This is it ladies and gents- the crankflip tutorial is here! This is the last of the three basic building blocks of unicycle tricks. Landing a crankflip is a massive accomplishment, and it unlocks so many tricks it's impossible to really describe. Check this tutorial out if you want to learn how to crankflip!

Love the school brill! Will you make a "extra class" talking about gear and things like the differences between crank lengths etc.. also about frames with rounded corners vs the krisholm frame with sharp corners.

I like this idea too. I'd also be interested in hearing about tire pressure, types of pedals, and seat height. These might all be pretty subjective, but they're things I've been wondering about for urban riding.

Already crankflips? I can do many other tricks in flatland but I've never landed one crankflip. Maybe I'll give it another try...

Yep, already crankflip. It’s harder than the other ones, but just as important to learn early on. It took me months to learn, so I tried to distill this into only the necessary information. Give it another go!

I just started really trying to get crank flips a couple days ago and I pretty much hace the snap down, but the uni always shoots too far in front of me to even try and get a foot on a crank I’m not sure if I’m just kicking it forward when I kick my front pedal or if it’s something I’m doing with my arm. Got any tips on how to keep the uni under me

Been trying for two days and have the flick, have my back foot landing back on the pedal, but can't convince myself to put my front foot back onto the cranks. I also have a nice phat blister on my uni hand, so woohoo for that!

daffodil i spent months being afraid to commit like that- it isn’t worth the time haha. If you can get a foot on the crank you WILL land it if you stay over. Gotta go for it!!

What tire pressure do you recommend for jumping? 🚀 And what crank size are you using? Best, Anders

Tire pressure- I don't know the exact number. I just use what feels right. I keep it fairly bouncy. As for the cranks, I've ridden 125, 130, and 135 all pretty extensively. 125 is probably my favorite, but the other sizes were also nice.
