it free and accessible. You, more than almost any other channel, have done more for my knitting than anyone else!! Thank you!!! I am looking at my work with such pride now, rather than frustration 😅

Ashley I must say you a wonderful Teacher. I just wish you were around when I was teaching. I’m now 83 years old, and learned to knit in School in Scotland age 5 or 6 years old. The first thing we had to knit was a hot water bottle cover, which we needed with no central heating. My wonderful Teacher was a master knitter. Through my younger years I only knitted off and on. I emigrated to Vancouver Canada, and worked in a yarn shop age 20. I was a very natural knitter, and was offered a job to teach knitting at a high School in the evenings. The pay was marvellous. What I would have loved, was to have you teaching by my side, the younger generation. I still think youngsters should be taught in every School, as once you learn, you don’t forget. It’s also the best thing you could learn for many reasons. Keep up the great work of teaching, I’m so proud of you. God Bless . ❤️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇨🇦🥰

I really appreciate your kind words - means a lot to me to hear that from someone with such a strong history knitting! It is so fun for me to teach simple designs that I make - I want it to me accessible to everyone! It brings so much joy to see other people make things that they love to wear. Thanks letting me know about your background - it’s so fun to hear about how other people started knitting and their love for it too. Stay warm + happy knitting! 🧶 ❤️🧶💕

I'm a disabled grandma..n have been knitting n crochet for 50 years.. throughout those years I taught many many children (and adults) these wonderful crafts. I would pick up hooks needles n yarn at garage sales n 2nd hand shops as to have many extra ones on hand... So I could teach then give my student a hook n yarn or needles n yarn to take home.

🥰 I have found other so-called tutorials, where the knitter tells you what she’s going to do, shows you the finished product, and mostly talks her way through the beginning of the procedure, and then shows you the end of it in each section, which is really no help for me. You are actually sitting here knitting every stitch with me. That is what I needed. Ok, NOW I’M DOING IT!

I must admit am 62 and have been knitting for 50+ years and have never seen or knitted a jumper this way. The traditional way of sleeves and body pieces sewn together seems easier to do and I have knitted so many over the years. It's was intriguing to watch. Thank you , I enjoyed it. 🤔❤️🇬🇧

I am halfway down the torso using your Simple Raglan Sweater pattern and can barely contain my excitement!! And your closeups and explanations are on point. I don't know much about knitting vocabulary in general, but in English even less (I only know a few terms in my mother tongue french) but I could follow pretty much everything. I do lots of crafts so I wasn't too worried about getting the handiwork right, but had no idea how to follow a pattern prior to starting this. Highly recommend!

I’ve watched a ton of videos, and some are just so experienced, that they forget important small steps for us beginners trying to branch out to other projects. Even the raglan increases made the most sense, you described exactly where to put your stitches, where to increase, and that is where I always had issues with, because I didn’t know where to put my markers! This has to be the most beautiful explanation of knitting. I have been watching knitting videos for the last 4 months. You have explained it straightforward to the point. You have a new subscriber here. I'm a crocheted that want to learn knitting. Was about to give up until I seen your video. Please keep them coming.😍🥰🥰

So excited I knit your sweater pattern. You’re an excellent teacher. This was my second knit sweater ever. The first was over 20 yrs ago when I took a local class. I crochet but want to do both. Thank you. 😊

Ashley, you are a treasure. I love to knit but have no sense for space, meaning, I can't see (visualize) the garment in a written pattern or even a half-finished project. I'm knitting blind. BUT you came along and now I CAN SEE IT, I can see the whole flow, how the sweater grows and forms on the needles. What a breakthrough you enabled me there! From now on I will not only be able to knit this sweater but I will have an Understanding on Sweaters in general. I hope you are a happy person because you do deserve it.

So I finished my body yesterday and started working the first sleeve so I’m on the home stretch. I would consider myself a beginner knitter and I can say this whole experience of this tutorial and the instructions are absolutely perfect for a beginner. I’ve primarily made hats and a few simple socks and wanted to tackle a sweater. Ashley did a wonderful job with this, providing easy to understand step by step instructions. I started this on Friday and I’ll have it done in under a week. So thank you for showing us this pattern and going into the details, this is a true gem and I look forward to working more of your patterns!

i have wanted to learn to knit a sweater for most of my life, but especially the last 7 years as i’m finally retired. I cannot thank you enough for this wonderful video and pattern! I did it! It took me less than a week….i got into one or two jams but i rechecked the video and got back on track easily. Best of all, i’m a continental knitter and most of my knitting friends had given up on me,but this was amazing! Thank you SO much! I am over the moon at figuring it all out with your help!

I just finished this sweater! Have been knitting for years and made sweaters with rectangles. I used a combination of this and the Winter bluff and I changed the sleeves to make a longer cuff. Your detailed videos showing closeups was fantastic! Thanks so much Ashley. I’m on my way to buy yarn for another of your projects!

I haven’t started on this yet but I’ve watched the whole tutorial, printed the pattern and purchased the yarn. You have done a wonderful job explaining everything and have me excited to make this! Every other sweater tutorial I’ve watched had me so confused and overwhelmed that I’ve been scared to even try. Not anymore thanks to you!

I am going to seem hyperbolic for a moment and I will own that lol but, I just really needed this. You have made it so that I feel like I have a helper right next to me. My cousin taught me to knit before she passed away and well, every stitch I feel her with me and I have so so much wanted to make her proud since we never got to this part. Celtic knots and raglan sweater creation was on our list but she just got too sick. I am getting better on the celtic knots through youtube university, but, I just couldn't seem to find the raglan tutorial I really needed. I just have to say you are a gifted artist and teacher and I am so grateful.

I'm halfway through the first cardigan I have ever attempted to knit, but want to be able to do a Raglan top-down. Thank you so much for this. I have beautiful Malobrigo yarn I want to use for this; I will swatch it out and adjust the stitch numbers, but thank you so much for this well-explained, easy-to-use pattern.
