Thank you for this video! Besides having an effect on endometrial lining, estrogen excess ( in relation to progesterone) is said to also influence negatively on varicose veins. In other words: worsening of varicose veins in the menopause (or afterwards) is due to an excess of progesterone related to progesterone… estrogen decreases in the menopause but progesterone decreases even more.

I have been on HRT for years when I started spotting and I finally had to have a DC. I had polyps in my uterus! I was told it was because I was getting to much estrogen, so I quit that part of the treatment and I am doing testtogen and progesterone. I have very thin skin and was reading that it could be from lack of estrogen! What a surprise! I think I am going back on a very low dose of estrogen and see if I do still spot. You have to be a chemist to figure this all out! I have learned a lot from you and the most important is you must find out answers yourself!

I wouldn't dismiss it. My boss started with a uterine polyp. The doctors left her bleeding for half a year, taking their time to schedule its removal. By the time they went in to do it, they found advanced endometrial cancer. She had a hysterectomy, chemo and all, but still died a year later.

Have you done a video on the difference between estriol and estradiol with regard to hormone therapy? I watched the videos in order for a long time, but not the more recent ones, so, I'm not sure. I know you have mentioned the three types of estrogen, but I'm interested in knowing about the use of estriol, specifically.
@MenopauseTaylor
@MenopauseTaylor Год назад
My dear, I have covered all of this long ago. If you don't want to sabotage your entire menopause education, start with video #1 and watch them all in order. That's the only way you'll understand everything. • Estrone is produced by your fat cells, and increases at the time of menopause. • Estradiol is the estrogen produced by your ovaries, that bathes every cell of your body. It’s the one you lose at post-menopause, causing all the symptoms and increased risks for diseases. • Estriol is the estrogen produced by the placenta during pregnancy for the sole benefit of the baby. For HRT, the only one of any use to you is estradiol.

So estrone has the same (or similar) effect on the endometrial lining of the uterus as estradiol has - interesting! I’m not aware of endometrial screenings for OFFs to monitor the thickness of their uterine lining … Or is this not necessary unless there are symptoms of a potential disease process, such as uterine bleeding in post-menopause? Is heredity a risk? My paternal grandmother had uterine, ovarian, and breast cancer in her lifetime -are these cancers hereditary through the paternal line?
@MenopauseTaylor
@MenopauseTaylor Год назад
The heredity of each of the cancers you listed is entirely different. You cannot lump them all together. In a consultation, I can take everything into account, tailor it all to YOU, and ensure that you know the facts for each. Generally speaking, the relevant relatives for: (1) Breast Cancer are maternal, first degree only. (2) Ovarian cancer are maternal & paternal first & second degree, (3) Uterine Cancer depends on various other familial cancers. You really have to tailor all of this specifically to YOU. If you want me to do that in a consultation, schedule one at MenopauseTaylor.ME. I do them all online.

Dr Taylor, I loved your videos that were just info. Nower days with all the theactrics is a little much. Sorry I couldn't finish the video. I wish your video were more about how to know if your HRT is working cause I asked my GYN and blood work shows nothing only that you may or may not be in menopause. I would think if my HRT is working it would show something. Why with HRT you can have break throughs or why your uterus lining is growing thicker and what should be done. I know book an appointment and I'll tell you. Well, I have seen 3 doctors and all tell me different stuff. I believe no doctor really knows how a women in menopause really responses to HRT. I was told it's a crap shoot so I might be paying and believing in info and HRT and I will not be any better off in the future. So why should I take HRT. If we can't see now how HRT is helping me and so many women out there. Suzanne Sommers writes her books and if you do the research many women have died following her ideas and plans. She has the money to waste from all her books but us everyday middle class women. That believe what they read believe it will help only to find out that what they took didn't and are suffer much more. I am tired of all the smoke and mirrors around life. Insurance you pay for and than find out you aren't covered for that, relationships aren't they way you thought and now alone, you have police but when your dog is run over you realize they don't cover that either, you go to a doctor praying to fix your infection and after 3 anti-biotics find out they won't help either. What is this world coming to is it all about the $$$$$$ or is there any one out there or is this world all about illusions, promises, bull shit just to get our $$$$.

Present for class! Oh my, that costume can't be comfortable to record a video in. Well, I was YFFWPCOS-Young (50) fat female with polycystic ovarian syndrome. I was blessed with a rare form found in a uterine polyp! Everything gone! It baffles my mind why the gynecologist at 37 refused to do the hysterectomy knowing that I was guaranteed to get it--fat, PCOS, insulin resistant. He played God and matchmaker by stating I'd find Prince Charming and wanna start popping out babies in my very late 30s. Sadly he failed to hear my view on men and children (a direct hint to abuse growing up). It's done and gone. No signs of it coming back after two years with three more left to wait and see.

50 is not young. Dr Barbie herself said that the age risk was being over 45. Your gyno makes me mad!! He put your life at risk because of his patriarchal values!!! My gyno was a bit like this when he refused me a sterilization after my second baby. He didn't flat out refuse or say why, but kept postponing my request with excuses. I finally went behind his back and got it done by another doctor.

That's not what hereditary means. Hereditary means that your mom would have had the mutation before you were conceived and passed it on to you. But she could also have developed a non hereditary cancer. Just her having it is not enough to tell. I think you would have to get a genetic test. They do it for breast and ovarian cancers, not sure about endometrial.

Why are doctors opposed to BHRT Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy which is more natural to our bodies than horse urine?
@MenopauseTaylor
@MenopauseTaylor Год назад
Most people misuse the word "bio-identical" when they mean "compounded." The word, "bio-identical" has become a fancy marketing buzz word. "Bio-identical" does not mean compounded. Both the pharmaceutical and the compounding industries produces bio-identical hormones. The difference is regulation of one and not the other. The compounding industry is entirely unregulated ... which means it is entirely incapable of preventing the 3 diseases that are due to estrogen deficiency (heart attack, osteoporosis, and Alzheimer's). If you want me to tailor everything specifically to YOU, I can only do so in a consultation.
